Spirited Away Fanfiction Part 3

Chapter 7- Lady Neko

Daiki led the trio to darkened forest close to where the demons' lands lay, bring up memories of Hira. Chihiro struggled to push Hira's face out of her memory. Haku landed softly beside his brother before turning back into their human forms. Chihiro looked around in the large clearing Daiki had lead them to.

Daiki turned, smiling, "You know, brother, your dragon form looks ravishing. How do you kept yourself so fit?"

"Shut up and let's find this Neko lady," Haku said as he huffed and rolled his eyes at his older brother.

Daiki stiffened as a wolf's howl broke the forest's quiet, "Come now, we better find Neko's cave before the wolves do…" Chihiro clung onto Haku's arm as they trekked through the forest brush. The full moon cast everything with a brightening white, making the contrast between dark and light more so.

A vast cave soon loomed over their head's atop a steep hill.

"So I'm guessing we just fly up there?" Chihiro asked, a firm grip on Haku's sleeve, looking around anxiously at the forest around them.

"Who dares come to my cave?" A voice growled from behind them just as Daiki and Haku were about to transform and carry Chihiro up to the cave's entrance.

The trio turned to see a lady with cat ears and a bushy tail. Her kimono wrapped loosely around her, slipping a bit off her shoulders, her gold eyes staring at the three with a bored look. Her chin sharp, long legged, and her waist curvy, she caught Daiki's attention within seconds.

Haku slapped Daiki on the side of the head, "Daiki! Stop staring at her." If you had followed Daiki's eyes, you would end up with an eye full of the cat lady's chest.

Daiki jumped a little, eyes un-focusing on the lady, turning to Haku, he rubbed the side of his head, "Ow…. What is the matter, little brother?"

"Stop staring at her, that's rude," Chihiro said angrily, then turned to the lady, "Hello, we-"

"Daiki? What are you doing here? You darn rat!" The lady hissed at the lake spirit, interrupting Chihiro.

Daiki bowed low, "Lady Neko… I have come to your cave for assistance…"

Neko's tail lashed about, "Stop being all gentlemanly, I know your true nature." Daiki stood up straight, shaken.

"I would rather not help you, Daiki. You have hurt me in the past," she sighed, voice powerful, "But… You might at least tell me what is it that the rat Daiki needs help with?"

Haku spoke up, standing inbetween Neko and his brother, "His lake and heart are cursed. His lake is dying slowly and his heart is stone, is there anything you can do to help my stupid brother? Lady Neko…"

Lady Neko took a small step back, chuckling, "So the rat finally got what was coming to him? Haha. Why should I ruin the fun?"

"He is the only family I have left, besides Chihiro," Haku cursed himself for saying this, but he figured that if Daiki got rid of the curse, he would leave him and Chihiro alone.

Neko pondered her thoughts for a moment, "I'll need something in return… What do you have in possession right now that is of any value?"

Haku shrugged, Chihiro checked around herself, nothing. Daiki grumbled, pulling a pink pearl from a pocket of his suit. The pearl looked so fragile and tiny between his slender gloved fingers.

"This is the only thing I have," Daiki said, looking to the ground as he gently laid the pearl in one of Lady Neko's smooth hand.

Neko inspected it, then promptly stuffed it down the front of her kimono, "It will have to do, come then, to my cave." She stomped a sandaled foot and in an instance, they were up in her cave.

"Make yourselves at home while I try to figure out a way to help the rat," Her lips curled as she said rat, hand pointing to indicate Daiki. Then with another swish of the tail and stomp of the foot, the beautiful lady was gone, leaving the trio to explore her cave home.

From the outside, it looked like an ordinary cave, from the inside it was a huge home stuffed to the brim with frivolous things that a common person could ever dream of having and more. A giant chandelier hung near the entrance looked like it was all made of diamonds. Couches with large fluffy pillows situated near a pair of staircases twining down to lead to a second floor. Gold vases, gold cups, gold curtain hangers, gold chairs next to a gold table, it seemed like everything was covered in gold.

Daiki breathed in the perfume scent that seemed to waft through and blanket the whole place, smelling of orchids and lavender. He settled himself on one of the many couches, sprawling out, and looking content.

A faint pitter-patter of footsteps coming down the twin staircases, made Haku and Chihiro look up. A girl with flowers pinned in her auburn hair with a fair face and deep green eyes, stared at them as she carefully walked down the staircase. In one arm, she held a tray with cups and a porcelain tea kettle.

"You must be Lady Neko's guests," the girl spoke in a soft, quiet tone, "I am Narissa, it is a pleasure to meet you." Her light pink dress elegantly fitted, long sleeves trailing down, it was a wonder how she did not trip over them. She curtsied and put the tray on a coffee table near the three. Haku and Chihiro sat down on a couch next to the one Daiki seemed to be taking a nap in.
