Feast of Betrayal

Haruka's jaw was hurting but he couldn't seem to close his mouth. His eyes were wide at the sight before him and every time, Haruka tried to close his eyes and turn away, his eyes seemed to have a will of their own, spreading themselves even wider. Haruka wanted to try and forget what was displaying in front of him but he couldn't. His heart was beating frantically, his entire body shaking and shivering, his stomach flipping upside down, his whole world crashing down all at once. Haruka should've guessed this would happen because how could it not? It was all his own damn fault and if anything, Haruka could only hate himself for this.

When Makoto's tongue curled around Rin's, Haruka wanted to tear both boys apart, first punching Rin in the face and then slapping Makoto's cheek. This felt like utter betrayal and Haruka winced as a breathy little moan escaped from Rin's throat. It was like Haruka's worst nightmare had just come true. Makoto had given him the cold shoulder but upon seeing Rin, a flame sparked in the olive-haired male and instead of kissing Haruka, Makoto ended up kissing Rin. Haruka couldn't even blame either of them because it was Haruka who had yearned for Rin in the first place. He didn't want either of them to get hurt but it seemed that in the end, he was the one to crash and burn.

When Rin pulled away slightly, crimson eyes fell on Haruka and the raven-haired male finally closed his mouth, wishing that this was some kind of bad joke. Perhaps they would turn around and laugh at him for believing that the old flame had sparked anew between Rin and Makoto.

I want to run to the middle of nowhere… instead of making me feel better, you keep making me ill…

Haruka opened his mouth to say something, anything to make this nightmare go away. Haruka was about to find his voice but he was silenced by a pair of strong lips against his slightly parted ones. He knew who was kissing him but it wasn't the person he had yearned for, still, Haruka gave in and kissed back eagerly, his body betraying his heart. Rin's fingers played with the strands of hair at the nape of Haruka's neck and the raven-haired male slipped his hands around Rin's waist to hold him close. In the back of his mind, he should think about the reactions of the people on the street. Makoto first had Rin liplocked and now Haruka's lips were messing around with Rin's. Haruka's mind went blank as soon as Rin pushed his tongue into his mouth and when their tongues collided, Haruka's body began to heat up.

I need attention to stop the temptation to scream…

When Haruka pulled away, his eyes were glazed over, boring his own gaze into Rin's. Haruka wanted to ask Rin so many questions but it seemed that he had lost his ability to speak once again. Why did Makoto kiss the redhead? Why hadn't Haruka received any attention whatsoever? Where would they go from here? Was this Rin's plan all along? Why did he agree to go to the movies? Why did… Haruka's thoughts were interrupted by a jab in his side and he tilted his head a little, questioning Rin's motives to jab him like that.

"Relax," Rin breathed out while trying to stifle his laugh. Why was Rin so happy? Why was Haruka the only one that seemed bothered by all of this? Haruka let go of Rin and he took a step back, his eyes flitting towards Makoto. The olive-haired male kept his gaze steady on Rin, still ignoring Haruka's presence. Haruka wanted to grab Makoto by the collar and shake him, the feeling to strangle his best friend gripping at his heart. Why was this happening?

With a weak heart, Haruka trudged behind Rin and Makoto to enter the movie theatre. Haruka paid both of them no attention, his mind processing thoughts Haruka never wanted to have in the first place. The 'what if's and why's' running around and making his head feel heavy with dread. Haruka didn't even know what movie they were going to watch, it's not that he cared anyway, he just wanted to go home and… what would he do though? What was he worth without Makoto anyway? Wasn't Makoto the one who told him to never change? Wasn't Makoto something different but then, why did everything fall apart?

Haruka would never cry over something like this, especially not when he was in public. It's not that he didn't want to cry because he wanted to but he remained strong. He wasn't going to let Rin and Makoto crawl under his skin. Perhaps he needed to start ignoring both of them, letting them realise who they were messing with. Makoto was pushing him away and Rin was pulling him in and Haruka didn't want to be in the middle. He wanted to be by Makoto's side but when he locked eyes with those shining crimson ones, Haruka felt odd inside. It was like a small flickering flame that was fighting desperately to stay lit. Did it mean that Haruka wanted Rin? Did it mean that Makoto wasn't the only one that Haruka wanted by his side? Haruka was just about ready to smash his head against a wall when a strong hand grabbed one of his own. Haruka knew that familiar touch of skin and it burned, it burned him so badly.

Haruka's body reacted so strongly and yet Haruka just held the hand, refusing to look up. A part of him was afraid that Makoto still wouldn't look at him and another part just didn't want to look at Makoto. He wanted to remember Makoto when he was happy, not when he was being this cold and distant. Haruka's feet seemed to move on their own and he followed Rin and Makoto without even thinking about it. Haruka's fingers were entwined with Makoto's and Haruka should feel happy about the touch, but he simply couldn't. Did this mean that he would have to share Makoto forever? What if Rin and Makoto shared him and he was just someone they would occasionally fuck? Haruka felt sick when he entered the room, glancing briefly over the seats, noticing that they were only a few people present. He let himself be dragged towards the last row of seats. He took a seat next to Makoto and Rin sat on the other end of Haruka, boxing him in. Haruka could care less about who sat next to who, he didn't even want to be here anymore.

The lights dimmed and the sound of the small teaser trailers quickly filled the room. Haruka could hear Rin munching on some popcorn and Haruka couldn't even remember buying popcorn. He felt so misplaced and he thought that if he got up and walked away, no one would even care. Makoto had Rin, that much was obvious and why would Makoto want both of them?

Haruka was nothing like Rin. The redhead represented a strong blazing fire that never seemed to die down. Haruka was like a soft wash of water, lapping gently, showering someone with love even if it wasn't always that clear. Haruka wondered whether Makoto was ever truly interested in him, what if he was just someone Makoto used to feel good? In the beginning, it certainly seemed that way but after a while, Haruka fell in love with Makoto and now, it ached so much. He wanted to sit in Makoto's lap, to be held, whispered to, to be kissed and… loved. The movie started playing and Haruka noticed that Rin shifted a little in his seat, clearly ready for the movie to start. Haruka paid no attention to his right because then the ache would deepen even more. But what if this was the last chance to ever look at Makoto?

Haruka turned his head slightly, afraid of what he might see but he gasped, softly but surely. Emerald gems regarded him with a soft wash of love and Haruka wondered whether he had dreamt everything that had happened earlier. Emerald and sapphire clashed and Makoto's gaze said everything that Haruka wanted to hear and even more.

"I…love you," Makoto whispered softly and Haruka thought that maybe Makoto had whispered it to Rin, but when Makoto's strong fingers caressed Haruka's cheek, the raven-haired male realised that he was the one that Makoto loved. It was hard to believe because why did Makoto act do distant before, but then, Haruka saw it. Makoto was afraid to show how he truly felt because he had enjoyed his time with Rin so much as well. Haruka believed that maybe, Rin would be an inevitable part of their relationship from now on. Haruka's heartbeat picked up and he realised that he would be strong enough to handle it because Makoto truly loved him. Haruka didn't want to think about the possibility that Makoto also loved Rin. To Haruka, Makoto's love was clear as crystal and Haruka would cherish it for the rest of his life.

Haruka crawled in Makoto's lap and he pressed his forehead against Makoto's, feeling his skin burn where his skin touched Makoto's. Their breaths mingled and it was like they breathed love into each other. Haruka was faintly aware that Rin had taken his seat, crawling towards the two of them. Haruka didn't care, a part of him needed Rin as well, even if the redhead seemed to bring chaos. He also brought something that Haruka knew he needed in his life…competition.

Haruka's lips met Makoto's and at first, the kiss was all about showing how much their hearts belonged together, but soon enough, their tongues danced with each other's both fighting for that ounce of dominance. Makoto caught Haruka's lower lip between his teeth and nibbled softly. Haruka smiled when Makoto released him.

Rin's eyes sparkled when he was gazed at by both Haruka and Makoto. The redhead knew that this would be the perfect chance to bring them all together. He had talked to Makoto before he left and he knew exactly how Makoto felt. Rin figured Makoto would give Haruka the cold shoulder because it was something Makoto tended to do when he was unsure of his feelings. Rin had experienced that often enough in the past. The redhead was a scheming devil and it seemed that his scheme turned out beautifully. Rin brushed Haruka's bangs out of the way before their lips brushed, sending jolts of electricity through the three of them.

When Haruka and Rin parted a loud explosion rocked the entire movie theatre…

The power has arrived in the dream team, a force where one and one makes three…
