Annie did not mean what she had said to Liam but she believed they were not meant for each other. What she had just told Liam was they very opposite of how she really felt. She continued to think about Liam and she wanted to know what he was going to say to her

Annie told Hugh she wanted them to go back to Paris in the morning. Hugh told her he wouldn't mind but that was because he wanted to make sure Liam and Annie didn't get back together. As far as Hugh was concerned, Liam had his chance with Annie but he had passed it up. To show Liam that Annie was no longer his, Hugh visited a jewellery store and bought a ring for Annie
That night, Hugh surprised Annie and asked her to marry him. She saw that Liam had witnessed this. Annie looked over at Liam and remembered when Liam proposed. She looked over at Hugh then said that yes, she will marry him
