I sat still and waited. Were the tributes really this stupid? Running away would just get us all killed and no one would be victor. I saw the careers looking annoyed, and I knew I felt the same way. I scowled at the peacekeepers, but they took no notice.
Good.
I wouldn't want to be chased after either. I couldn't help it. Suddenly, the alarms stopped. I saw the tributes who had ran were being held by the Peacekeepers. I did notice something. One of the tributes that had run were from nine, and she wasn't there. My chest tightened and I had the feeling that the president was going to punish us.

Tears came to my eyes when I saw that the tributes hadn't escaped. Now I would either have to kill them, or they would be killed. At least little Darye didn't run. He might've been killed. I noticed that when they were marched back to their rooms with their seats, a force field covered the doors. I guess to make sure they didn't run again.
Before I knew it, it was my turn. I walked in and saw that the gamemakers were looking bored. I ran over to the knives and threw a few around. The odds weren't in my favor, and I missed the bullseye. Sometimes the target altogether.

I walked into the training room. Kayla had been screaming as soon as the alarms had started, so my ears were ringing. Hopefully her inability to control her fear wouldn't cause her too much trouble. The running tributes were enough for me.
I walked in and went to the fire making station. I was pretty good at it and the gamemakers seemed intrigued. In a matter of no time I had made about 5 fires. It wasn't much, but it could give me a pretty good score.
