Chapter 2

A Divine Soul

Well, you know that there is no task in the world more difficult than convincing an Egyptian god. Now I got a task to convince 12 to 13 Egyptian gods. And one god who doesn't even remembers his own name.

Great.

Here I am, standing in Duat, looking for directions. Who can help me? Think, think! What about Khnum?

So, as the First, Second and Third house are empty , I might buy them you know to make a mansion. The fourth house seriously needs an air conditioning system. The fifth and sixth aren't much great either.

The seventh is more like bore-o-adise instead of paradise.

So I finally decide to go to Khnum and ask his about the gods after listening to Apophis's failed attempts to convince me to help him to break out of prison in the twelfth house. Seriously man, don't those dead scarab shells ever decay? Apophis does seriously need to put room freshener in his prison. By the ways I know what you're thinking. 'How can this mortal survive without getting his senses burned?'. Well, the answer is simple. I am immortal. I think I should introduce myself first which that dunce Omega hasn't. My name is Anung un Rama: The Son of the Fallen One. I prefer to call myself Danny though. You know because that is a short name. And besides, before my enemy could take my full name, he would be in ashes. So, I finally decided to go to the Third House through the River of the Night.

After some time the river eventually narrowed. A shoreline appeared on either side-black volcanic sand sparkling in the light of my ship's light. The bottom of the ship scrapped against rocks and sandbars which would have torn the hull of the ship into half if it wasn't made of solid aluminum. As I approached the shore I got out of the ship and searched the ground. I shouted, "Well, is that it?" I have a very bad habit of speaking things aloud. And sometimes I had paid the price. Suddenly, there came a huge foot. Unfortunately that foot was connected to a body. I could not see his face, but I was sure this is Khnum because I could see his horns.

He said "You are looking for something?"

I said" Yeah, I'm looking for Ra."

"And what makes you think that I will tell you his location?"

I said "This is important. I need all the gods at this one."

He asked "Who are you anyway?"

"Let's just say that I am another magician. An immortal one."

He looked in my eyes with horror. He said" I was waiting for you for centuries Anung un Rama!"

So finally I convinced him to take me to Ra. We rowed on the River of Night while I saw 8 houses pass. I understood that we were now approaching the twelfth house. We were there, looking at Ra's sun boat. Even in the darkness it was glowing in its full strength. His ghost crew was cheering. Suddenly I saw Ra standing on the mast. He was looking younger than I have thought. There were even other gods and I found two children standing there. I blinked and I found myself beside Ra. He stared at me like I was an alien.

He said "Do I know you? I am having a déjà vu feeling that I do know you." I answered "It has been a long time, brother." Everyone was shocked. Ra was in horror. He stammered "It…t… It's not possible! I thought Apophis killed you."

"Oh brother! Never forget, you are not the only one with powers."

The boy I spotted shouted "But Danny, how are you alive after all?" The girl suddenly said" You know this guy?"

"Of course, he is our brother."

I was more shocked than him. Wait a minute. Just wait a minute. I asked "Are you carter Kane?"

"Yes."

I pointed to the girl and said" And you must be Sadie Kane."

"How do you know our names?"

"I'm your brother."

All shouted at the same time "What!"

I asked Carter "You didn't tell them?"

"Well I forgot."

I started to explain "Ok everyone. I will pull you out of your confusion. When Ra was rising from Chaos, he used some of the energy he had. The energy then resulted to me. I am Ra's half brother. I knew the secret to kill Apophis that is the reason why he tried to kill me. But before Apophis could completely destroy me, I ordered my ba to leave my body. My ba was travelling in Duat when I met Osiris. He gave me a new life as Carter's brother. But as I was born I told Julius to leave me in a stranded place. Ra had offered me to become a god, but I refused."

Anubis asked" So why didn't my master tell us about you?"

I answered to that genuine question "Because I made him swear on River Styx that he will not leak my secret out."

Set demanded "Wait a minute, what is this River Style anyways?"

"Styx!"

"Whatever."

"Oh forget about it. So where was I? Ah, yes. I've come here to make a treaty between you and the Greek gods….."

Geb said "Will you take the efforts and say why we should do that?" I shouted" Will you let me finished?" Gods do raise ones temper. "You have to do it before Apophis has mixed his hands with Gaia's giants to take over the world. We know Apophis's weakness and they know Gaia's. Together, we can the save the world once again." Finally everyone was serious. Phew. that was difficult. I am really bad at compromising others.

Carter then asked me, "If there are Greek gods, there must be demigods, like sons of gods, more than one; take Percy Jackson for example. You know him right?"

"I own him a debt. Yes Carter there are two mps of demigods: one Greek, one roman"

"So I think we should convince them to mix their hands with us."

I laughed "I salute your enthusiasm Carter, but don't worry. A friend of mine has already started for that journey."

"Who is he?"

"Oh, no one. Just an eccentric hypocrite who is the god of heroes and flying."

Ra ordered" Ok everyone, I will fix a date and then we will meet the Greek gods. Till then, dismiss." And after that everyone vanished except Ra and his sun boat. He said "I think I must continue on my journey and I think I will see you later. Farwell brother." Then he disappeared. I got out of Duat and was starring at the horizon.

This was just the beginning.
