I hope that you like this chapter! Some of the things are not based neither on the books nor the TV show, they just come from my imagination.

After a few minutes of contemplation we decided to leave the Jake thing behind and focus on Magic.

The book of shadows was composed of four sections, tey explained to me; the first one was the Ingredients as Diana called it, and it listed necessary elements to witchcraft, their properties, as well as the time of collection and harvest and contraindications for their use.

The second one was Amulets which described talismans, charms, crystals, coins and several objects naturally magical; on the contrary to the Ingredients, Amulets could be used by non-magical people due to their innate magical energy. These especial objects are of great value to witches because they enhance their powers, releasing their full potential.

The third section was Spells, and there were detailed descriptions of spell casting, conjuring and the specifications about when, how and what they should be used for.

The forth and last section was the Parallel Magic one. It contained information about a different kind of magic that was balanced with the circle but that it never crossed it, it was better known as Black Magic and there were two kinds of it: the Common and the Pure one. The first one was Back magic practiced by ordinary witches, it was stronger than the circle magic but due to the nature of the ritual any witch that casted it was doomed to perish. The second one was the Original, and it was Black Magic used by especial witches, individuals with unique energy whose true magic was Black. This does not mean, however that the people are evil; they just carry a different energy, more powerful and pure that it is not bounded by the limitations of Common witches. The book explains that this lineage of witches is lost and only the Common ones are left.

Faye explained to me that there is one book of shadow for each witch in the circle, each one with their own spells and information. Diana found the one belonging to her family and that's how they one they were witches.

"Wait" I said confused, "the previous circle was formed by all of our parents, right?"

"Right" Said Diana with a sleepy smile.

"And only one member of each family can form part of the circle, that's why Jake it's not" I stated and they all nodded but I could see that they had no idea of where I was going with this.

"So the original members were the Chamberlains, the Meades, the Glasers, the Conants and the Blakes, but from which circle did the other members came? There is nothing on the book" I explained and they seemed surprised, they looked at each other in wonder. "You never thought about that?" I asked amazed, how could they had not realized about that, hadn't they ever wondered about the family they didn't know?

"Emmm.. no…" Diana admitted.

"Well…" Faye began, "How can we know if they were witches, I mean they could be just regular folks?" she proposed as an explanation.

"But they died in the fire doing witchcraft! That's why they were punished by taking away their magic" I countered, "At least that's what's said in the book, that's what you told me"

"God!" Melissa exclaimed "You are right, how could we not see that?" she asked more to herself.

"So if they were witches…" Faye looked at me and said "Then they should also have books"

"Exactly!" I agreed, "We don't have just five book of shadows missing, we have eleven"

"Jezz! Imagine all the spells that we could learn!" Melissa said excited.

"But we have only found one and that was by chance, how are we gonna find the others? If they haven't been destroyed yet"

"Then lets ask our parents" I suggested. The three shot me a crazy look.

"We can't Cassie if they find out we know about magic…" Melissa said.

"What happens if they do? I mean they were witches and they know that the magic is passed from generation to generation; they already know that we are witches, why can't we tell them and ask? It's not like we're gonna go crazy with magic" I resumed my point.

The three of them remained silent for a few minutes. I could see that Faye was going to speak but she stopped when Diana responded "We just can't risk it Cassie, our parents were punished for using magic the same thing could happen to us, I'm sorry" she gave me a sympathetic smile and I nodded hiding my discomfort.

After the discussion we continued to read the book until 3 A.M when we decided to go to sleep, after all we had school in five hours.

There were two couches on the living room so we used them as beds and we brought pillows and covers to use on the floor. Diana and Faye slept in the couches and Melissa and I did it on the floor. As soon as the lights went out I fell asleep and we all woke up with Diana's wake up alarm.

We got up, disarmed the "beds" and after leaving a note to mom and grandma we headed to a local coffee shop to get some breakfast.

The place was small and simple but clean and comfortable. Faye, Melissa and I sat in a table next to the window whilst Diana went to get our orders.

"Ok" Melissa said as Diana walked toward the bar, "I know someone who can help us find the books that are missing" she said in a whisper.

" Really?!" Faye said both excited and curious. "Who?"

"A woman I met some time ago, it turns out she is a Spilch" she explained with a shrug of her shoulders like if we were making casual talking.

"A what?" I asked confused, I had never that word before.

"A Spilch is someone with magic but that is not a witch, they can't cast spells or anything but they deal more with spirits and such" Faye took the book from her bag and handed it to me "Here, it's all there just read it"

"Okay" I said as I took it, "Are you sure that we can trust her?" The last thing we needed was a stranger knowing what we were.

"Of course, witches and Spilchs have always worked together, she is cool" Melissa assured me.

"Well I'm in" Faye said eagerly and looked my way. I thought about it for a minute and decided there was no harm in trying, "Ok" I said "I'm in too"

"Perfect!" Faye exclaimed "but lest not tell the rest, we'll do this alone"

"Why?"

"Because Diana won't want us to do it and she will convince the entire group" Faye said annoyed.

I was reluctant, on the one hand I didn't want to do it behind Diana's back, but on the other I knew the Faye was right, Diana was starting to get overly responsible for the group and had even started to try and pull us away from magic.

"Fine"

"Okay, I'll call her today and set a date" Said Melissa.

I put the book in my backpack and I saw Diana coming our way with a tray and our breakfast. She laid it on the table and sat on an empty chair.

"We should hurry or we're gonna get late" she said looking at the clock on the wall.

"Yes mom" Faye mocked her as she took her food.
