Woot. Sorry for the wait. Had it done once but power went out before I saved (really need to remember to save after every other sentence) and again but computer needed to be cleaned and I barely had time to myself lately. And blah blah more excuses HERE'S THE NEW CHAPTER! : D
Molly couldn't stand anymore of this. Her eye lids were feeling heavier with each passing moment and after every word fell out of the mans mouth. Her head was bobbing up and down, slowly getting lower to the desk until she finally passed out.
" !" The elderly voice boomed out to her.
"Yes!" Molly's snapped up perfectly straight with both hands on her desk like everything was perfectly normal.
"Please pay attention." said as he continued on about the cold war.
"Not enough sleep?" Petey asked her.
"No, got plenty of sleep...history...just...boring..." Molly murmured looking ready to fall back asleep. The bell rang finally and she was the first to stand up and pack up her things. "I need to get out of here." Molly said almost frantically to him.
"Class I want you to study chapters 3 to 6, we'll be having a test on what started to cold war Wednesday morning." He warned them.
"Awe man." Molly groaned as they walked out of the classroom.
A month had already passed in Bullworth Academy for her, and she had told her parents she decided to stay for the rest of the school year, partly due to her debt with Derby but also she found she had made some pretty good friends. Molly seemed to have made things worst between the preps and greasers after the whole bike incident. It was war and they still hadn't managed to get or even find where they had Bif's bike. Assuming they didn't scrap it or sell it. At least nobody seemed to take notice of her services at Harrington House so far and if they did nobody was saying anything. Although she was wondering if her friends were getting suspicious by now. Teachers here were all a bit strange in their own way though she got along well enough with most of them, though didn't seem that fond of her then again he didn't seem to like any student for whatever reason. When she first walked into class she thought she met the first normal one, he was friendly and all the students liked him but as soon as she approached him he smelled of a mixture of whiskey wine and vodka. He always looked stressed out whenever so much as passed by the doorway of his class.
"So where's Gary and Jimmy?" Molly asked Petey as they sat down at the lunch table. She had started spending most of her allowances her parents sent her on groceries. Edna's cooking was disgusting and it would cost too much to get take-out everyday.
"Jimmy got detention so he's mowing a lawn for lunch." Petey said to her. "Graffiti." He said before she could asked.
"Gary?" Molly added before taking a bite of her homemade chicken enchilada casserole.
"He's working on his halloween costume." Petey said as Molly took a napkin and spat out her food. "That bad?" He asked her.
"I need a bit more practice." Molly said taking a big sip of water. "Good thing I made a salad with it." She sighed. Her stomach craved more then some lettuce and sliced veggies.
"Here." Petey said holding out half a turkey sandwich to her.
"You're a life saver." Molly squealed as she swiped the sandwich from him and took a big bite before he could decide to take it back. "When I stop sucking at cooking I promise to make you something epic." She said her mouth now full.
"Oh good I found you Molly." Beatrice appeared next to her now. Molly waved lightly trying to say 'hi' but the sandwich was still stuffed in her mouth. "Listen I need a favor for saturday. Cheerleading tryouts are at 1 o'clock this weekend and I was hoping you would come with me." She pleaded.
"Meh?" Molly held up a finger, telling Beatrice to wait a minute as she tried to chew and swallow what was in her mouth. "Why do I need to be there?" She asked.
"Moral support, look I'm really nervous, I've been trying out for years." Beatrice said. "So I was really hoping you would kind of be my backup and cheer on my cheering." She said. Molly sighed a bit and looked at Beatrice give a pretty pathetic face now.
"Nnnggh...Fffffffff-Fine. As soon as your turn is done I'm out, alright?" Molly told her.
"Oh thank you thank you Molly this means so much to me." Beatrice said in a high-pitched voice drawing unwanted attention towards Molly. "I'm gonna go practice right now!" She got up from the table and ran off.
"...Petey...do you want to be my moral support to being moral support?" Molly asked him.
"No." He quickly shook his head. "Sorry but if I go to that sort of tryout they might get the wrong idea." Petey said.
"Guess you're right. You get picked on enough, you don't need people to think you're a pervert watching a bunch of girls in miniskirts kick their legs up to their heads." Molly nodded with agreement.
"That's not what...I meant." Petey blinked not realising it could imply that. "I meant they might think I'm their to tryout or something wierd like that."
"But you're not." Molly added. "...Puh-wease." She stuck out her lower lip. Petey looked at her and hung his head down with a sigh.
"Alright fine." Petey said. "But you owe me."
"I know." She grinned. "So what time are we going to go trick'r'treating by the way?" She asked excitingly.
"Trick'r'treating?" Petey raised an eyebrow. "Don't you think we're a little old for that?"
"No." Molly said flatly.
"I don't have a costume or any ideas for one." Petey said with a shrug.
"Seriously? Come on Petey my birthday is that week. You don't have to get me anything just wear a costume." Molly pleaded.
"Your IOU's are stacking pretty fast you know." Petey told her but all she did was return a big pleased with herself smile. "I don't know about the trick-r-treating part though." He added.
"Come on your 15, and I'm turning 15. We're not adults yet." Molly said. "What's with kids trying to pretend not to be kids." She muttered. "I bet Gary would be up for it."
"You'll probably end up in the back of a cop car by the end of the night." Petey said with a light shake of his head.
"Maybe, but at least I'll have halloween candy." She grinned. There was a chance that the preppies would bother her halfway through the night, but she had a plan and that was to over work herself in the last week. Clean every little smudge in every room of the house, make sure there was nothing left to do until monday morning, even if it costed her study time.
"Molly?" Petey started.
"Huh-what?" Molly snapped back to reality. Petey looked at her then at Derby Harrington and his clique. Molly was ready to sink down to the ground and crawl away before Petey could look back at her.
"Is Derby black mailing you or something?" Petey asked her. She winced a bit, not exactly far from the truth.
"No, he's not black mailing me." Molly told him.
"Look I'm not judging you or anything and I'm not going to try and stand up to him, because I can't, and not because I don't want to." Petey told her. "It's just since you got here you always looked uncomfortable around him and the others." He said. "And always acting strange when they come into your line of sight and you sound like you're lying when you come up with excuses not to hang out with us after class. Jimmy thinks you don't actually like us." Petey added giving her a deep frown. It explained why she felt the cold shoulder from Jimmy lately.
"What? No you guys are awesome, really." Molly said to him. "I love being around you three." She said. She knew it would come down to that eventually but she had hoped she would hold off on it a bit longer. "Look if I tell you...promise not to tell anybody else okay?"
"What is it?" Petey blinked as she looked away embarrassed.
"You're not in my gym class so I'm guessing you don't know about my second day at school during gym. We were outside playing baseball because the alarm Jimmy set off made the gym floor covered in water from the emergency sprinklers and it was my turn to bat and I hit this really awesome home run near the end of gym class-like right out of the entire gym area and when we were packing up Derby and his gang came out of nowhere and I thought they were going to invite me on a team because of how impressive it was that the ball landed all the way by their frat house but it turns out it landed IN the house and they were actually there to tell me I broke one of the giant windows along with a stupid looking statue that fell and ripped an expensive carpet and ugh...Basically I owe them a lot of money..." Molly told him the entire story almost in one breath. Petey just stared trying to take it all in.
"So...how have you been paying them back?" Petey asked her.
"I've been doing house work in the Harrington House and occasionally running outdoor errands.."Molly sighed chin now resting on the lunch room table. "Basically I'm their maid now...and I can't get out of it because Derby can press charges if I try to stop now." She said.
"It's been a month now it's too late to do that." Petey told her.
"He already thought of that and made me sign a legalised contract." Molly muttered.
"Awe Molly." Petey shook his head like she shouldn't have done that.
"What? What was I suppose to do?" Molly looked upset at his reaction to all this.
"Couldn't your parents afford to pay? I mean I don't like to assume...but your mom sounded pretty successful." Petey said. "And had an expensive looking car."
"I don't know exactly how much she makes. I mean I guess she does make a lot but still...I don't want to be like that." Molly muttered. "They already do so much for me, they send me money already every 2 weeks, I don't want to be like 'hey can you give me 37,000 with that?'."
"You're their daughter, it's part of the deal having a kid." Petey told her.
"I know I know that's what I tell myself all the time but that's just part of it. I don't want to be like them." Molly looked at the preppy table. "Did you know Pinky got so upset over not getting the newest shipment of aquaberry shoes that when she went go cry to her dad he literally bought her an entire icecream factory." She told him. "I'm capable of taking care of myself, I don't need to run to my parents everytime there's a situation."
"You know we can help you." Petey said. "Me Jimmy and even Gary could probably think something-"
"No. Petey I don't want anyone to know, understand?" Molly was still sitting but he felt like she was looming over him.
"A-alright." He stuttered a bit at how serious she was.
"Don't tell Jimmy, Gary or anyone." Molly said making sure he got it as he nodded. She didn't like acting so threatening to him but she just couldn't didn't want anyone to know. It was already humiliating without anybody else knowing. "I got music class next." She got up to go upstairs as Petey watched her with a concerned expression. "See you tomorrow." She added before leaving the cafeteria for the music room. It was a class she liked but didn't like. Her music skills were in guitar playing but unfortunately there were only two guitars for the class that were already taken by another two students so had no choice but to stick her with a harp.
It wasn't even halloween yet and was already going on about practicing for the christmas pageant and a talentshow before that.
-Make the beds in the house and then head to the boxing club. Yes you still have to be in uniform.- Tad Spencer.
-Don't text during classes.- Molly texted back hoping he got the rhetorical feeling she put into it. He was probably going to act all pissy about it later but oh well.
"Molly would you care to use the guitar this class?" asked. "Lucky seems to be sick today so it's free for grabs." She smiled at at her as Mollyalmost threw the harp aside and grabbed for the guitar as soon as she held it up.
"Now then we are going to practice becoming a choir." added.
"I can't sing." Algie rose his hand up.
"Now it's not just one person, it's the entire class singing in a single harmony." said as everyone set their instruments aside. Molly made a face at that. What was the point of offering her the guitar and making her set it aside to sing? She liked the teacher and all but right now class was pretty suckish.
Everyone was rushing out the door past Molly since she was sluggishly moving along. She told herself she could handle being a maid but it was becoming tiring already. School and then work and trying to push in some time to study.
"So much for trying out for a team." Molly murmured. Her hopes were to get on a baseball team, maybe meet with some fellow guitar players and trade songs and try all sorts of different school activities she never had the chance to do before, even if it was as dorky as music pageants. 'No Molly, you can't just throw in the towel. You already signed a contract and besides if you give up it's like you letting that pampered stuck up jerk Harrington win.' "I can handle anything you throw at me!" She shouted out with her fist up now. A soccer ball suddenly zipped right past her head barely missing. "What the hell is your problem?!" She turned furiously at whoever just kicked it.
"You said you could handle it." Jimmy laughed at her.
"Oh, Jimmy." Molly sighed in relief. "I thought I was going to have to get detention." She smiled.
"Why detention?"
"If it were some random bloke I would have had to kick his ass." Molly said. 'Did I just use the word bloke?' She hoped he didn't catch that.
"Yeah whatever." Jimmy said. "Hey we're going check out what movies are playing in town-"
"Erm, Jimmy I got studying..." Molly said looking away.
"Jeez Molly all you do is study." Jimmy was looking a bit annoyed. "You say that everyday."
"How about this weekend?" Molly offered.
"Whatever." Jimmy stuffed his hands in his pocket.
"Jimmy I'm sorry if it seems like I'm brushing you off." Molly started trying to come up with something to say.
"Hey, just forget it." Jimmy said walking past her now. The way she saw it he was trying to make her feel guilty and this was his way to make her feel horrible.
"Knock it off!" Molly snapped at him. "I'm sorry I don't have time to hang out at any given moment, alright? I have more important things to do then to just mess around all the time, my life doesn't revolve around you." She was frustratingly stomping her foot now as her fist clenched around her school bag. Jimmy came to a complete stop for a moment and turned his head enough to look at her. She didn't realise what she just said until now ."...Jimmy I didn't-"
"You know what Molly?" Jimmy turned around completely to face her. "Just whatever. I don't care." He said and then continued to walk away.
"Molly you dumbass..." She hung her head. "Think before you speak." She murmured. 'I just accidentally dissed a friend, I really suck.' She sighed making her way around the back of the school fence to get tot he Harrington House.
The beds were made now and Molly was now fully dressed in uniform, she had her coat on though so it looked like she was wearing a black skirt rather than an entire maids outfit now. Her apron along with her maids bonnet was folded and put in a small black bag so nobody could see. She could hear the door opening and she jumped behind a pillar so not to be seen, she didn't want one of them coming up with more chores making her late for the boxing club again. She looked at an angled mirror to see who it was specifically first. Gord and he was with a girl. She had auburn hair and dark but sparkling brown eyes dressed in a tight leather outfit wearing a red scarf.
'She looks like she popped out of the 50's.' Molly thought, it had finally hit her. She was Johnny Vincents girlfriend Lola. Molly never seen her before really since she was a higher grade than herself, but she could sometimes hear Mandy talking with the other girls about how much of a bitch she was. Probably a jealousy thing, Lola did look like a really beautiful girl and that outfit probably caught plenty of make attention. 'Maybe she did something and owes the guys money now too?' Molly wandered until she seen her practically jump Gord with one leg and both arms wrapped around him as they locked lips. Gord had one hand on her back to push her closer and the other on her leg to feel. Molly quickly turned away from the mirror and covered her mouth so not to make a noise.
"You're so much fun, not like Johnny." Her voice sounding seductive with every syllable. "All he ever thinks about is his stupid friends." She pouted to Gord. "He never pays attention to me like you do, you know how to treat a girl." Lola purred.
'Poor Johnny.' Molly thought hearing her excuse for cheating on him.
"Well I couldn't bare seeing a lovely lady like yourself distressed." Gord said back as he practically attacked her neck with his mouth.
'Oh god please don't let this go past second base.' Molly screamed in her head. 'Why does this awkward crap always happen to me? Or is it just highschool in general?' She thought to herself. Thankfully it seemed to have ended with them just feeling each other up.
"Do you really like me?" Lola asked sweetly nipping his ear a bit. "Or am I just some cheap tramp to you?" She sounded almost venomous now.
"Of course not."
"Then why don't you prove it." Lola asked. Gord looked a bit nervous when she said that. "I've had my eye on a new pradda purse..." She started and oddly enough he looked relieved at that. "Johnny promised to get it for me but he never did, that lying jerk." Lola looking at Gord, playing the victim.
"That's not a problem at all." Gord smiled trying to go in to kiss her once again but she put a finger to his lips.
"Ah ah, I get what I want then you can have much more then you want." Lola told him going into a seductive hip swing as she walked out of the house. Gord took a breath and walked past the pillar Molly was hiding behind and headed right for the stairs. He didn't notice her at all as he took out his phone from his pocket.
'He looks like he needs a cold shower.' Molly thought with a feeling of relief that he didn't see her. As she headed outside she could hear Lola's voice again from the side of the Harrington House now.
"Lola I have to get going to the boxing club soon, will you give me your answer when I get back?" Molly could recognised Chad's voice right away.
"Oh Chad if I break up with Johnny now and just start dating you so openly he might get upset and who knows what he'll do." Lola told him. "Look for now let's be discreet, we have all year."
"I...suppose it could wait." Chad said sounding disappointed.
"Oh another thing Chad. I lost my purse today, I'm sure it'll come up somewhere but I have to pick up my dry cleaning I was wondering if you could give me a few dollars." Lola put on a real cutesy act.
"Oh." Chad was digging in his pockets about to pull out a 20 dollar bill.
"I hope it's not closed, I don't want to have to come see you in something cheap." Lola added.
"Well, here's a bit extra incase you need to by a new outfit." Chad added as he handed her 60 dollars instead.
"You're such a sweetheart." Lola giggled as she gave him a kiss goodbye.
'This girls a real man-eater.' Molly gawked. She had these two wrapped around her finger. She always found Chad and Parker the most tolerable but they would never ease up on her even if her work-load was a ridiculous and here was Gord and Chad tossing this girl money. Not just any girl but the girlfriend of the greaser's leader. Maybe they were just putting up with her as a way to spite Johnny.
Molly wasn't sure what to think. If they realised what she was doing it would certainly knock them down some pegs, but could she in good conscious let this girl get away with using guys like this? It was doubtful she was doing this only to the preps.
Molly jumped back in front of the door and opened it pretending she was just coming out as Lola came out from the side of the Harrington house. Lola did a double take seeing once she passed by the front to look at Molly. Molly was stunned for a moment when Lola locked her eyes on her, she swore she seen a look of pure hatred and jealousy for a moment but it quickly turned neutral and back into her pouty lipped smile.
"Hello." Lola smiled at her stopping in her tracks a bit.
"Hi..." Molly drew a blank at that. Lola gave her a look like she hated her guts, at least she was certain she saw that look.
"So..." Lola started making sure Chad wasn't coming upfront a moment. "Who are you?" She started.
"I'm Molly. Molly Hunson, the new student." Molly tried to offer a smile but was getting a strong uncomfortable vibe from her. Molly heard about this, these kind of girls feeling threatened when another girl was around no matter if the boys showed interest or not. This was making her feel like she was on animal planet now, and now Molly was too close to the matriarchs territory. Lola didn't look all that impressed with her.
"I see. I'm Lola." She said all too sweetly. Nothing more was said as Lola left putting a bit more bounce into her walk as she headed for the auto shop.
"What the hell was that about." Molly blinked.
"Are you still here?" Chad came out of the door finally once Lola took her leave, a slight bit of a nervous tone in his voice likely wondering if Molly possibly saw anything. Molly jumped a bit and looked back at him. Not much of a gentleman's tone like he had a while ago. "Really you're lucky we're taking any of your debt off if you're going to keep being late." Chad scoffed. "I don't think Derby would have ever given you the option if he seen what a slouch you were." He shook his head.
"Cool it Chad-" Molly stopped and sighed a bit when Chad gave her a raised eyebrow look. "I mean ." She said with great exaggeration. "I'm going I just had a bit of a distraction." She huffed and started walking off. Molly knew she wasn't doing herself any favors by giving them attitude, but she wasn't going to go on her hands and knees and kiss their feet like they probably expected or wanted. 'Maybe I should let them find out about that Lola chick and make them feel like they suckered themselves in.' She thought spitefully.
The time spent at the boxing club seemed more hectic. The entire prep crew was there to train for the boxing tournament. Although they were barking orders left and right she found it easier to get things done. Probably because the place was not even half the size as the frat house.
-Make me a protein shake.-
-Get me a towel-
-I need my water bottle refilled NOW-
These orders were repeated at least 9 times each.
"You know I could probably get the things you need faster if you just spoke to me instead of text." Molly said to them. They looked up at her and then back down at their phones.
-Why are you standing there like an imbecile instead of doing what I asked?- The text popped up on her phone alone with a few more asking pretty much the same thing.
'These jerks aren't even the least bit appreciative.' Molly looked at each one as they held out their hands to her not even making eye contact as they waited for their water bottles and towels to be placed in their palms.
When Bif called her over to add weights to the benchpress she held out a wad of cash.
"Um...here." She said holding it up infront of him.
"What's this?" Bif raised an eyebrow at her. Not even touching the money or looking to see how much was there.
"150 dollars." Molly said. Derby made it clear he didn't want her money, only her service so she was able to keep her allowances sent by her parents. What she didn't spend on groceries she put aside for whatever she might want.
"For what?" Bif looked at her suspiciously, like she was trying to pay him off or something.
"Your bike." Molly said. "I figure I would buy you a new one but I don't know what kind you want...so I'm just giving you the money for it." She looked away. Bif looked at her a moment then at the money with a flat expression.
"Put the weights on already." Bif said to her.
"But-"
"That bike was over 800 dollars custom made. You expect me to exchange that for some cheap mass productive made wal-mart brand barely worthy for scrap bike?" Bif snorted as he proceeded to the weight bench. "Weights." He added. She just stood there with the money in her hand. "Are you not listening to me?" He sat up looking at her.
"I think you broke her Bif." Parker laughed as he walked over and went to go look her in the face. He couldn't help but laugh more. "She looks like a tomato guys."
"What's going on down there?" Everyone turned to see Derby come out of his 'office' from the top of the stairs.
"I think the servant girl broke a fuse." Tad said watching her just stand there. Derby looked over Tad's shoulder and pushed him aside to make his way straight towards her.
"Alright, what's going on here?" His voice was demanding and annoyed as he waited for an answer.
"She's not listening." Bif said simply. Derby turned his attention to Molly as he walked infront of her and was now face to face.
"Hunson, I believe you're breaking your contract." Derby narrowed his eyes but Molly's were looking down. He grabbed her chin and forced her to look up at him. "Do you think you can just stop paying me back? You are working off a debt right now, and the longer you stand here the longer it's going to take for you to repay isn't it?" Every single syllable was condescending. "Get back to work right now, and I'll pretend I didn't have to come down here for this." His presence growing ever threatening.
"Will you just take it.." Molly muttered still holding the cash.
"I told you I'm not excepting your money." Derby said flicking the money wad causing it to bust out into individual bills and fly out of her hand and onto the floor.
"If you really want to pay me back for the bike then fine." Bif stood up and went over to a closet where everyone's coats were hanging. He reached into his and pulled out a card. "This is my home address be there this saturday at 7 am sharp." He told her. Molly blinked a bit.
'FFFFFfff...dammit.' She thought. Why won't these guys just accept her damn cash?
"Also this is the House' uniform." Bif pointed to her maid outfit. "So leave it." Just then a whistle came from the background and Bif threw a glare. "Now clean your mess." He pointed down at the money that was spread all over the floor.
"Huh? Oh." Molly huffed a bit as she bent down to pick up her money.
"Hm...you notice she had two 50's in there?" Gord looked over at Tad who waved him off. Kids at Bullworth excluding themselves rarely had a bill as big as a 20 let alone 50.
Parker was now standing over her with a grin.
"Servant, before you leave don't forget to do the laundry." He said with a chuckle.
"Laundry?" Molly blinked and turned to see him point to a basket on the side filled with everyone sweaty workout towels. Assholes.
