Chapter 59: Rescue
I stare at my sister in shock, "Komi?" I say in shock.
"Surprised to see me sister dear", Komi says.
"Yes, I thought you went back to the mental hospital", I say.
Komi frowns, "I did, after you had me shipped off again after our last little visit, I got bored so I bribed one of the doctors to sign a release form. I came back to Gotham to get my revenge when a man name Slade contacted me about a job and well I guess you can figure out the rest", she says.
Komi then leans over and gives Xavier a kiss as I try not to gag.
"I missed you babe, what took you so long?" she asks.
"Had to make sure we weren't followed so I took the long route, besides I missed you more", Xavier says and kisses Komi again.
"Where's the baby?" she asks.
"She didn't bring the baby with her but don't worry we will get her soon enough", Xavier says.
"Aww you're the best sweetie", she says and kisses him again.
"You will never lay a hand on my child!" I yell.
Komi breaks the kiss and looks at me, "What are you going to do about it sister dear? It's all a part of the plan, we give Slade to you and we get to keep your baby. Seems to me we are getting the better deal", she says and kisses Xavier again.
"Jealous little sis?" she says.
I snort, "You wish, why would I be jealous of someone who married to my sloppy seconds?" I retort.
My face stings as Komi slaps me, "You little bitch", she says.
"At least I don't hit like one", I retort.
Komi slaps me again, "I can't wait for Slade to get rid of you! You have taken everything from me, I've had to struggle all my life while you have gotten everything you wanted and you don't deserve any of it, I think taking your child is only fair, It's my turn to be happy", she says.
"I didn't take anything from you! You're just a jealous psycho bitch who couldn't stand not being the only child anymore!" I yell back.
"Enough!" A voice yells.
I turn and notice Slade walking into the room, "Both of you wait outside", he says.
"But—"Komi tries to protest.
"Now!" Slade yells.
Komi gives me one last look before Xavier takes her hand and leads her outside the room.
"I'm sorry about that", Slade says and sits down in the chair in front of me.
"You're sorry?" I say bitterly, "You recruit my sister and my crazy ex to kidnap me and all you can say is your sorry?!" I yell.
"Look I wanted things to go differently but you didn't leave me much choice….I'm in love with you Kori", he says.
I stare at him in disbelief, "Well I don't love you and I never will", I say.
"I told you Kori I am a man who gets what I want, no matter what it takes and I think you can learn to love me in time", he says.
"It's not going to happen, now will you please let me go!" I yell.
Slade leans forward in his chair and grabs my face, he leans down and kisses me, and I gag as he shoves his slimy tongue into my mouth.
"You will be mine", he whispers and with that he walks out of the room.
The tears I had held back flow freely down my face as I am left alone.
Richard's POV
Kori hadn't returned any of my calls, I know she wanted some time with her friends but it was getting late and I was getting worried.
I dial her phone again it rings a couple of times before going to voicemail, "Hi this is Kori! Leave a message after the beep",
"I'm not trying to be a buzz kill or anything but I was wondering when you were coming home? I miss you and so does Mar'i please call me back", I hang up the phone and sigh.
Mar'i starts crying again, I pick her up and slowly start rocking her, "I know I miss mommy too", I say and kiss her forehead.
My phone rings, I sit Mar'i in her bassinet and pick up the phone and notice Bruce is calling.
"Now's not a good time Bruce, I told you I would finish the paperwork tomorrow", I say.
"I'm not calling about that, this is about Kori", he says in a serious voice.
"What happened?" I ask.
"She's been kidnapped", he says, "Her friend Donna said she went into one of the fitting room and never came out, Her belongings are still here, so the police figured someone took her", he says.
I pinch the bridge of my nose in frustration, "Slade! " I yell in frustration.
"Slade Wilson? What does he have to do with this?" Bruce asks.
"I'll explain later but now I need Alfred to come over here and watch Mar'i and I will meet you at the police station", I say.
"Ok, then what are you going to do?" Bruce asks.
"I'm going to find my wife", I say.
Kori's POV
"Time to go princess!" Xavier yells as he walks in the room.
"Go? Go where?" I ask in confusion.
"Well Komi and I are leaving the country, you and Slade are off to some secret island elsewhere", he says.
"What, No!" I protest.
"We're probably going to need some chloroform to keep her mouth shut", Komi says.
"Good thinking babe", Xavier says and pulls out a cloth.
I suddenly hear the faint sound of sirens in the background.
"What's happening?" Komi asks.
"The police! They found us!" Xavier yells.
"Calm down", Komi says.
"No!" Xavier yells, "I'm not going to back to jail! They aren't going to ruin my plans", he says and pulls out the gun from his back pocket, "Not this time", he says with the gun in his hand as he aims it at my head.
"She not going to get away this time", Xavier says.
"Xavier please!" Komi says with tears in her eyes, "There's a car out back we can still get away together", she pleads.
"This is the police we have you surrounded!" the sound of an officers voice says through a megaphone.
"It's too late for that!" Xavier yells and drops the gun to his side, "We have to end this now!" Xavier yells.
Xavier and Komi start yelling at each other, I look over and hear the sound of policemen trying to bust open the door.
"It's time", Xavier says and aims the gun at me again.
"Xavier, no!" Komi says and reaches for the gun in Xavier's hand as the sound of gunshots echo in the room.
