This is the conclusion to my Trust Me story. This will not be my last story of Misu/Shingyouji. See end author's note for more about this. This chapter does have a little mature content, but not like my two last chapters. I decide to give them some privacy on their last night at Shidou together.
Thank you for reading, it makes me happy knowing you're out there enjoy this story.
Misu stood before the bathroom mirror. He ran a brush through his hair. He straightened his tie and smoothed out his jacket. He unconsciously checked his pocket for the third time since that morning. In the bedroom he slipped on his shoes and looked around the room. Half of his room was packed. He had the rest to do later in the afternoon in preparation to leave campus the next day. He exited the bedroom and joined the rest of the school heading to the school auditorium for the graduation. Takumi had already left earlier with Gii and his parents. His own mother would be waiting to see him after the ceremony.
He entered the hall and found his homeroom classmates. Takumi had saved the seat next to him. Gii offered a smile from Takumi's other side. Misu only nodded his head in acknowledgement of his presence. He glanced back at the quickly filling hall. His eyes scanned for Shingyouji but did not see him. The hall was too full of other people.
The ceremony passed quickly. With short speeches from a teacher, Gii and another student and then each classroom representative accepting the diplomas. The students filed out quickly to the courtyard , to the waiting families and lower classmen. Misu wandered the courtyard and found his mother. As he approached her he noticed Shingyouji standing beyond her, holding a bouquet of red roses, looking away from him. Misu's stepped faltered for a moment.
"Hello Mother."
"Congratulations."
"Thank you. Would you like to have some tea before you head back to your hotel?"
"Yes, thank you."
Misu glanced over his mother's shoulder at Shingyouji, whose eyes were still scanning the crowd. Shingyouji turned away from Misu and suddenly smiled. Misu looked over to see Gii leading Takumi towards Shingyouji. Shingyouji held out the bundle of roses and handed them to Takumi. Misu couldn't hear the words but could see Takumi's happy expression as he turned to Gii, grabbing for Gii's hand. Takumi's eyes met Misu's for a brief moment. Takumi looked back to Shingyouji and whispered something. Shingyouji looked in his direction just as his mother glanced over to see what he was looking at.
"Are they friends of yours?"
"Some of them are. One is my roommate."
"Will you introduce me?"
Misu stared at Shingyouji for moment then looked to his mother.
"Yes." Misu lead his mother over. "Mother this is Saki Giichi, Hayama Takumi and Shingyouji Kanemitsu. Hayama is my roommate. This is my mother Misu Natsu."
"Pleasure to meet you." Natsu said. The three boys bowed. "Though Saki-kun, I believe we've met before?"
"Yes Misu-san, you know my parents."
"Saki and Hayama are graduating today as well. And Shingyouji is my." Misu hesitated.
"Friend." Shingyouji offered. Misu stared at Shingyouji for a moment, his hand went to his pocket again without realizing it.
"Yes, my friend."
"Shingyouji Kanemitsu?" Natsu whispered to Misu, asking as if to confirm his name. Misu nodded his head. "Shingyouji-kun, are you not graduating this year?"
"No, I graduate next year."
"Excuse us," Gii interrupted, "my parents are waiting for us."
"Will you offer them my congratulations on your graduation?" Natsu said.
"I will, thank you."
Gii bowed to Natsu and took Takumi's hand, leading him away. Takumi stopped him and turned to Shingyouji. He pulled one rose from his bouquet and handed it to the boy. He then turned to Natsu and bowed.
"It was an honor to meet you, Misu-san."
Gii pulled Takumi close to his side as they walked away. Natsu shook her head and pursed her lips as she watched them leave.
"They seemed to be very close. And he was your roommate? I hope he didn't give you too much trouble." Misu watched Shingyouji as his mother spoke. The boy kept his head down looking at the rose. Natsu turned to Shingyouji. "If you will excuse us as well, my son and I were just about go have some tea."
Shingyouji's head popped up, then bowed. "Of course. I will see you later, Arata-san." Shingyouji started to back away.
Misu raised his hand. "Wait. Mother, would you mind if Shingyouji joined us?"
Natsu looked at her son and smiled. "No I don't mind. It would be interesting to finally sit with one of your friends." Natsu turned to Shingyouji and suddenly took him by the arm leading him away from Misu. "Do you know this is the first time he's asked me to sit with any of his friends for longer than 5 minutes. You must be a very special friend." Misu tripped over his own feet. Natsu turned to look at him. Shingyouji just blushed. "Arata are you alright?"
"Yes mother. They've set up the tea over in this section, if you wish to follow me."
Misu lead them to the classroom that had been converted to a lounge for tea. At the front of the room they picked up their tea and found a table at the side of the room.
"Shingyouji-kun, if you are not graduating this year, does that mean you will be a third year this coming year?"
"Yes Misu-san. I am one year behind Arata-san."
"I am sorry to hear that."
"Mother?"
"Oh I was just thinking that if you found a good friend it would be unfortunate if a year's time puts too much distance between you. If he was the same year, then it would be easier to stay close."
"Arata-san and I already have plans to stay in touch."
"Shingyouji."
Shingyouji lowered his head and picked up his tea. He started to sip it quickly.
"Really? I am happy to hear that. In fact, Shingyouji-kun I would be very happy if you would come out and visit us during one of your holidays when Arata is home. Arata should introduce you to his father."
Shingyouji lifted his head. He looked at Natsu first, then Misu. "Yes I would like that very much."
"Speaking of holidays, Arata. I never really asked you, how was your trip to the city for the new year? Your father and I were sorry you couldn't spend the whole holiday with us, but I hope you were able to enjoy yourself."
Shingyouji sipped quickly at his tea again.
"It was fine mother. I am sorry for leaving early like that."
"It's okay Arata. Did you enjoy that hotel? I've been trying to convince your father we need to take a romantic vacation and from what I've seen that one is very nice. And your father has that business account with them."
"I am not sure if you would enjoy it mother. It is really more of a business hotel."
"But it has a really nice spa." Shingyouji blurted out. Misu closed his eyes for a second. "I mean that's what Arata-san told me when he came back from holiday."
"I am sure he did. Being that he is your good friend he would have told you all about his trip."
"Yes mother."
Natsu set her tea down and reached across the table, picking up the rose Takumi had given to Shingyouji.
"Your roommate, Hayama-kun, is quite the flirt isn't he?" Shingyouji couldn't stop himself from laughing. "Did I say something funny?"
"I apologize Misu-san." Shingyouji said.
"No mother, it isn't funny, but if you knew Hayama you would understand how opposite he is from being a flirt."
"Oh, then, he wasn't, with the rose."
"No mother, he wasn't."
"Good, that's good." Natsu set the rose down on the table and looked in her now empty tea cup. "Arata, have you finished packing?"
"No, I was going to have…"
"Good, then while you go finish packing I can spend some more time with Shingyouji-kun."
"But."
Natsu stood up. "Come on Shingyouji-kun, you can show me your favorite spot on campus."
Shingyouji looked to Misu. Misu sighed and nodded his head. Shingyouji stood up and Natsu took him by the arm again. They disappeared quickly through the door leaving Misu sitting alone. He cleared the table of the tea cups and picked up the forgotten rose. He carried it with him back to his room. He was surprised to find Takumi there.
"Hayama I thought you were with Saki."
"I am headed back out now. I needed my coat. His parents are taking us to town for dinner. It was nice to meet your mother."
Takumi moved towards the door.
"She thought you were a flirt." Takumi stopped and looked at Misu. "Because of the rose." Misu lifted the rose he had carried back.
"I gave that to Shingyouji-kun so he could give it to you later. I wasn't flirting with him."
"I know Hayama." Takumi turned back to the door.
"Misu-kun?"
"Yes Hayama?"
"Thank you."
"Thank you?"
"For being my friend."
Takumi turned his head and looked at Misu. Misu smiled. "Have a good time tonight Hayama."
"You too Misu-kun."
Takumi turned away and stepped out of the room.
Room packed and cleaned, clothes changed, pocket checked, empty, fixed, hair combed, teeth brushed, pocket checked, clock glanced at, shoes on. Waiting. As all his books were packed, Misu sat at his desk staring at the rose. Finally there was a knock at the door. Misu stood as Shingyouji and his mother entered the room. Both were smiling.
"Did you have fun?"
"Yes Arata, I enjoyed Shingyouji-kun's company. He showed many great places on campus. Arata I am very happy you made a friend like Shingyouji-kun. He is wonderful." Shingyouji stood behind Natsu, his head bowed, but looking up at Misu. Natsu stepped closer to Misu. "Arata, I do insist that Shingyouji-kun visit us. I want him to meet your father." Then said almost so that Misu didn't hear, "He will need time." Natsu stepped away suddenly. "Arata I must be interrupting your celebrations for the evening. I will go. I will see you tomorrow morning." She turned to Shingyouji and bowed. He returned the bow. "Shingyouji-kun, it has been a true pleasure to meet you. Please take care of my Arata. And I look forward to our next meeting."
Natsu breezed out of the room as quickly as she entered, leaving the two standing alone in the sudden quiet. Shingyouji's eyes traveled the emptied room for the first time. Misu could see the smile fade from his face. He took three quick steps to Shingyouji, wrapping his arms around his body, pulling him tight against his chest. He held him close. Shingyouji made no noise, but Misu could feel the light drops of tears as they touched his shoulder and soaked into his shirt. He moved one hand up to Shingyouji's head and held him securely in his embrace for several minutes.
Misu felt Shingyouji take a large deep breath and start to pull away. Misu released Shingyouji and stepped back. Shingyouji's eyes were red, but mostly dry. Shingyouji wiped away the remaining tears on his cheeks as Misu pretended to look away.
"Did you enjoy your time with my mother Shingyouji?"
"Yes Arata-san, she was very nice to me. She wanted to know a lot about me. Did you really keep your friends away from her?"
"I wasn't keeping them away from her, I didn't have any that I thought were important enough to meet my parents." Shingyouji eyes kept drifting around the room. "Shingyouji would you like to go somewhere else?" Shingyouji nodded his head. "My mother asked you to take her to your favorite place on campus. Where did you go?"
Shingyouji looked down and smiled. "I didn't show her my favorite place."
"Will you show me?"
"Yes Arata-san." Shingyouji looked down at himself. "But can I change out of my uniform first?"
Misu grabbed Shingyouji's tie and pulled him closer. He placed a long kiss on Shingyouji's lips. He released his hold on the tie and gently pushed Shingyouji back.
"Yes, now you can change."
Misu grabbed his jacket and and walked Shingyouji to his bedroom. He waited outside his room while Shingyouji changed. When Shingyouji exited his room he was wearing the anime hoodie Misu had bought for him on new years. Misu took Shingyouji's hand and for the first time Shingyouji lead them to their destination, directly in front of the Executive Room.
"Shingyouji this is your favorite room?"
"Yes Arata-san."
"Even after all the studying I made you do here?"
"Yes Arata-san."
"Would you like to go in?"
"Can we?"
"Yes, I still have the key, I turn it in tomorrow before I leave."
Misu opened the door and lead Shingyouji into the room. The room was unchanged from any other time they had visited. Misu walked to the table and pulled out Shingyouji's normal chair. He indicated for Shingyouji to sit. Shingyouji took his seat, his hands in his lap. Misu stood behind the chair, his hands resting on the back, looking down at Shingyouji.
"Arata-san?"
"Yes Shingyouji?"
"I won't be able to say goodbye to you tomorrow. The second years are expected to finish cleaning the classrooms before we leave, and I still have to pack."
Misu moved his hands onto Shingyouji's shoulders.
"I understand. We will have our good-byes tonight."
Misu let one hand drop to his pocket and stay there for a moment.
"Shingyouji?"
Shingyouji turned his head to look up at Misu. "Yes Arata-san?"
"I have something I want to give you." Misu pulled a small box from his pocket. Shingyouji started to look down. "No. Face forward."
Shingyouji turned back in his chair looking away from Misu. Misu opened the box. He pulled out one of the items inside. A fine gold necklace. He pulled it free of the box and held it up between his fingers. He slipped the box back into his pocket. He undid the necklace clasp and let one end fall free. As he let it twist between his fingers he moved it around and held it before Shingyouji's eyes. Shingyouji reached up for it but Misu pulled it away.
"Let me put it on."
Shingyouji leaned forward in the chair exposing the back of his neck. Misu reached around Shingyouji's neck letting his fingers slide through his hair and across his smooth skin. He grabbed the free end of the necklace and pulled it back, letting his fingers glide against Shingyouji's neck as he brought the ends of the necklace around and clasped them together. Shingyouji slowly lifted his head as Misu stepped around the chair to look down at him. The chain fit awkwardly over Shingyouji's hoodie.
Misu grabbed the side chair and pulled it over next to Shingyouji. He reached up and adjusted the necklace, letting it fall to the inside of Shingyouji's hoodie, out of sight. He let his right hand linger against the side of Shingyouji's face for a moment. Shingyouji leaned into him. Misu slowly lowered his hand back into his own lap.
Shingyouji looked up at him and smiled. "Thank you Arata-san."
"My pet needs a leash before I leave."
Shingyouji laughed. "Arata-san, this looks more like a collar than a leash."
"You don't like it? I can take it back." Misu leaned forward.
Shingyouji's hands shot to his neck. "No, that's not what I meant."
"You just think it looks more like a collar than a leash."
"It is around my neck." Shingyouji's face started to blush as he lowered his head.
"And you don't want me to put a collar on you?"
"No, that's not.." Shingyouji started and stopped.
"So you do want me to collar you?"
"Yes, no, Arata-san." Shingyouji's blush deepened as he lowered his head even further.
Misu reached into his pocket again and pulled the box back out. Shingyouji turned his head slightly to look at Misu's hands. Misu opened the box and reached inside to pull the last item out, holding it tightly in his hand.
"Shingyouji, you are right, it doesn't look like a leash. But I call it a leash, because it does attach to the collar."
Misu held his closed hand forward under Shingyouji's bowed head and opened his fingers. In his palm rested a plain gold ring. Shingyouji sat upright his eyes wide as he looked up to Misu.
"Arata-san?"
"Shingyouji, this is your collar. This is for the rest of the world to know that you belong to someone. That you belong to me."
"Arata-san?" Shingyouji repeated.
"Next year as you will be here without me. I want to leave something to make sure no one thinks they can take what's mine."
"You don't trust me Arata-san?"
"I trust you Shingyouji. I don't trust them. Will you wear it Shingyouji?"
Shingyouji looked back down at the ring still sitting in Misu's hand. He slowly picked it up and held it before him. "Yes Arata-san." Shingyouji looked down at his chest. "Um?"
"Would you like me to put it on?"
Shingyouji smiled and nodded his head. "Yes Arata-san."
Misu held out his hand and Shingyouji returned the ring. Misu leaned in close to Shingyouji, and reached around his neck. He undid the necklace clasp and slid the ring into place. With two tries he was able to re-do the clasp. As he started to pull back, he felt Shingyouji's hand wrap around the back of his head and hold him in place. He allowed himself to remain pressed into the hug for a moment.
Misu lifted his right hand and ran it through Shingyouji's hair. He turned his head slightly and placed a kiss along against Shingyouji's cheek. Shingyouji slid his hand down along Misu's back. Misu moved along Shingyouji's cheek until he found his lips. Shingyouji was waiting for him, his mouth half open. Misu pushed his tongue forward and met Shingyouji's part way. Misu memorized the feel of Shingyouji's kiss, his touch, his taste. He sucked on Shingyouji's tongue, one hand sliding through his hair, the other along his back. He pulled Shingyouji harder into his kiss. Pressing almost to the point of pain. He slid his hand under Shingyouji's hoodie to touch his skin. His body moved forward and forced Shingyouji's legs to move open. He moved his right hand down to meet his left hand at Shingyouji's waist. With both hands he pulled on Shingyouji, not breaking the kiss. Shingyouji moved off his chair into Misu's lap until he was straddling Misu, his head now slightly higher than Misu's.
The ring dangled freely between the two of them as Shingyouji leaned into Misu. Misu wrapped his hands tight around Shingyouji's waist pulling him against his body. His hands sliding under the hoodie again, his fingers pressed against Shingyouji's soft skin. Shingyouji placed his hands on Misu's shoulders to hold himself steady. Their lips and tongues meeting and parting, Shingyouji pushing down from above and Misu leaning up into him. Slowly Misu decreased the urgency of his kiss and Shingyouji followed his lead. As he leaned backwards the ring swung out from the chain. Misu reached up and held it between his fingers. It sparkled in the rooms light.
"Do you like your collar Shingyouji?"
Shingyouji looked Misu in the eye. "Yes Arata-san."
"Do you like wearing your collar Shingyouji?"
Shingyouji lowered his head slightly but did not break eye contact. "Yes Arata-san."
"Good."
Shingyouji shifted his position in Misu's lap. Misu took in a long breath as his eyes closed. His hands tightened around Shingyouji's waist. The boy shifted again, and another deep breath.
"Arata-san?"
"Quiet and stop moving."
After a few more controlled breathes Misu opened his eyes. Shingyouji was staring down at him. Misu brought his hand up and brushed some hair out of Shingyouji's face. He ran his fingers in Shingyouji's hair, over his ear, traced along his jawline and stroked his cheek. Shingyouji's eyes closed partially as Misu dragged his thumb softly over his lips.
"Shingyouji?"
"Yes Arata-san?"
Misu's other hand still under the hoodie, ran his fingers up Shingyouji's back. "You can move now."
Shingyouji looked around the room and then back at Misu. "Arata-san, here?"
"You did say it was your favorite room."
"Won't we get caught?"
Misu wrapped his hand around Shingyouji's head and pulled him down. Shingyouji responded with his lips and tongue. His hand wrapping into Misu's hair. Pressing his body as tight as possible against Misu. Misu moved his kisses over to Shingyouji's ear.
"No one will know we're here. Lie down over there, I'll get the light."
Shingyouji pushed himself up from Misu's embrace his hand reaching for the table. Misu also a little unsteady walked to the door and slid the lock in place. He turned to see that Shingyouji was lying down on the opposite side of the table nearly hidden from view. He had removed his hoodie and was using it as a makeshift blanket on the carpet. Misu flipped the switch and the room fell into darkness. The only light coming from the hallway under the door. Misu slowly made his way back across the room, avoiding the furniture the best he could.
"Shingyouji?"
"Here Arata-san."
Misu turned in his direction. A few more steps and he was by his side. He maneuvered himself down to lay next to Shingyouji, with one arm draped over Shingyouji's chest. In the darkness he searched out and found Shingyouji's waiting lips. After a moment he felt Shingyouji's hand pushing against his chest. He leaned back.
"Arata-san."
"Yes Shingyouji?"
"I love you."
Misu smiled into the darkness and lowered his head again finding Shingyouji's mouth instantly. He slid his hand along Shingyouji's naked chest, searching for and finding the chain. The leash. His fingers moved along it until they wrapped around the ring. The collar. He held both tight in his hand as he kissed Shingyouji. Mine.
Epilog (or preview of story 2):
The train was running 10 minutes late. Misu stood on the platform awaiting its arrival. He shared the space with other summer travelers either waiting to catch the train or waiting for a passenger on the train, as he was. Soon the platform was filled with the chaos of the train's arrival. Misu scanned the crowd, but did not yet spot his target. Misu stepped back from the mass of people to get a better view.
He looked to the train cars, and there, finally stepping off, was Shingyouji. Misu smiled to himself as he watched. Shingyouji stepped on to the platform, bag over his shoulder, his eyes forward. Misu raised his hand. Shingyouji suddenly turned around. A boy who looked to be slightly younger than Shingyouji jumped off the train stairs and ran up to Shingyouji. He grabbed Shingyouji's hand, winding their fingers together. Misu took two involuntarily steps forward. The boy turned Shingyouji back around, both boys smiling. Shingyouji turned his head and looked up and met Misu's eyes. The smile froze and Shingyouji's eyes opened wide.
"Arata-san? I didn't expect you to be here."
"Obviously. My class was canceled so I came to get you instead of my mother."
"So you're Misu-kun. I've been looking forward to meeting you." Misu looked at the boy.
"And you are?"
"Can't you guess?" The boy held up his hand holding Shingyouji's. Misu turned his attention back to Shingyouji. Tears were forming in Shingyouji's eyes.
"Arata-san, please."
Misu looked down to at their locked hands then back up to Shingyouji's pained face.
"Shingyouji, stop."
Author's note: So I am ending this on a cliff hanger. Sorry. But I wanted to leave a teaser for the next section I have planned for these two. It won't be coming out right away as I want to add a chapter or two to the Gii/Takumi story and I am actually working on a real book with my own characters. Something I haven't done in forever and I owe it to these two for inspiration.
Once again thank you all for reading and following my story with Misu and Shingyouji. My hope is I made everyone's day a little brighter by giving these two a longer story outside the movies. I am happy I found this community and look forward to see what others have to share.
