Previously…

The trees behind Sam rustled, and out of them prowled a huge black horse, with a long waving mane and tail, and the same black jaguar from earlier. A few steps behind, Wyllow returned. The huge black Friesian horse reared back and shrunk into a human shape. She was very slim, and wore all brown. On her torso, she wore a tight brown long-sleeved top, with black arm guards. She had dark brown leggings, and everything was made of the same tough material as the top. Her hair was long, black and flowing, with a shorter section tied in a gold band. Around her neck, she had a leather necklace with a deep red pendant. She glanced at Wyllow, who shifted back to her human self, with waist-length fawn coloured hair, and a long braid hanging over her shoulder (a basic image of the tribe is available on the Facebook page, but Wyllow's dress and the boys' shorts had to be changed).

Shane almost jumped off my shoulder, and shifted back to his human self to stand by his companions. The last to change was the black jaguar. He shook all over and managed to end up in his shorts. This boy had the same colour skin as the horse-girl, but instead of being slim and beautiful, he was muscly and handsome. His hair was also black, but slightly longer than Shane's falling around his head in ruffles. A long piece of hair came over his shoulder, the same band of gold holding his as it did the horse-girl's.

"I am Skye Redwynd," Said the horse-girl.

"I am Ryan Redwynd, Sky's sister. This is Wyllow Whitebrooke," Said the black-haired boy pointing at Wyllow.

"And I'm Shane, Shane Black."

Jacob turned around and padded into the woods. He returned, as dressed as he ever was, and said, "I'm Jacob, Jacob Black."

At that, Skye Redwynd raised an eyebrow.

"I'm the Alpha of this pack. We didn't know if more of our kind existed." Jacob tried his big politics voice. Tried and failed.

"You must have seen Wyllow before." Ryan tried. "She told us of a time she was almost hunted by her father." looking at me "I presume his companion was your mother." He addressed me directly this time. Leah shifted back to her human-self, fully clothed as girls managed to be. Ryan spotted her and went all gaspy for a moment. "Would you accompany me for a walk?" he asked her. She nodded and the two left the glade, Leah slightly bewildered.

"He's imprinted." Skye confirmed. Leah would be happy. She had the perfect man, all to herself. Well, I already had the perfect man, but she could take next best. "I am leader of our tribe, and we have come to investigate large numbers of our kind in the area. You live with vampires." She said with disgust. "You accept and tolerate them and even befriend them. They are murderers, killers, and we must kill them in turn. We came to set you right."

"I'll have you know that I'm a vampire thank you very much." I blasted in her face.

"You're welcome." She replied bluntly.

"We don't drink human blood. We live off animals, we hunt every few days. And I for one have never killed a human in my life!" I shouted. How could she accuse my family when she didn't even know us?

"We know all about you and your ways. You are lucky that one of my kind chose you as their mate. You'd be dead by now if it was any different." She spat.

"That's enough. You have no right to come here and start shouting at my girlfriend and her family. The Volturi maybe, but not her family. Because they're my family too, and this is my territory." Jacob growled. He was cute when he got all protective.

"I think we've outstayed our welcome," offered Shane nervously, still not fully recovered from his tumble with Jacob and Sam earlier.

"You could say that," another voice growled. I looked around, but saw only Skye, Shane, Jacob and the wolves. Wyllow had disappeared, but she couldn't make that sort of sound. Luke stepped out of the trees and walked straight over to me and Jacob. Jacob stood straight, but Luke kept walking and flung his arms around Jacob like old friends. "You OK?" He asked as if he hadn't just almost killed Jacob. On purpose.

"What was that?" asked a baffled Jacob.

"That was me being grateful that what he said is true." Luke answered, indicating in Shane's direction.

"What did I say?" Shane looked confused.

"Remember when you explained that because of shifters' extreme healing abilities: as long as you don't cut the breathing tube, you can break any bone in their body, even the spine. And so I managed to disable you for long enough for it to appear you were dead." Luke finished.

"So you decided not to tell me that you weren't going to kill me, just let me almost kill you." Jacob sighed.

"You had no chance against the art of disappearing." Luke gloated.

"Oh, is that so?"

"Well you needed to be convincing, and I don't know how good an actor you are. I decided to let everyone there believe you were dead, even Nessie." Luke explained. "It worked," he said before I could protest.

"The Volturi will find out eventually." I said.

"They know nothing about our kind, or how we can be killed."

"So we just tell the truth and hope Aro doesn't interview luke." I suggested.

"Mind blanking, remember?" Luke reminded me.

"HE CAN SEE YOUR PAST THOUGHTS TOO. I'M NOT A COMPLETE IDIOT." I said clearly.

"OK, I never knew that." He sighed.

"So when he read you earlier you were thinking 'I want to kill Jacob'? Great." I said.

"Thanks." Jacob joined in.

"I wasn't. I just didn't realise that's how he knew. I thought you were the one thinking that." Luke defended.

"Why would I do that?" Jacob butted in.

"OK, break it up." Leah was back. "Look, I don't know what you're squabbling about but it seems trivial. I have just found my soul-mate, and he is part of that tribe. Therefore, YOU," she pointed at Skye, "and YOU," she pointed at Jacob, "had better sort out your problems without damaging the age old tribal law."

"Yes, we must unite, and decide how this is going to work. My tribe wants you to kill these vampires, but my girl Leah's tribe seem to have a treaty. In all respects, I think the treaty now applies to us as well." Ryan agreed.

"I hate politics," I said and started to walk towards the woods. I went all the way to Cherry's hollow, before remembering she was called Wyllow. I curled up inside and tried to let the events of the day so far sink in. Jacob had nearly died, we'd discovered a new tribe, they wanted to kill me, Ran and Leah imprinted on each other and now the two tribes were discussing ways to work. Why they were staying here, I didn't know, but it seemed they weren't leaving any time soon.

Then it struck me. Shane had said he was called Shane Black, the same as Jacob. They were fairly similar, with the same eyes, attitude and smile. Was it even possible? Jacob had two sisters, both older than him, and his mother had died the year of his birth. I decided to investigate later.

"Hey, what are you sulking out here for?" Luke said from behind the tree I was snuggled under.

"What's happening? Everything is so messed up; I want life to go back to normal." I said, but I couldn't help thinking that things had never been normal. At least since the dawn of the supernatural.

"I'm afraid that's impossible," a quiet voice said. I looked around to see who's said it, but it was behind the tree, where Luke was.

I climbed out of my hollow and looked up. Wyllow was gazing at Luke and Luke was flitting glances between me and her.

"You're the one, the reason I was drawn here…" Wyllow almost whispered. She snapped back to reality. "Sorry, I've just realised why I felt a pull to this place."

"I thought your tribe came to kill the vampires." I objected.

"So did I. When I first met Shane, I had been following a pull to this area. When they offered me a place in their tribe, I took it because I thought they'd be able to help me. They dismissed my obsession with coming here as first-phase-urges: when you first phase, you know you want to get rid of something, wipe it out, but you don't know what. Thing is, I did know, and it definitely wasn't an urge to hunt.

When I arrived, I was no longer sure that I was right, that I could have just been following a hunter's instinct. I told the others I was no longer sure, so they decided to make the most of the visit and 'do their duty'. Thing is, I'm the only one who'd ever seen an actual vampire before now, when the emperor and his little girlfriend personally murdered my father. I managed to get away, but I had only been in hiding for about a week before the shifting started.

But now, I know. Not all of the night-children are leeches: you coven feed from animals and train yourselves to be able to help fight bloodshed, as your paternal figure does."

"If you mean Carlisle, he's the only one into surgery." Luke butted in.

"It doesn't matter. By just keeping it up you defy your nature. I have just defied my own. Our nature to is to extinguish the vampire world and keep innocent humans alive, but I have just placed my life's purpose on an immortal. You, Luke O'Connor, are my imprintee."

"So that big speech was about how you imprinted on Luke? You think he's the reason you felt drawn here?" I questioned. More confusing politics waited with this on our tails.

"Yes, and I must tell the others. I will not leave here now that I have found you." Wyllow was getting a little bit weird now, I had no idea how Luke would cope.

"In that case, I need to teach you the ways of settled life." I said in an effort to relieve Luke from shock.

"Um, OK, where do we start?"

Shane

As Nessie stormed out of the clearing, leaving my tribe with a pack of angry wolves, I considered the link in Jacob's and my surnames. When I was only tiny, apparently vampires came and attacked my home. I had two older sisters and a younger brother, only just born. My mother fled with me in her arms and never turned back. She abandoned her husband and three other children, but she knew they were safe. My father, Billy apparently, was protected by a nearby coven when he went to ask for sanctuary. My mother never returned to see if he was safe. I didn't know why, but she had never stopped loving him. Every night she would howl at the moon in her wolf form and then cry for her lost children.

One particularly dark night, when we were camping, actual werewolves attacked her. It was a pack of three, a male, a female and a young teen female hunting on the night of the full moon. They mistook Mum as a trespasser and ripped her apart before my very eyes. The young female, about my age (13 at the time), saw that I had no part in it, and ushered me away before her parents found out. Over the years I tried to hunt her down. After a week, I started to feel stressed all the time, and started phasing. I had been sticking to the trees a lot to avoid predators, and my natural home caused me to differ from my ancestors: meaning I was an eagle, not a wolf.

"Jacob how many sisters have you got?" I asked suddenly. Jacob eyed me warily, considering my motives.

"Two, both older than me." He replied.

"Is there any possibility that you might have an older brother?"

"Not that I've been enlightened to, no." he finished before turning back to the conversation. I Propose that your pack stays in the area, but finds settlement somewhere outside of the Cullen or Quileute borders."

"That's not a bad idea." Ryan agreed. "I can visit whenever I need…"

"As often as possible," Leah sighed. I had no idea how a couple could be so madly in love when they met only minutes ago.

"OK, it's settled then. I'm going to find Nessie." Jacob verbally dismissed his pack and started to leave.

"Uh, Jacob, could I see something? I'd like to meet your family." Jacob looked at me, confused. It was a little weird, asking to meet a guy's family when I hardly knew him. But this was important I reminded myself. I could have found the family I had lost 13 years ago.

"O…K…" he said and started to change direction. "Why?"

"Just… curious."

OK, guys, what do you think? Let me tell you this… The eldest son takes the throne, but will the Alpha lose his place?

Tell me what you think of Luke and Wyllow, should he accept her or carry on fighting for Nessie's heart?

Should I involve Jacob's sisters? If so, can you remind me of their names?

Thx guys, keep the reviews coming!
