Life is a bitch. Let's just leave it at that. We are now into mid Sept of the same year. I know this is short but more will come soon. XOXO -TGP

Severus pinched the bridge of his nose for what felt like the thousandth time that day. Poppy stood in front of him with a tired and pained expression.

"I am sorry Severus, there isn't anything else I can-" "There has to be something you haven't tried witch!" He shouted flinging his arms out in front of himself making the matron flinch. "The love of my life and our child have been unconscious for a month. Do you understand that at all?"

Poppy felt her eyes fill up with tears as Severus looked at her with broken eyes after he fell into the now-worn leather chair beside Hermione. "A month it has been Poppy…"

It had taken a few days before Poppy was able to convince Severus to leave Hermione's side and at least use the loo for more than the toilet. Harry had been by after hearing about the attack through the Ministry and he had even been able to keep the Profit out of things for the time being. Severus had barely looked up whenever he had been by and the trays of food that was left behind by the house-elves lay uneaten on his side table.

The students had taken back to residency of the school by the time there was any progress with Hermione's health. The spell was finally breaking its hold on her and finally her skin was returning to its normal pallor and her heart rate wasn't always fluttering. They had been transferred back to a private room before term started to keep the news of their Potion Masters lover and their child out of the gossip.

Severus had been given the option to see their baby after hearing it's heartbeat the first time but the pain of hearing Hermione's flutter along with the racing beat of their child's was too much to bear.

He had been building his syllabus for the interim apprentice from St. Mungo's to teach until Hermione was out of the woods. Minerva had been surprisingly delicate with him when she had asked about her condition and what that would mean for his teaching schedule and had been more than understanding when he had said he wouldn't be able to teach until spring term most likely.

It was a Tuesday morning right before lunch when things changed.

Severus had been reading the latest potions journal out of Germany and marking all the mistakes that had been made when it happened. Hermione's hand twitched and a moan escaped her lips. Severus felt his heart stop beating and he slowly put down the journal and quill before striding over to her side.

Grasping her hand in his, Severus stroked her hair back just as Hermione's eyes fluttered open. "Sev-rus?" Hermione groaned and lifted her hips off the bed. "Wha' happen' love?" she said.

Severus combed her hair out of her glazed eyes and a smile broke through his lips for the first time in weeks. "Oh love you have no idea what you have done to me."
