First, a note to MJ.
Thanks loads for the support and your entry for the shifter tribe member. If you have read on from there, you may have realised I went with Shane, who has turned out to be Jacob's brother. Thanks anyway for your idea!
I am going to keep this up, because even if I'm not getting reviews every day, lot of people are reading ftlon and I already had 100 more views within 5 hours of posting chapter 30.

Previously…
By the afternoon, I had put Jacob through millions of drills, and he'd been out cold a couple of times when he rushed a tree. The tree took minimal damage, for you anti tree violence enthusiasts. To be fair the tree attacked him more than the other way around.
I knelt over him for the third time in one day, waving yet another of Emily's amazing muffins in front of his face. Slowly his eyes opened slightly, but after seeing the muffin, he closed his eyes and opened his mouth. I placed the muffing on the ground in between the huge jaws of the wolf lying there, again.
The instant I took my hand away, the jaws shut tight and he swallowed the muffin whole. Only then did his eyes open slightly to look at me, as if expecting more, but I just whacked his muzzle gently and he huffed and stood up.
"OK, again," I called and the training continued…
"Hey, Jacob," a voice called from the trees. The voice revealed itself to be Shane's, probably coming as a reminder of the event at sundown. "Why don't I get practice? I've been fair, now it's your turn."
I spoke for Jake, (I never call him that…) in a confident and almost dangerous voice. I was shocked by the new me that had slowly been starting to appear: the relaxed, confident girl last night, and now this. "If you can take me, you can probably take him." I challenged, indicating towards Jacob.
He gave me a shocked and slightly worried look, with those big puppy eyes.
"Sure." Shane accepted. "Can I make this a battle for the lady's hand?" He asked flirtingly.
I heard Jacob respond with a growl behind me. "That would be going a bit far, don't you think? This is only a practice after all." There was warning in my voice.
"Oh come on. It's physically possible for a man not to flirt with his brother's girl. The thing that changes is whether she flirts back." He swaggered over in the way that only brothers could. He came close enough to kiss.
I rested my hands on the back of his neck and then looked across at Jacob. "This one knows how to catch his women." I teased.
Shane tried leaning in, but being a trained and deadly vampire-human hybrid, I raised my knee up hard where it hurt, causing him to double over in agony. I then swapped my hands to the front of his neck, just under his chin. I flipped him forward so he landed on the ground on his back, and placed a foot firmly on his neck and chin. He kept changing his glance from me glaring down at him to my foot keeping him down.
"Try any more of that and there'll be hell to pay." I finished; Jacob was making whooping sounds in the background. "You did no better Wolfy."
Shane stood up but he still looked flustered. Then, somehow he managed to phase only his arms, so he had a pair of wings for upper limbs. "I am ever so sorry, I haven't introduced myself," He started in an accurate and pretty cute British accent. "My name is Shane Black, and I am Jacob's brother. I am the future Alpha of the local wolf pack-"
At which Jacob said something along the lines of "Wrow!" but I assume he meant 'hey!'
"Glad to meet your acquaintance." I replied as he phased his arms back and bent to kiss my hand.
Still in his English accent, he continued, saying "I formally apologise in all seriousness for my previous behaviour, and I do beg your forgiveness." His face reflected the seriousness of his voice and he looked pleading.
"I suppose I could let you off." I looked up and realised the sun was near the horizon. "It's nearly sundown, and you can drop the accent, you're a lot easier not to like when you sound American."
"Why would anyone not like me?" He asked, his voice back to normal.
Jacob jogged over, human again, and said "Because you're a flirtatious bird-brain who finds the best method to annoy people and keeps at it."
"Jacob, we're brothers. It's just what we do." Shane sighed theatrically and swept into his flying eagle shape. He was up and away before Jake could catch him.
"Come on, let's get you ready. You have a hard fight up against you."
We met in the Big Field, as we did with all important events. It had become a meeting place and a battle ground over the years, but we tended to stay in the area closest to the house. Sometimes, like now, we would sit on the huge rock in the centre. The other pack and clan members sat and stood in a large ring on the inside of which, Jacob and Shane would fight for the Alpha position.
I walked with them to the ring and sat on the bottom of the rock. The rock formed part of the circle, where the vampires, accompanied by Billy Black, stood watching.
The two boys, or should I say men: Jacob was 24 and Shane, 26; shook hands and spoke quickly. Since everyone there had supernatural hearing abilities, most of us could make out what they were saying.
"I propose we fight as men, because our different phase forms might give us different advantages, and plus: if I'm a bird I'm a bit small to hurt you, but also too small for you to catch me."
"That's not a bad idea, but no part phases either, like those wings earlier." Jacob agreed.
"Ok, deal?"
"Deal." And they shook hands again. They walked to opposite ends of the circle and were both watching to see who would make the first move.
Jacob surprised me by staying where he was and it was Shane who started to circle, moving in closer all the time. Jacob did the same, and soon they were only metres away. They paused, waiting. The tension was unnerving.
Jacob was first to move, or at least it looked like that. He faked a lunge, Shane diving forward too to defend himself. Jacob was already back up on his feet but Shane had fallen onto his arms, face down. He looked up at Jacob, who couldn't bring it on himself to beat his brother up, at least while still human.
"Phase?" Shane asked.
"Phase." Jacob agreed. Jacob took a few steps back before leaping forward and becoming his wolf self once more. Shane had already got out of the way and was flying around above Jacob.
Jacob stood still as the eagle cried overhead.
Jacob
I looked up as I heard the cry to see the fairly large bird (but nowhere near as big as me) circling. He started to dive down, aiming at me. I stepped back but he realised and looped back up. Again, he dived, but this time he wasn't so lucky. He ended up almost skimming the ground, but I slammed my paw down and managed to catch some of his tail feathers.
He had obviously been disadvantaged by this, but managed to get back in the air. He was beating his wings a lot more now, but never seemed to tire. I suppose millions of birds manage to migrate evry year, and he had shifter stamina. This was going to be a long fight.
Shane
When I managed to get back in the air after having my tail feathers ripped from me, I was finding it hard to stay airborne. I hovered lower: only about two metres above Jacob's head. I kept swoop-diving, trying to agitate him. He was being injured, but only marginally. I definitely didn't anticipate the huge jaws that closed around my body as I flew back upwards. I was pulled down and Jacob landed with a thud. Jacob was careful enough to keep hold of me without crushing me, which helped. I phased back, still in his mouth, and hung there. Now too big to keep hold of, Jacob dropped me onto the grassy floor and also phased back.
He smiled and stood up. "Were you just going to let me win?" He asked.
"Sure, sure… Whatever you say." I said, although he knew I had been trying my hardest. Fighting, as well as leadership, wasn't my thing.
Skye walked over, but not as a human like she normally did. Both Skye and Ryan had been in their phase-forms since the start of the fight, as neither felt comfortable around the wolves or the vampires, let alone both. She phased back to speak to us, but Ryan didn't seem to want to leave the safety of his scaredy-cat.
"So you stay as alpha, do you, Wolf?"
"Yes, yes I do."
"And you stay with us Shane. That's not a question." She added before I could say anything.
"Only if we stay in the area." I said.
"What? You know we don't settle."
"But it only seems fair: Wyllow is going to stay with Luke now, Ryan will do whatever Leah wants, and she definitely isn't leaving. And I've found the family I always thought I'd lost. I'm not leaving now." I contradicted. "That would only leave you, and do you really want to be a lone… horse? I was going to say wolf, but that would be a bit too punny. See what I did there?"
"No, and yes, but it's not funny." She answered. "I'll have to think about it. If it really means leaving my brother here without someone to keep him under control, I think you have me stuck." With that she stalked off. Ryan shrugged at me the best a big cat could, and followed after.
"Well that went well." Nessie said. I have to say, I agreed.
Nessie
It had been about a month since the fight, and now I felt like everything was calm. Which I didn't like one bit. The whole of my existence relied on crazy stuff: by birth, my childhood, even my love life. Now that everything had settled, I felt like there wasn't a point.
Chée (pronounced Shey)
I was getting worried about him when I didn't see him in the large living room with the others. It'd been almost half a year since he'd first arrived.
I stayed where I was, and sure enough, he appeared by the side of a small girl with long, wavy, light brown hair. She had green eyes and even from here I could smell it on her. The smell of what made her what she was. There wasn't a name for it that I knew, but I had come very close to sapping the life out of one of her kind, just out of pure hatred.
As I watched, he led the girl to a sofa, where they sat down, watching him on his mobile. I hated it when girls got near him. Even though I couldn't have him for myself, I still felt protective.
One of the other females in the room turned and looked right in my direction. I ducked immediately and hoped she didn't spot me. When I looked through the leaves of the birch I was crouched in, she had carried on walking. I made a mental note to watch out for her. Short, dark brown hair, golden eyes and about the same height as the other girl.
The he spotted me. I didn't need to hide from him. I just looked into his eyes, which were different. They had been a dark, dark red when I last saw him, but now they were golden like the rest of the coven's.
I saw him excuse himself from his conversation politely and left the girl to talk to the mind-speaker I told him about. He strolled into the woods and up behind me. I could tell what he was doing so he didn't startle me.
Luke
"What the hell are you doing here?" I whispered immediately.
"Checking on you. I see you've settled in quite well. Who's the girl?" She asked. I had no idea what I wanted to say.
"She's my girlfriend."
"Girlfriend? Hmm, are you sure that's the best idea? Anyway, how is it going?" This is what I wish she wouldn't ask. I'd settled in now, I had a new family. The Cullens had made me realise that a family isn't what others make you a part of, it's something you have to take your own part in.
"I'm not doing it." I said.
"What? Did you just quit on me?" Sometimes she asked the most annoying questions.
"Yes. I don't want to be the cause of hurt. I've done enough damage."
"Ooh, tell me, tell me!"
"It's none of your business."
"Then I'll make it my business." She jumped down from the tree and started to run towards the house.
Thing is, she made a terrible vampire. The Cullens had settled me in and I had a grip on supernatural life. But Chée? She had no idea. I jumped straight from the tree and landed in front of her before she could reach the edge of the woods. I tackled her over and pinned her down. "You don't come near here again, you hear me?"
"We're not through here yet Luke O'Connor!" She shouted after launching me off and running as fast as she could manage back into the woods.
So, how do you guys like this new character? I've just seen that this is like lots of short stories in one, so I hope you like it. It shouldn't finish for a long time, but if someone was to have a child, and the story started focusing on their life, should that be a separate fanfic altogether or stay in this same story? (this would become a completed story)
