So this is the final chapter. I'm continuing this story though in Sarah Jacobs, Daughter of Hades. This is a really fluffy chapter though, and kinda a conclusion. The ending is a little mysterious, I hope. Sorry I haven't updated in forever. I may or may not have been so focused on the next story (and *shudder* school (the only place worse than tartarus)) that I forgot about this chapter. If you liked this story, please read the next one. And 10 brownie points to all of yous who reviewed! Read on McDuff!
Chapter 21
The sound of flesh against flesh was painful to hear. His neck bended much more than was natural, and there was a loud splitting noise, like the braking of a bone. Eros turned his head to a normal position, and asked, "What was that for?"
"Taking away my memories," She replied. A dove then appeared, and whispered something in Eros's ear.
He simply said, "That hurt. Bye, I'll see you sometime soon. Don't worry, you won't die. He wanted to die." He disappeared, along with the dove. Lisa understood whatever he was saying. It meant nothing to me. Sal clutched his head. He staggered back, and almost fell off the porch.
Lisa grabbed his shoulders, "Sal, are you alright?" He stared in her eyes for a second, then took a deep breath.
"I died. I was on the ground, with blood pouring out of my mouth, and watching you burn. But you're here. How can you be here. I saw you, waiting. Why were you waiting? I got kidnapped. They took me out of the underworld. They forced me to go in the river." He was flipping out. Nico seemed to recognize something.
Nico asked, "You're the stolen soul?" Sal nodded.
"What's a stolen soul?" Shannon questioned. They ignored her.
Nico continued, "My dad's been looking for you, for years. He's given up now. You should be safe, but Thanatos is still searching for dead souls to return to the underworld. I doubt you're on his list. Gods, how could I have not recognized it before! I have to go if you're really the stolen soul."
I screamed, "What?" His face was solemn, and serious.
"Don't worry, I'll be here for dinner. But I do have to go soon," I felt a pang, as if someone had just shot me. I was so used to people leaving, or sending me away. I actually thought I'd found someone who wouldn't run away, just because I'm a freak. He must have seen the disappointment in my face, because he walked towards me and put his hands on my shoulders. "I will be back. I swear on the river Styx I will come back, I will always come back. Do you really think I'd abandon all my friends?" Thunder boomed, and that kinda freaked me out... Lisa's eyes widened.
I replied, "Actually, yes." His face fell. I started to laugh. "No. I think just because you asked that, proves you most likely will come back." I heard a conch shell in the distance.
Shannon announced, "And now, ladies, gentleman, and Nico, it is time for dinner." We laughed. I knew she was joking. We all had a pretty messed up sense of humour. As we started walking, Shannon asked, "So, can you tell me your story?" Sal looked at her, his eyes were full of masked anger.
"Sure," He stated with such a cold tone, I nearly shivered. "Lets just say, this is my body from a couple hundred years ago. Kratus or someone stole me, and turned me into a child, I dreamed of every day of my old life, so I grew up knowing who I was before. The kids at the orphanage all thought I was insane. I tried to keep it to myself, but I got sent to the hospital for mental care. When I remembered my powers over water, I broke out. Kratus found me, took away the memories of my current life, so I didn't remember most things, except basic functions of everyday life. I've been living on the streets for about a year, and Kratus possesed me for over half a year, and I have no memory of that six months, but they're missing. I'm sixteen or over two-hundred and sixty, whichever you choose. I've been training for as long as I've been alive, still fighting and practicing, like Lizzie showed me."
Nico asked, "Why do you call her Lizzie?"
"It's 'cause she used to go by Elizabeth, and I shortened it." Lisa blushed.
Shannon asked, "I thought Lisa was a nickname for Elizabeth." Lisa blushed even more, but hid her face behind her long, tangled, dark brown hair, as Sal was laughing.
He just kept looking forwards, but chided, "Hiding your face behind your hair is no use. I can still sense you blushing." I started to laugh. Lisa started to blush even more.
"Oh just shut up! I usually stick with the same name for a few centuries anyways."
He countered, "And one for all eternity, Messor Monstrorum." She lightly punched him.
"Does this mean you're going to be even more annoying than usual?" She asked.
"Who said I was annoying? I'm just slightly... misunderstood when trying to have a perfectly normal conversation." I snickered. That was something Lisa might say.
Sal asked, "What's so funny?"
"Just your way of phrasing things." I responded. It wasn't a total lie...
Lisa seemed unconvinced, and proved it by voicing, "Sure..." I met Shannon and Nico's eyes. They shone with amusement. "I'm not ignoring Kratus' warning." His warning that there would be more to come. "We should get the camp ready for another war. Monsters live to terrorize demigods. I know of a few people that might be able to help. They're up on Olympus. This isn't over."
Sal nodded. That warning was stuck in my head for a long time.
This isn't over.
