I'm so so sorry I've taken so long with this update. I had a lot of stress with exam results and college-_-

Thank you so much for everyone who follows this story and are still reading (hope you all are)

Hope you enjoy this chapter!

I sat with a scowl on my face as Tobias walked in. Still not being able to believe he actually invited Caleb, I pulled my hand back as he reached for me.

"I can't believ-"

"Don't, Tris."

I inhaled sharply and spoke with an edge to my voice. "Excuse me?"

"Don't act like I've betrayed you." He paused. "He's your brother, he has a right-"

"No, no he doesn't!" I snapped. "You don't understand, he's the last person I wanted to see today."

"Exactly why I invited him." Tobias nodded.

I shook my head confused. "You wanted to ruin my day?"

He sighed, exasperated. "Its moments like this, when something serious has happened, that you need to forget about the past and be with your family."

"I have a family! My mom, and my dad."

Tobias groaned, frustrated. "You don't know how lucky you are to have a family that care about you. I haven't spoke to my dad since I moved to Dauntless and I don't even know who my mother is."

"Tobias I-"

"And you wont even talk to me, Tris. You didn't even tell me you had a brother until a few days ago. And I found out from Christina!" He added.

"I told you everything you needed to know. He left our family without a word."

"Clearly he's trying to put things right. He's been calling you Christina said, and he came to see you an-"

"Tobias, stop." I sighed running my hands through my hair.

He looked at me with raised eyebrows. Mouth still agape from what he was about to say.

"All I know is that I'm the one who had to sit and watch as my parents dealt with it. Whenever I went to visit them, without fail they would always ask if I had heard from him… I remember my mothers face. She hated asking, she knew she shouldn't because it wasn't selfless, but she couldn't help it."

I heard Tobias inhale and shook my head from the memory.

"I just wish you wouldn't have invited him."

"Yeah well, I think you needed it."

I snapped my head up to see he has his arms crossed and was leaning against the wall.

I squinted my eyes. "Did you miss everything I just said."

"He's trying to put things right, Tris!"

"Why are you supporting him? This has got nothing to do with you!"

"Yes it does. If we're in a relationship then I want to help you."

"You know what would help right now? You leaving."

"What?" He scowled. "I'm trying to help."

"Cant you see that you're making things worse?" I sighed. "Just go."

Without looking at him, I pulled the sheets over my head and turned to fall asleep. I let a tear escape before wiping it away frustrated.

I woke up to the sound of a light breathing. I rolled over to see Tobias in the chair opposite. Legs swung over the arm rest and head leaning against the back. Either he hadn't left when I told him to, or came back. I watched as he slept, still mad at him, but calmer now. His eyes started to flicker and I looked down. When I looked back up, he was staring at me. Slightly, I smiled at him. I still stand by what I said, but I could never stay mad at Tobias. He had been here for me this whole time through the operation. I hate fighting with him. He would do anything for me and I loved it, I loved him. I broke eye contact as the realisation hit me. I love him.

I sat up to speak but was interrupted by as a nursed walked in. She checked through a few things before speaking.

"Everything has gone exactly as we hoped. You can go home when you're ready."

I smiled, grateful. "Thank you, so much."

Tobias stood, stretching his arm from the position he had been in. Without speaking he helped me up from the bed and gathered all of my bags.

"Ill change in the bathroom." I said warily of how he hadn't spoke.

He nodded and walked out of the room. Changing was no problem, I felt no pain which was a relief. I thanked the nurses before leaving and met Tobias at the car.

Neither of us spoke. I was lost in thought as to why he was acting so strange. Surely he was over the fight, I was.

"Tobias." I spoke softly.

He glanced at me, keeping his eyes on the road.

"What's wrong?"

He shrugged. "I'm fine."

"No you're not, that's what girls say exactly when they're not fine." I joked, hoping to get a smile out of him.

"Yeah, well I'm not a girl, and I'm fine."

I shook my head. "Tell me. Tell me what it is."

"Like how I wanted you to tell me about Caleb?" He snapped.

I pulled my lips tight, not believing we were still on this subject. I sighed.

"I honestly don't know why you got so mad at me."

I turned my head away, staring out of the window. If he didn't understand me yesterday then I was going to ignore him.

"And today you're acting like yesterday never happened, as if you've wiped it from your mind." He paused to sigh. "I guess that's what you tried to do with Caleb."

By now my anger had been building up. I scoffed. "And to think that I was going to tell you-" I stopped myself before saying something I regretted.

"Tell me what?"

I looked away.

"Tris?"

I didn't reply. Suddenly, my body shot forward as Tobias slammed the breaks.

"What the hell?!" I shouted.

He turned to me. "Tell me what, Tris?"

"Are you crazy?!" I said looking behind at the confused drivers behind us. "This whole argument has gotten to your head, you need to calm down." I snapped.

"Tris."

"Start the car."

"Tris."

Slowly, I looked up at him.

"You're okay, right? Everything with the operation went fine."

So this is why he was acting so crazy, he thought I was going to tell him something about my health. Thinking about this actually increased my love for him, even though we were fighting he would put everything on hold to make sure I was okay.

I breathed out heavily and nodded. "I'm fine." I smirked.

Tobias' eyes widened, "You said girls-"

"It was a joke." I laughed softly.

He breathed out a sigh of relief, "What were you going to tell me?" He whispered.

Looking up into his eyes, I swallowed before the words came tumbling out. "I love you, Tobias."
