Amber Jowen
I took a deep breath as my tube rose to the surface of the arena. When I looked, I was stunned. It was a huge city. Buildings surrounded the cornucopia. I saw what seemed like miles of empty streets. When I squinted, I thought I saw a feast of food in one of the buildings. It made my mouth water.
Then I pinched myself. I needed to stick to the plan Jay and I had devised. Hopefully Natasha, Kevin, Razor, and Petris would stick to the plan. But I had to do a double-take when I saw Kara Fredine-Yes, Kara Fredine-on a plate. What was that stupid she-devil of a host doing here? Then it dawned on me. Her mess up from the interviews. She was being punished for letting the cat out of the bag. I smirked.
I saw I had 5 seconds before the games officially started. I nodded at Jay. He stomped and I knew that was his signal for, 'I'll go around.' Then, the gong sounded. I sprinted off my plate, adrenalin pumping through me.
Jay Lenak
I ran around the cornucopia, waiting for Amber to toss me a bow. I saw something silver glint and I stretched my arm out to catch my prize. I grinned at the bow and sheath of arrows. The plan went even better when I saw Kara was glued to her plate. I turned around and got ready to shoot at...there.
Her eyes were wide when she saw me aiming. I knew she was going to dive behind a boulder but it was too late. I had already let my arrow fly.
"Ellie!" Came a shriek. I sighed and rolled my eyes. I guess I'll have to kill her lover or brother or whatever he is. I fit another arrow and aimed at him. The district three boy was lucky and dodged my shot. i grunted and ran towards the cornucopia. But not before I did a quick shot at Kara. She may have been scared to death, but she had enough sense to dodge my arrow. Oh well, I'd deal with her later.
I smirked when I saw blades of every kind. I also spotted multiple easy targets. The girl from seven. The boy from five. The boy from eleven. I saw the girl from twelve and knew she was a good challenge.
"Leave me alone!" She screamed while gripping a knife. The district eleven boy lay at her feet and a wild look was in her eyes. I saw Amber sneaking up on the girl and Razor grappling with someone else. I fitted an arrow and aimed.
Petris Silversmith
Panting, I ran and picked up a dagger. Suddenly, I felt a little better, The weapon was familiar and I knew I could kill easily with it. I knew I would need to prove myself to the careers, so I ran at the nearest tribute. I recognized him. It was Jasper Sorontine. We had talked a little during training, but nothing much. Now, I saw that he wouldn't hesitate to kill me if he had to.
I smiled. "So, Jasper, you running away like a coward?" He scowled. I grinned. "Too afraid to fight?" I took him by surprise and slashed at his neck. He yelped and leapt back. I saw blood come out of a wound on his neck. Jasper staggered and looked at me in, fear? That gave me the courage to strike again. Jasper ducked and lashed out with a kick that I easily side-stepped. He then ran away into the city.
I felt more powerful now. Maybe I could win...
Kevin Jink
As soon as the gong had sounded, I ran towards the cornucopia to get throwing knifes. I had moved pretty fast, and ended up face-to-face with the district eleven girl. I bared my teeth and threw a knife. She widened her eyes and moved to the side. I heard metal hit metal and grinned when we both realized she was cornered.
"ARGH!" The scream made me jump a little and I saw the girl cover her mouth.
"Darye..." She whispered. I took her moment's weakness and threw a knife. She screamed and I saw I had only hit her in the arm. I wound up for another throw and saw that she had slipped away. I also saw that many bodies were lying around me. Dead bodies.
