Zeera
She was tied up to the wall, with many links of slightly glowing chains, to bind her physically and magically. The mercenaries weren't taking any chances since she had already killed a good two thirds of them, Jamie reacting fast enough to kill another quarter. Now she was chained vigorously, and Jamie was in a magically binding circle, Annie was in another, Leon and Gen had been buried up to their heads, the only way to prevent them from moving. Kaitlyn had managed to slip away during the conflict, but Rose was lying on the ground injured, bleeding from the mouth. Annie screamed, and Jamie roared louder than a thousand battle cries, and released a burst of energy so strong he broke the barrier, and created a window. He fired a blast at Rose and fell to the ground exhausted. The barrier repaired itself.
The blast hit rose and her teeth regrew, her wounds closed themselves and her blood on the ground dried immediately. She laid there breathing heavily until the main mercenary stood by her, and gave her a kick in the ribs. She moaned and rolled over, looking at the feather that had fallen out of her hair. The mercenary saw the feather and stood on it, twisting his leg and grinding it into the dust.
Rose snapped.
But like literally, Snapped
She screamed at the sight of her feather being crushed and took attacked the pair of legs infront of her. Her attacker fell to the ground in a heap. Rose drew an arrow and stabbed it right into his heart. As the group nocked arrows, she blinked behind them, and nocked several arrows, and released them all at the same time, killing every other attacker. She huffed. The barriers went down, and the glowing of Zeeras chains stopped. She activated her ancestors wrath and became wreathed in flames, melting her chains to a puddle of reflective silver. And walked towards Rose, giving out her hand.
Rose didn't take her hand, not in a mood to be humoured by the hilarity of burning after she had just been bashed.
"Well, that was a thing" Gen said, from her lovely dirt prison. She groaned and lifted herself from the ground, muscles straining. Everyone stared at her in awe, wondering how she had the strength to pull off such a feat, and why she didn't do it earlier.
"And you didn't do that earlier because…" Zeera began, expecting an answer, waving her hands, implying a 'finish my sentence'
Gen shrugged and smiled at her but as she opened her mouth to respond she shut it and walked to one of the mercenaries, picking up a note from their loose pocket. She read it, and a grave look flashed on her face. She passed the note, and the only people who didn't react badly were Jamie, who appeared to make no reaction, Zeera, who started laughing and skipped to give it to Kaitlyn, who didn't really mind.
"So…" Annie murmured.
Jamie let the paper fall as a huge party moved by, what appeared to be the Jarl of Whiterun's guard and servants. An especially young girl winked at Leon despite his soft bed of dirt. Annie saw that and flashed a smile at her before charging a fireball and holding it infront of her. The other girl laughed and drew her dagger. Annie only rolled her eyes as the girl walked towards her, But as she was about to release, Jamie threw up a ward, and the fireball harmlessly exploded in front of the girl.
"Jamie" Annie glared
"Oh thank you sooooo much" The girl said, clinging to Jamies arm.
Jamie turned to Annie, "I see why you didn't like her"
Jamie shrugged off the girl, along with her gasp and stunned body language
"Excuse me, I'll have you know I am a legitimate business owner!" Said the girl
"And your with the Jarl because…" Leon said, With Zeera rolling her hand in that same 'finish the sentence' motion.
The girl's tongue stumbled, "I-i-i-i… I was, before I ticked off some competition"
"Ah, so your on the run from the khajiit" Jamie remarked
The girls eyes opened wide and her jaw dropped for half a second, before it snapped shut. Of course. He deduced it, she was protected by the jarl, but if it was anyone but the khajiit they wouldn't be able to protect her well enough.
She groaned, but immediately flashed a smile and twiddled her hair afterwards. "You're smart. Too smart" she added quickly afterwards
"I've been told that by a few dead people" Jamie remarked, tapping his chin
"You killed them for saying you're too smart?"
"No, I killed them for attacking me, or attempting to capture me, I don't know, I killed them before they could do anything."
"Nice to meet you, I guess. I'm Bryony."
"I'm Monatopa. This is my crew. We're looking for a certain mine, rumoured to have a vein of rare finely compressed diamonds"
Kaitlyn and Leon looked at Jamie, with blank expressions, except for the slightest hint of confusion, but everyone else got it and went along with it
Annie punched Jamie "Don't tell her that!"
Jamie Laughed heartily. "Well, this Sheela could come with us if she wanted. Bryony isn't it?"
"Yes, and I wouldn't mind it. I may be rather useful, I can be very persuasive."
"Just don't be a burden" Gen grunted, still dusting off the dirt from her prison.
Bryony started twiddling her hair. "So why's your friend underground? And who are all these dead people?"
Zeera sneered at her cockily and took out a vile of vivid red liquid, tossing it in her hands. Throwing and catching, throwing and catching, until Jamie's hand shot out and put it back in Zeeras pocket. "Hunh, they picked a fight, but they caught some of us by surprise and we were captured, but by that point rose Flipped Out, and um. You know they… ah… died." Zeera finished with a knowing grin.
"Hm, they must have been from him." Jamie deduced not saying directly to anyone, more on a whole to the world.
"Who?" Bryony questioned, wondering whether she was supposed to have heard that.
"Just an angry business opposition" Leon said. A few seconds afterwards he added "could anyone get me out from here?"
Ace
"Don't go" The words played over and over in his head. The man who died in the cave said those two words to him before he died. When people asked him what it said he only replied with a simple grunt. Everyone was awaiting his orders, wether to go or not to go. There are the odds that whatever did it would be able to be defeated by even more people but there were also the odds that, since the best survivor out of them all died, the thing would be more powerful than they would be able to handle. 'Well from here on out how hard can it be' the imperial side of him thought
'Yeah, how hard can killing all your men be' the moral side of him snapped.
He sat there for a few minutes, listening to his own mind, pondering over this internal debate, until he reached a conclusion… He would be in bigger trouble with his commanders if he didn't save the eggs this way, so he decided to do it. He rallied his men and prepared, heading into the same inky darkness Laszlo died in, to find said orc waiting inside, wearing a crown of bones.
They all screamed, and the sound only got shriller when his huge blade took out half of the front line, with a bloody swing. The next swing would have taken out another quarter had ace not blocked the blow with his mighty shield, Spellbreaker. As some of the other draugur fire ice bolts at him, the shield created a powerful ward which shattered the ice harmlessly. His men began to take this defence from ace as a moral boost and charged, taking out lesser draugur, but Laszlo wasn't dying soon, and took a one on one stance with ace. They fought relentlessly, Ace forced to take a defensive stance with his magical shield, the only thing capable of taking a hit from that huge ebony greatsword, without any damage, proven when an officers was split in two, along with his shield, after a blow. He had trained in the kings shield form of fighting, which involved on wearing down the enemy, all the while defending yourself. But Laszlo was a master of the break-everything-in-sight style, which was an even match for his prowess. But Laszlo had somehow become smarter upon death. He managed to flip his shield out, opening Ace's arms like he was asking for a big hug, which was going to have been granted.
Laszlo charged his sword with an incredibly powerful electric current and swung with all his might.
Lieutenant
He ran as fast as his blood-stained legs would take him. He stumbled through, trying to find ace.
What part of Don't go doesn't that guy get!
So he was stumbling through the darkness, until he reached the ornately carved door where the beast resided. He ran through just in time to see Ace's huge shield flipped out and him giving Laszlo a hug. He ran, and time seemed to slow, but he could not care less, as he pushed down ace and Laszlo slid his blade into the lieutenants chest. The brave, brave man took out his metal sword, and he unravelled the hilt, leaving purely metal. The metal reacted to the current of Laszlo's blade and became supercharged. He stabbed Laszlo directly in the heart. While this wouldn't kill him normally, since he didn't need his heart, the electric current of the blade disintegrated the both of them, leaving a large pile of ash. As the draugur stopped briefly at the sight the loss of their commander, Ace rallied his troops, and lead the charge, lowering his visor to hide the salty tears in his eyes.
He was my friend.
