Epilogue that blossomed into a final chapter:
There was a sound of something metal moving, and Bo tried not to smile as she recognized it as the trap door to the passage way outside of the shop safe room. "If Lila catches you sneaking in here she is going to bust us both." she said in a soft whisper but the sound carried in the darkness. There was no answer but soft footsteps were crossing the room. Someone was not listening. Bo rolled over to face the wall and covered herself up with a blanket, "I mean it Lauren, if she catches us she will be so…" The sound of zipper made Bo's words catch. There was soft swishing noises of clothing being removed and then dropping to the floor. Bo tried again sounding stern, "Maybe I have a headache."
The bed dipped as the weight of a second person compressed the springs of the mattress. "Then it's a damn good thing I'm a doctor." Lauren said in a husky tone as she drew the covers up and then moved to pull her bride to be close. The succubus shivered and then let out a laugh as the doctor's expert hands started to explore her body. Lauren did not care that her wedding day was tomorrow, it was a formality more than anything. She did care that she had laid in their bed alone for the last three hours craving the touch of the person she loved most in this world and finally made herself do something about it.
Lauren had lost a year with Bo and made a personal vow never to let herself be separated from the succubus again. One night before the wedding should not have mattered but it did. The doctor stilled her hands and their inventory of the soft and wonderful places of Bo's body as the realization that she wanted something different than sex touched her mind. Bo shifted around so the two were facing each other. She waited for Lauren to talk with a pretty good idea what her lover would say. "I just need to be close to you." said Lauren softly. With that Bo smiled and snuggled into Lauren's shoulder and the two relaxed in the silence thinking of all the things that had brought them to this point.

Back to the days after the battle and Lauren's rescue -
"Lord and Lady," shouted Cook, "I bring you your breakfast courtesy of the Princess Lauren and Prince Gunner, royal overseers of the empire's kitchen. Move General, beast of the realm or the master's coffee will become tepid." The big dog gave him a grumpy look but moved away from the door leading out of the kitchen and into the bar as the Stoneling breezed by trying to think of other things to add to his comments.
Lila looked at the Colonel who was laughing despite the expression on his wife's face. Clearing his throat in an attempt to stop his amusement, the Colonel said, "He is only teasing us." Lila let her eyes get a hint of color and the Colonel quickly added, "Okay I'll talk to him," but the gremlin still had to chuckle.
Cook carried the last of the breakfast orders and everyone was set to dig in. Lauren and Gunner joined Lila, the Colonel, Cappy and Cook for the morning meeting. Bo and Kenzi did not do breakfast and would not be seen for an hour or two. The Colonel had plans to start working on getting the other two sleepy head troops up and going earlier. Lauren and Gunner informed the man that it was a battle he would not win, but the grin that crossed the man's face said otherwise.
The first few days after the battle with the vampires and the bounty hunters, the destruction of the Malek, the show down with the fae council and all the changes that happened, it was almost too overwhelming to remember it clearly. No one could have predicted the effect that signed treaty would have on the Red Valley fae and humans. The power shifts were probably the hardest to get under control. A fae kingdom was different than a fae community. It was an agreement between fae but also the territory in which kingdom was located. In a search to understand the blast of power all the crew had received, Cappy was in contact with Trick. The shaman found out that soil from the valley had been worked into the parchment the treaty had been written on.
Mostly thought of as a symbolic gesture for the fae's more recent land transfers, the most ancient of the fae had used this touch of soil as a test of merit. Letting the land judge for itself who would lived off its bounty. If the petitioners were deemed unworthy of the kingdom, crops would fail, and the people of the kingdom would be plagued with heartache and disease. Those meeting the land's high standards would flourish with a sharing of the land's power. Bo, Lauren and Kenzi had been more than accepted by their new home and power had flooded the population of the new kingdom.
To have a kingdom populated by a whole eight people, nine when you counted General, was what made the power shifts so intense. Instead of hundreds of fae and humans splitting the power it was poured into the nine beings of the new realm. The boarders of the kingdom were very specific as was the terms of the agreement. The human town of Red Valley was not touched. The citizens of Happy Meadows, not being true members of the kingdom, all found their gifts bestowed in the natural beauty around them, the wildlife and wildflowers were exceptionally abundant and beautiful.
The fae all fought to master control of their increased power, Bo being the exception, her body already being racked by vampire toxin did not notice any change to her power at first. She was delighted to find that Cappy's tea helped calm the others and they were forced to join her in a daily cup full of the vile brew. As they all learned to control what they had been given Bo found she had received a gift after all. It was better understanding of her succubus nature. Her gift was control, and it could not have been more perfect. Living in fear of hurting those around her for so long, to be secure with her powers was a wonderful thing.
The humans and halfling were a different story. What they had been gifted was more unique, a few tests by Lauren had determined they were all still human or half human in Gunner's case. At first it was thought that they had been made fae, a thing both terrifying and tantalizing, but no. It did not mean that they were normal humans either. Gunner had shown increases in his fae abilities. Lauren pulled out her expertise as a researcher and ran tests on herself and a reluctant Kenzi. They were in perfect health. After some time had passed, Lauren did another round of tests and nothing had changed. Nothing at all, their bodies had not aged. It was something she would continue to check.

It was about two months later when Dyson and Tamsin popped in for a visit that they learned what had happened after the council had returned to their own land. There had been snippets here and there, phone calls and texts, but everyone had been so limited in what they could discuss. It was good to hear the whole story. "You just don't call a Jinn's integrity into question," said Tamsin as she took a pull off her beer and nodded to the taste. "Cook you are genius, this is great." He spun the bottle and tapped the label. Tamsin said, "and Lauren your talents are boundless." The Stoneling and valkyrie laughed as the doctor, who was looking out the front window, turned and tipped an imaginary hat in their direction.
"Anyway," said Tamsin, "Hale was great. The council immediately called a recess to regroup after you banished them and they returned home. Most of them had never been refused anything before and it was a hard thing to handle. Hale told Trick to stand guard and he walked outside and called Ebony. He told her everything that had occurred as a courtesy between the Light and Dark leaders, a brilliant move and totally within his powers as Ash. When the council was called back into session they tried to forbid any mention of what had happened but…"
"But Hale had told the biggest mouth in town." said Kenzi with a snorted laugh. "The council could not have been happy."
Tamsin slapped the bar, "Understatement of the year! They tried to focus the scandal on Jinn, said she had tricked the former Lead Council. She was having none of it. They threatened her life and that made her wishes available to her. She granted them to Hale and he asked her to reveal three secrets of the council to all who wished to know them. Holy hell, was it good. Everyone wanted to know something and the craziest things were revealed. Things about the treaty and so much more." The valkyrie snickered loudly then continues, "Needless to say we are in the middle of elections to reestablish half the council with more qualified individuals." The group laughed and they spent a little more time catching up.
Making her way to stand by Lauren, Tamsin saw that she was watching Bo and Dyson who had gone outside to talk. "Not that it matters now Lauren," the Valkyrie said quietly, "but your pardon was unanimous in Hale's court and you are welcome back with the Light at any time." The doctor smiled with a tear in her eye. It did matter a great deal.
Dyson had asked Bo to join him on a walk. He shared what Hale had done, but that was not why he had taken her outside. Bo asked with a smile, "So is our boy Hale sweet on little Miss Jinn?"
"Is she a pretty girl with a smart mouth?" said Dyson with his wonderfully masculine smile firmly in place. "I do believe she has a thing for him too. His parents, of course are still not pleased, but they are learning quickly our happy-go-lucky siren is no longer someone to cross. Everyone's being educated on that front. Trick has dialed it back too. He misses you Bo, but understands that you will be staying here with Lauren. He would like to come to visit at some time or you could come back from time to time."
"I will have to talk to Lauren," Bo said, "besides I have responsibilities here." She pulled back her jacket and her badge shown at her hip. Dyson shook his head and laughed. Bo added, "That's sheriff to you boy." Dyson laughed harder but he really had to agree it was a wonderful move on the Colonel's part. "I appreciate the update on things but why am I out here Dyson?"
The wolf stilled and then looked at Bo, "Tamsin and I have become close. It's just that we were mated for so long that it only felt right to double check that…"
"Are you asking for my permission to pass your mating bond to Tamsin?" said Bo. The wolf looked rather sheepish. Bo smiled and then became serious, more so than the wolf had expected, "Dyson do you love her?"
"Yes," he said surprised that she was asking questions.
"Does she love you?" the succubus asked.
"She does," Dyson was smiling again.
"Then she would be very lucky to have you. Go make her a happy girl." said Bo. Dyson looked at her with a question on his lips that he didn't dare ask. Bo rolled her eyes, "With Lila so close you learn that love is nothing to joke about…ever." The two friends pulled each other into a long hug and then turned to walk back to the Fort.

It took almost seven months for the crew to have to put their roles as leaders of a fae kingdom into play. Their duties had been defined right away, the day after the fae council had been defeated in fact. The rulers of the new land were the Colonel and Lila, but the rest of the crew was in need of official titles. Being a man very keen on rank and recognition Lila had left it up to the Colonel to assign the positions of responsibility. That first night as rulers, while the others slept, the Colonel had in short order worked out everyone's title. The next daybreak when he called the morning meeting to order, he spread the good news.
"I think the vampire toxin from my new bite requires you to stay close to me." Bo said as the sound of what had to be trumpet played outside somewhere close by. Lauren who was fighting a losing battle to break free of the succubus's warm embrace rolled her eyes at the mock distress. "We fell asleep before I could…" The banging at the safe room door was startling and loud.
"Up and at'em troops, we have a morning meeting, Bo that means you too." Both women were shocked to hear his voice. The hut was considered Lauren home and to have the Colonel there was unusual, but that would be par for the last few days.
"Your new parental units need to…" Lauren kissed her grumpy girlfriend to quiet her.
Bo let out a soft moan and said, "I believe we need to try that again." Lauren let out a squeak as Bo grabbed her pulling the doctor down into a scorching kiss.
There was another bang at the door and then, "Now Bo." The Colonel yelled and the succubus jumped like a teenager caught in the act. Lauren touched her forehead to Bo's and mouthed, "Later." Lauren stood and moved to the shower. Bo slammed the pillow over her head and yelled out her frustration.
Twenty minutes later the whole crew was sitting at the table with eggs, bacon, toast and coffee before them. Kenzi and Bo were the most unhappy of the lot, but the food was a welcome distraction for dealing with the early wake up call. After the meal, the Colonel called the meeting to order.
"Well thanks to these three we are the proud overseers to this kingdom. There is much to learn about all of this but one thing is for sure Lila and I can't do it alone. We need your help as always. Are you all ready to reup?" the Colonel said. The amazing thing was that each person at the table truly felt he was giving them a choice and not making it an order.
"Over course your Lordship," said Cook with a grin. "But only if I can be a knight or something equally as cool." The group laughed but then stopped when they saw the smile touch the green man's lips.
"Stand Stoneling, and for that matter Kenzi stand too. Both of you step forward." The Colonel said. The two looked at each other, after a few moments both stood moving to a space in front of the gremlin lord. "Kneel," he said and the words came with a weight that was palpable. They did with wide eyes. He held his hand out and a sword appeared, not unlike the one Kenzi carried but much larger and more detailed. "Cook you are to be Knight of the Land, and are charged with the protection of the Kingdom of Red Valley and the natural places and wonders of the land in our care. Do you accept?"
"I do," said Cook. With a touch of the blade to Cook's shoulders the Stoneling's skin rolled with obsidian armor, the dark volcanic glass glistened. A set of daggers with stone blades appeared at his feet, the Colonel's glamor having disguised them until that moment.
"Kenzi, you are to be Knight of the Heart and are charged with the protection of Kingdom of Red Valley and the Royal family. Gunner and Lauren of course," he said with a smile. He added with a very serious tone, "And Lila, the Lady of this land. She is the most precious thing in my life, I trust very few with her safety. Do you accept?"
"I do, but I include you and the others too." said Kenzi quickly. The Colonel smiled and with a touch of the blade to Kenzi's shoulders two beautiful daggers that matched the sword she carried appeared at her feet. For a girl who had not so long ago had her heart betrayed and broken by a wicked illusion. She now felt it sing with a new and wonderful purpose.
The Colonel was on a roll, "Shaman, step up." Cappy was there in a few steps, "Kneel," The wildman did, "The kingdom will need a wizard."
"I accept." He said in the clipped accent he had when excited and almost pushed his shoulders to touch the Colonel's sword. A staff appeared before him and the wildman picked it up and grinned.
The Colonel moved to be seated and three voices rang out. The man grinned. "Oh yes, Lauren and Gunner, you are the Princess and Prince of this land. Between the four of us, the two of you, Lila and myself, we will run this kingdom." He smiled and placed a hand on both of their shoulders. There were not gifts bestowed but the rank he gave them spoke for itself. It didn't seem like much of a job now, but they all knew this would change.
The gremlin turned and looked at Bo for a long while. She shifted on the spot. All sorts of awful things went through her mind before he spoke, "Succubus," he said with a hardness to his voice, "You pride yourself on being unaligned. You are your own woman and answer to no one but yourself. As a Lord, I could take that away from you. Give you a position in my kingdom and you would do it. Not for me, or the land, but for the love of my daughter." He looked at her and she could not argue with him.
"So I will not take that from you, but ask for your service another way." He smiled now and held out his hand. An old fashioned sheriff's badge was on his palm. "Bo I would ask you to keep us honest, just and fair. The fae council showed us how corrupt things can be without some type of check. You are strong enough to be honest when we won't like it. Your heart is good enough to show empathy when we may not." He stopped and looked from Bo to Lauren and back. "When the time comes for you to join our family," Bo eyes widened a bit and she looked at Lauren who was blushing. "You will remain free of royal duties if you wish and maintain the job untied by magic or obligation. Do you accept?"
Bo smiled and then held out her hand for the Colonel, he placed the badge in her palm. She pinned the star on her shirt and then shook the gremlin lord's hand. No other gifts appeared from the Colonel but Bo's eyes snapped blue, her promise to hold him to what he had said.
Now seven months later, the bell of the door of the Fort rang as a man and woman entered the place. Cook looked up from the bar and smiled, "Hey folks, what can I do for you?" The man was skittish and looking around as if checking for something, the woman kept her head down and would not look at Cook. "Hey Lauren," said Cook, "Think we have a live one." That was their code for robbery in progress. She would be hitting the call button for Bo, he would hold them off till she got there.
"Is this Red Valley?" asked the man finally.
"No," said Cook, "This is Happy Meadows, suburb of that great metropolis forty miles down the road.
The woman leaned into the man and whispered something. The man said again, "Red Valley kin…" he mumbled the rest as he was shaking so hard the words almost did not come out.
The door to the Fort opened and closed with a gentle click, Bo walked in with a smile that didn't touch her eyes. "Hi Cook, who are your friends?" Cook smiled and then leaned on the bar to watch, but the normal butt kicking did not occur. Instead Bo lowered herself to one knee and spoke softly, "Honey are these people your Mom and Dad?" A child who had been wrapped around her mother's leg unseen by the big man behind the bar, gave a squeak of alarm and circled around so Cook could she her. Lauren having heard Bo voice was now at the kitchen door.
Standing up, Bo looked at the two adults, "Welcome to the Red Valley Kingdom. You are speaking to the Knight of the Land and the Sheriff. What can we do to help you?" The woman started to cry and the man held her tight, placing a hand on his child back.
"Don't forget the Princess is here too." said Lauren as she pushed forward. She knew Bo had left her out to protect her but something was so wrong here she had to get involved. Bo smiled at her and Lauren rolled her eyes. Lauren hated to be called Princess. "You need to sit down." She said to the couple, "I will get you some water," but Cook was already there. Maybe it was the tone or the title but the three visitors took a seat fast. "Maybe some food too?" said Lauren and Cook smiled as he moved to the kitchen.
Through sobs, the woman tried to talk, "Oh thank goodness we found you." That was all she could say before Lauren touched her face and turned it gently to the side. It was covered in bruises. Lauren motioned Bo over and the succubus growled. The child at the table, turned quickly and growled back then smiled.
The parents jumped to correct her but Bo stopped them. "You are fae and he is human." said the succubus to the woman, "and your little one is a halfling." The man and woman froze, Bo continued, "Your auras give you away. You have nothing to fear here. After you eat, we want to hear your story. Okay." The man and woman shook their heads and the little girl growled again with a big smile on her face. Bo growled back and the girl let out a loud happy giggle.
It was several hours later and the couple had shared their story. It was as Bo and Lauren had expected and not so unlike their own story except for the child. The woman was a shifter, leopard to exact. Unlike wolves that have a hierarchy, leopards have no social structure. She could not count on her kind to protect her, heck some of shifters she knew turned on her when she became pregnant. She laughed, "I could sleep with Harry but to start a family with him or make a life with him as my husband was wrong? I let them know how stupid they were and things got out of control." She looked away but Lauren took her hand the woman smiled at her kindness.
The man cleared his throat, "We tried to fight back but it didn't work. So we moved away and hid from her family. But Kathrine," He smiled at the little one who was now lying on the floor trying desperately to get General to play with her. "Kat started showing signs of her shifter form and they found us." He put his arm around his wife, "Mary has recovered for the most part, it was a savage beating. I did what I could to help." The man looked miserable, "But I am a human and…" Lauren knew this part all too well. She watched as he pushed some harsh thoughts away, "I finally grabbed my shot gun and I think I might have killed one of them. We have been on the run ever since."
"The news of your Kingdom of Shadow Fae has everyone talking. We have been warned against coming here, but people are interested. People like us." Mary said. She then stood on shaky legs, "We are here to beg entry to your kingdom and if what we have heard is true would like to make our home here." Mary moved to kneel but Lauren grabbed her. She was going to say something but was interrupted.
Cook said quickly, "What are your professions?"
The man said proudly, "We are chefs, well she is the chef. I am a baker."
Walking from behind the bar, he stopped at Lauren chair. He took his friend by the shoulders and stood her up. He untied the apron knotted at Lauren's waist and then held it out to Mary. Leaning to the side he said, "Princess you are out of a job, guess it is back to being a doctor for you." Looking at the wide-eyed man, Cook said, "Harry, you and your wife start tomorrow night if everyone is feeling up to it. Now if you will come with me, I believe the Lord and Lady themselves would like to meet you. Then we will find you a nice place to stay." For a man with a skin made of stone, Cook was all soft on the inside.
Lauren and Bo watched the stunned family move behind the big man. The little girl Kat skipping and running behind, she stopped and waved at the two of them, then laughing she bolted off to grab her daddy's hand. It was unspoken between the women, but the family had touched them. Reminding them how hard they had fought to be with one another, to become a family themselves. Bo reached out and grabbed for Lauren's hand only to find it already there.

It almost a year since the bounty hunters had come for her, but Lauren still kept up her morning run. She kissed Bo's cheek and then moved out of their bedroom to the guest room where she kept her running clothes. She dressed, set the coffee maker and then chose her route, taped a note to the refrigerator and headed outside. The morning was perfect or would be, if she planned it just right she would be looking over the whole of the Red Valley in twenty minutes just in time for the sun to rise. It would be a challenge but she could make it if she pushed it, wasting no more time she stepped out fast.
Lauren rounded the bend of the steep incline and cleared the top only to slide to a complete stop. A very familiar pickup was parked at the edge of the overlook. Bo was sitting in the bed of the truck looking east. Lauren knew that Bo had sensed her presence so she didn't yell out but instead walked the last ten yards. As the doctor approached, Bo slid down to take a seat on the tail gate and waited for her. Lauren was going to ask what she was doing there, but Bo nodded her head and Lauren turned quickly as not to miss it. The sun broke the horizon pushing away the dark, after a few minutes fire like hues painted the sky and the ground was touched will long interesting shadows.
Lauren had move to stand in front of Bo and had quickly been pulled into the succubus's arms. She leaned back and felt Bo's body supporting her. "Beautiful," the succubus's soft voice tickled Lauren's ear. The doctor turned to agree and share a bit about why the colors were so vivid this time of year, but Lauren found Bo was not looking at the sky or the shadows but instead she looking at her.
With a gentle push Bo backed Lauren up a step or two and then stood before the doctor. She had practiced and practiced what she would say but now words failed her. She instead kissed the woman she loved gently and then dropped to her knee. "My heart is yours for now and always. Lauren, will you marry me?"

Lila arrived at Lauren and Bo's place and was not really all that surprised to find Lauren already dressed and almost ready to go. Lila was in heaven. Weddings were just so up her ally. Her daughter had let the cupid take the lead and do whatever she wanted. Lila had almost had a heart attack when Bo and Lauren had told everyone they were going to go to the courthouse and just have a quick ceremony.
There had been so much happening in the valley. Fae were moving in to the area and settling the new kingdom. Changes were happening so fast, organization was turning out to be a challenge. Most of the new arrivals had come in search of more freedom, a break from the elder fae. Others had arrived for the opportunities a new realm offered. Some came thinking they could take advantage of what should be a chaotic situation. Whatever the reason they came, it was a job making sure the adjustment to and acceptance of the laws of this land were abided by. Establishing a new culture was hard work, but the original crew was more than up to the task. However a royal wedding in the middle of all of this, no one really had the time for it. Lila overruled everyone and time was set aside. There was no discussion; the Lady of the Land had spoken.
Much to Lauren's surprise the dress she had been given was as glamorous as it was simple. The form fitting cut was perfect and she felt comfortable and beautiful when she put it on. Looking to the mirror Lauren's breath caught and tears came to her eyes. Maybe for the first time it hit her that she was getting married, for real, to Bo.
"You are beautiful Lauren." said Lila's voice from the door and it pulled the doctor out of her small emotional spin. The cupid walked up and with a snap of fingers Lauren's hair was styled up, "Just a little extra touch." Lila held out a box, "a gift from Cook and Gunner." Lauren frowned as she had made them all agree to not give gifts. It turned out no one listened. She opened the box and the necklace within was lined with diamonds and sapphires as were the earrings. "Cook said he bought these with the money you two had earned from your bootleg liquor business." Lauren laughed. Lila continued, "Somehow I think he might have just found them out in the desert somewhere. Your booze is good but not that good. Gunner made the chain and did the metal work of course."
"Of course." smiled Lauren and Lila helped her put them on. Turning Lauren looked at the little power house before her. This woman had taken her in and become the mother she needed. There was no way ever to thank her for all she had done. "I don't have the words to tell you how much you…"
The cupid got a bit misty and then grabbed Lauren's hand, "Then don't try. I know and love you too. Let's get you married. Tamsin's driving so we should get there in plenty of time."
Bo could not believe what was before her, the structure of stone, glass and fine metal was breathtaking. Cappy, Cook, the Colonel and Gunner had been working on this for over a week and the outdoor amphitheater was stunning. Smooth stone benches sat scattered over a gentle slope to a stone floor at the base of towering oval shaped enclosure of rock and glass with metal work wrapping and hold it all together in delicate patterns. The light that played through the glass touched with only the faintest hints of color.
Bo spun around in a panic and Kenzi and Dyson grabbed her. "Hold on Bo Bo, it's okay. Breathe!" said the bestie in charge. Dyson was just smiling.
"Yuck it up wolf, you and Tamsin are next." Bo grinned as he faltered a bit, and then watched him shrug as if that was okay. Turning to Kenzi, "We said simple. Simple Kenzi, this is not simple." Her breath was speeding up. It didn't help when her two friends just stood their smiling like idiots.
"You love it so don't lie," said Kenzi finally. She had been distracted as she caught a glimpse of Gunner. He was watching her as he always did. Kenzi knew he was waiting for her to be ready for something more than friendship. She smiled at him and thought maybe it was time to take a chance again. Bo made a small whining sound and jolted Kenzi back to her current responsibilities. She grabbed Bo by the shoulders and then adjusted the fit of her dress. It was as bad ass as the succubus herself, in a tasteful way of course, Kenzi had run it by Lila before Bo ever saw it. "We go," said Kenzi then grabbed Bo's hand and Dyson's leading them to their places.
It was time and the music began. Trick walked Bo out from the side and they hugged before he sat down. Cook and Tamsin walked down the center walk way to take their places on Lauren's side. Cook was so pleased to be Lauren's best person he positively beamed. The music changed and all attention turned to watch Lauren's entrance. She stood at the far end of the walkway with The Colonel on one arm and Lila on the other. "Simple," she whispered as she could not have talked louder if she tried taking in the amazing place she was standing in, "We said simple." Lila giggled and the Colonel just beamed with pride as they stepped out.
Bo, who had been so jumpy, saw Lauren and relaxed. One look at the beautiful woman coming towards her and the world was perfect. Her smile must have transferred that feeling to Lauren because Bo watched as her aura settled and radiated with the colors that were present only when the doctor was calm and happy.
Somewhere in the next minutes, Cappy had stepped up to officiate, Trick and the Colonel had spoken their support for this union, Kenzi had gotten the ring into Bo's hand and Cook had done the same for Lauren. The couple really hadn't noticed as they stood holding hands lost in each other.
Cappy cleared his throat and Lauren and Bo turned to look at him. "The happy couple modified this portion of the ceremony." A smile crossed his face and his eyes turned blue with power as he spoke with more than a touch of accent gracing his voice, "So Bo, do you love her?"
"I do," said Bo.
Cappy said, "How much?"
"With all my heart." Bo said as she looked straight into Lauren's eyes.
Cappy turned, "So Lauren, do you love her?"
"I do," said Lauren
The wildman beamed at the doctor, "How much?"
"With all my heart." She replied, the smile on her lips growing.
"Bo will you take Lauren as yours for always?" he asked.
"I will." said Bo
"Lauren will you take Bo as yours for always?" Cappy smiled as he asked.
"I will." said Lauren
Holding their hands out to exchange rings, simple bands of silver and gold were placed on their fingers.
With a booming voice, Cappy called out, "We have heard your vows. Bo and Lauren we hold you to them. See to it that you care for one another always or you will have to answer to us." Everyone in attendance stood as one. "Now kiss the girl and make her your own." With a laugh and a few tears the couple embraced as the whole kingdom cheered.
A/N: HUGE THANK YOU for supporting this story. It was a crazy ride and I can't say enough about those that followed it all. Really do not think I could have mixed more story lines into this one if I tried. I will have to work on that for next time. Hopefully the insane fluffiness of this chapter didn't put you in a coma, but after dealing with a flesh eater what's a little romance.
For those of you interested, I am working on a sequel to New Eyes. So many of you have been amazing with your support of that story and I just wanted you to know I haven't forgotten. It will be more towards the summer months when I begin posting. I have agreed to work a story with a friend in a different fandom first but will return quickly. Lost Girl readers are wonderful and I so enjoy putting my crazy imagination to work and coming up with something a bit different for you to read. Thanks again for everything– until next time - gt
