Ally Dawson walked out of her room, wheeling her suitcase behind her. It was really happening. The day that she was going to live her dream has arrived.

"Got everything, honey?" Lester asked.

"Yeah, dad," Ally replied.

"I am so proud of you, honey! Your mother will be so proud of you!" Lester said proudly.

"Aww dad," Ally said as she pulled her father in for a hug.

"I won't be gone for long. 4 years max," Ally said.

They pulled away and her father said, "No. Don't let me limit your time in New York. Stay as long as you want but just promise me that you'd call often."

"I promise," Ally said with a warm smile.

Ally jumped when she heard a knock on the door.

"Must be Austin. I told him to come by before I left," Ally said as she headed towards the door.

Ally opened her door and her eyes nearly popped out of its sockets. Her throat suddenly got caught and she can't speak. She felt every inch of her body stiffen with fear. She can't move. Her eyes glued to the eyes that she once loved.

Standing in front of her was none other than Dallas. His hair was shorter but he was more well built.

"Hey Ally," Dallas said with an apologetic smile.

"D..Dal..las?"

"What.. What are you doing here?" Ally asked.

"I came to apologize for what I did," he replied.

"Well, it's too late for that. And besides, I'm not the one you should be apologizing," Ally said firmly.

"I know what I did was wrong but Ally, you have to understand that that wasn't me," Dallas tried to explain.

"Save it for someone who cares, Dallas," Ally said. She reached for the door and tried to close it but Dallas was faster. His arm reached out and stopped the door.

"What the hell do you want from me?!" Ally shouted.

"Please Ally... Hear me out!"

"Why exactly should I listen to anything you say?" Ally asked bitterly.

"Tell me one good reason."

"I can't because... I have none. Ally, I've lost everything. My friends, my family and my life. I know that I don't want to lose you either," Dallas said.

"W-what?"

"A few days after we got together," he paused and took a deep breath, "My parents got into an accident and they never made it out," he tried to explain.

"Since then, I was always angry and most of the time I lashed out at you. Every single one of my friends left me but you stayed. Then I heard that Austin was back. I thought I was going to lose you again."

"I couldn't lose you again. Then I figured that I'd lose you anyways. I thought that I could get back at him but I ended up hurting you too."

"I don't want to be the enemy, Ally. I just want a second chance to be... Your friend. I'm so sorry, Ally," Dallas said.

Ally walked up to him and gave him a slap on the face. Tears welled up in her eyes. She grabbed him and hugged him tightly. His eyes widen in shock but when he recovered, he hugged her back.

"I forgive you, Dallas," Ally said.

She pulled away and continued, "Lucky for you, I believe in second chances but... You only get one more chance. Don't disappoint me," Ally warned.

"I won't," Dallas said with a smile.

"Thank you, Ally," he said.

"Alright, I'm actually expecting Austin instead of you so..." Ally trailed off, hoping that Dallas would get the hint.

"Oh! Right, sorry. Thanks again!" Dallas said before he left.

As soon as Dallas left, Austin arrived.

"Austin! Hey!"

"Why was Dallas here? He didn't hurt you, did he?" Austin asked.

"No, Austin, I'm fine. Do I look hurt to you?"

"No... Then what did he want?"

"He wanted to apologize for everything."

"And you bought that?"

"Austin, unlike you, I believe in second chances. Can you just bare with it for a while?" Ally asked.

"If he screws up, then there won't be anymore chances. Please? For me?" she added.

"Fine," he gave in, "But I don't like it one bit," he added.

"I don't expect you too. C'mere," Ally pulled him in for a hug.

"I love you and nothing is going to change that," Ally said.

"I love you too, Ally. With all my heart," he said.

They pulled away and took Ally's suitcase and headed to the airport. The ride to the airport was quiet. Austin eased the car to a stop at the parking lot and held his girlfriend's hand.

"Are you ready for this?"

"As ready as I'll ever be," Ally said.

He gave her a smile, "Let's go, Dawson."

They entered the airport and met up with Trish, Dez, Cassidy, Jason, Elliot, Carter, Lester and even Dallas.

"Those are the people you know and love, even if it's for a short while. If you think you're alone, picture us. We'll always be with you, no matter where you go," Austin whispered to her.

Ally hugged each and every one of them and then Austin walked her to the departure hall. Austin gave her a final goodbye kiss and watched her plane fly off.

The next day, Austin woke up alone. His phone started to buzz. With a groan, he stretched out and answered it.

"Uh.. Hello?" he said sleepily.

"Austin!" the person on the other line exclaimed.

"Carter? What's wrong? Are you hurt?" Austin asked, suddenly wide awake. He sat up.

"No! I'm fine, but now that I've got your attention... I just got a huge record deal!"

"No way! Are you serious?"

"Yeah! I'm flying to New York to meet my band. They said that I might need to move there. Isn't that great?"

"Carter, I'm so proud of you! Congratulations! But um... New York..." he trailed off.

"I'll keep an eye on your girlfriend for you," Carter said. Austin could probably tell that she rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, she's not my girlfriend anymore but I'd still want you to keep an eye on her," Austin said.

"What? What happened?"

"We both agreed that long distance relationships wouldn't last so we broke up," he explained.

"Oh.. I'm so sorry," Carter said.

"Don't be. I'll see you guys soon."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"It means that in a few years, I'll be there. For both of you," Austin said.

"You better be," Carter said.

"I gotta go. Goodbye, Carter. I'll see you soon," Austin said.

"Goodbye, Austin."

Then the two hung up. Austin flopped back on the bed with a smile on his face. He's going to see them soon. It's not forever.
