Denise sat on the sofa in the living room of the B&B with her head in her hands. Everyone was out and the place was silent apart from the sounds of some kids (probably Morgan and Dennis) playing outside. She would usually love the peace and quiet but now it was her worst enemy. It gave her too much time to over think everything. Why had she let this happen to her again? Maybe it was her own fault; perhaps she didn't deserve to be with a decent bloke. She'd always thought Ian was a useless waste of space, she just wished he hadn't proved her right. She couldn't believe she'd fallen for him. As if Ian Beale could ever stop being a self-centred pig. So this was it then, Denise was back on her own and she hated to admit it but she was lonely. All she wanted was someone to love her, someone she could have a good time with, and who would hold her at night. Ergh this wasn't helping anyone. She'd just go into work and try to take her mind off things.
Carol slammed the kitchen door shut behind her then sat down on the chair and stared up at the ceiling. She wasn't sure if there was anyone in the house but she really hoped there wasn't. She didn't want to think about what had just happened but she did need to be on her own. Was this it then, alone forever? After all, she was hardly going to find someone now at her age. She felt so stupid; she should have known Masood would let her down. They had got together far too soon after Zainab left, and then there was everything that happened with Ayesha. But Masood was so sweet and romantic, he made her feel young again and she loved that. What Carol really didn't understand was why things had changed so quickly. One minute she was happy and everything was going well then the next thing she knew 'things just weren't working'. Carol got up and put the kettle on then went over to the fridge. Oh not again, someone had used all the milk and not bothered to replace it. She loved Bianca and the kids but living with them was a complete nightmare. Looks like she'd just have to pop to the Minute Mart. As long as she didn't see Masood she could probably hold it together.
