~Time Skip~
Monday morning
During Class
No one's POV
Where is Eva? Why isn't she here?
Emi came into the room and glared at Kyoya.
He didn't understand why she was acting that way for her sister…After all this was between him and Eva. No one else!
Tamaki even gave him the cold shoulder throughout class.
What is wrong with everyone today? Or is it just me?
~Time Skip~
After-school
All of the Host Club was glaring at him.
I am getting tired of this…
"What?" he snapped.
For once, none of them backed down at his temper. Interesting…
Chrissy-Tia ran into the Club Room and slapped Kyoya. "You idiot! How could you be so perceptive when it comes to everyone else but when it comes down to you and her you are so dense?"
"…" Kyoya was too stunned to speak.
"I should curse you right now", said Keiko.
B.J. glowered at him with her arms crossed over her chest.
Chrissy-Tia's expression softened a bit.
"Kyoya, Evangeline loves you. She has been in love for a while, probably since she first laid eyes on you. She fell in love with your intelligence and resourcefulness first, and then all of your other aspects came into play. She is under the impression that she is the only one in love in your relationship. Prove her wrong. I know that you care for her, you just you are afraid that your heart will be broken. Kyoya, that's everyone's major fear when falling in love. But you should try a new concept called trust. Try it and it might you might live happily ever after".
The 3 girls walked out of the room.
Kyoya was stunned and the rest of the Host Club saw his mask slip.
"Sempai, she's right. You need to trust Eva-Sempai; otherwise you will never be truly happy", said Haruhi matter-of-factly.
"I am aware of that Haruhi. That's why I have to work to gain back my personal happiness, by making sure my investment becomes rescued", he said.
Haruhi sweat dropped, "Um, Sempai, that's not what not what I meant."
"Haruhi, you do realize investments can also be based on emotions? Eva is my most important investment that I never want to lose. She means more to me than anything else, and I will make sure that she knows that I reciprocate feelings for her. I also want all of you to know that if anyone ever tries to take her from me, I will personally make sure that I will destroy them financially and socially."
Kyoya went over to the door, to get ready to start the Host Club.
'He's so scary…I would definitely not want to mess with his girl'.
'I can't believe that Kyoya actually admitted that he has feelings for someone!'
'Well at least he admitted it! I just hope that Eva will come back and witness his turnaround'.
'It's about time that Kyo-chan admitted it! I've known it from the very first moment he laid eyes on her!'
'My best friend in the whole wide world is in love with a beautiful Princess! I am so happy for him! I can't wait to see the two of them get married and have children! Then they will live happily after…'
'Finally! It is dishonorable to make a woman think that she is unloved'.
~Time Skip~
Friday
Eva finally came back!
Kyoya had been trying to approach her all day, but she bolted every time he would get close to her.
He finally caught her.
"Kyoya let go of me." He spun her into his arms and hugged her. She stopped resisting him immediately. He is hugging me! He has never done this before!
"Please forgive me Eva. I am so sorry for causing you pain. I do care about you Eva, and it pained me when I jumped to conclusions about that phone call of yours. I just felt jealous that someone else could make you act like that, now I have been set straight that you love me". He knows? He probably only likes me…and doesn't feel the same way.
"Kyoya, I forgive you, but I'm still angry that you still don't understand what I need from you, but I will deal. Could you please let go of me?" He let her go slowly. If he had held me a second longer, I would have tackled him and start viciously attacking his lips.
"Why does she look like she is restraining herself?"
"Eva, would you still do the honor of meeting me at the ball tomorrow night? I need you there with me Eva."
"So will you go?" he asked with evident desperation in his voice. I could get used to hearing that in his voice.
"Kyoya, I am your fiancée. I have to be there…See you tomorrow night."
She ran away from him, and he did not blame her at all.
~Time Skip~
At the Ball
Kyoya was extremely anxious for Eva to arrive. Where is she? Did she get injured somehow? Chrissy-Tia instructed to bring all of the Hosts here and have them wear their trademark color…I have no idea why though.
7 mysterious figures appeared at the top of the staircase.
The first one was –Haruhi! - wearing a white dress with jewels encrusted across the midsection, the straps, and the crevice of her V-cut. Her hair was curled back and had extensions. She was wearing silver earrings and bracelets. Tamaki's and Hikaru's jaws dropped when they saw Haruhi.
The second one was-Keiko!- wearing a pale pink dress with encrusted jewels clumped like a star in her midsection and on her single left strap. Her hair was curled to the right. Honey stared at her in wonder.
The third one-Alex was in a dress! - wearing a form-fitting wedge orange dress with her hair in a French bump and curls cascading down her back. Kaoru was blushing so hard that both of his nostrils were bleeding.
The fourth one-Emi! - was wearing a light blue dress with golden seams on the top of the dress. Her hair was straightened. All of the Host Club was wondering why she was even there…
The fifth one-Chrissy-Tia! - was wearing a light yellow dress that only dipped into her cleavage with a light pleated flare on the flowing skirt. Her hair was down and naturally curled. Mori couldn't remember how to breathe when he saw her, until Honey punched him in the arm.
The sixth one-Eva!-was wearing a dark purple pleated dress encrusted with jewels in the shape of an inverse tiara in her midsection. Her encrusted straps went around her neck. Her dress was backless and flowing. Her hair was pulled over to the left side and curled. She was wearing two dangling purple earrings. Kyoya became tongue-tied and everyone's jaws dropped to the floor. She was truly the bell of the ball.
The final one was an older beautiful woman, but her black dress was far too simple for the guests. So they easily shoved their image of her out of their head, except for Yoshio Ootori (Kyoya's dad!).
Kyoya took Eva by the arm and kissed her on the cheek, which made her blush. He led her away to talk to her.
Hikaru and Tamaki began to fight over Haruhi.
Haruhi slowly breathed in and out. This damn rich bastards! Why do they always want to play with me whenever I'm in a dress? I just don't get it! Tamaki-Sempai looks like he is going to Disney World. And Hikaru looks like a hungry animal…I wonder why they are acting like this.
Emi loudly complained while plopping into a chair, "I would rather be home".
Hikaru turned on her, "Why did you even come then?"
She shrugged, "If I didn't come then neither would have Keiko, Alex, or Haruhi. They refused to wear their dresses unless I came too…"
Keiko sat down next to Emi with a loud exhale.
Keiko added, "I am thinking of cursing this pink monstrosity off of me".
"I hear you sister!" Emi exclaimed.
They high-fived.
The Host Club sweat dropped at them.
Mori kept staring at Chrissy-Tia.
"Takashi-san, is there something on my face?" 'Is there something on me? Oh God, please don't let me die of embarrassment'.
"No".
She blinked then asked him, "Would you like to get some cake with me?"
He was stunned by her forwardness. He then looked back at Honey.
She surprised him even more by stating, "You won't always be next to Honey. You need to learn to think for yourself and be selfish. Also the cake isn't that far from him, so you will be able to rejoin him within minutes. Plus you'll be able to give him some cake".
He nodded slowly, and then walked over with her to get some cake.
"Who was that other woman with you guys?" asked Hikaru.
"Our grandma", stated Emi. The remaining Hosts tensed. The woman from last week…
"Where is she Emi-chan?" asked Honey.
"I don't know Sempai, but knowing her…most likely socializing", she answered. Or she's disappeared again…She always does that. If Alex was our biological sister, I would say that she gets those creepy ninja skills from her. Hikaru looks nice tonight…Too bad he only cares about 1 thing and she is completely oblivious to his affections. How blind is she? She has two guys who are in love with her and she has no idea. Gee Whiz what an idiot!
Alex was acting quiet around Kaoru-well quieter than usual- and he was getting nervous.
"Kaoru, do you approve of my dress?" she timidly asked.
He nodded slowly. For once, he didn't have anything to critic her on about her appearance…Though not saying she didn't look trashy when she dressed normally…He loved her regular style as well as this elegant wear she had put on. She's so beautiful!
She blushed and shyly asked, "Would you like to dance with me?"
Hell yah! "Of course, I would."
He led her to the dance floor. Though she was two inches taller than him, he still managed to get her all flustered and make butterflies in her stomach…She would never tell him that…
"They make a cute couple don't they?" asked Chrissy-Tia.
Takashi "Mori" turned around to see who she was referring to. He saw Kaoru and Alex dancing. He gave a soft smile.
"Yeah". They need to just confess already! After all, you only get one chance to confess your true feelings to the one that you love.
"Good thing, I made them all wear their respective partners' theme colors".
Mori realized that she purposely matched every girl with a certain Host's color.
Haruhi matches with Tamaki.
Keiko matches with Honey.
Alex matches with Kaoru.
Eva matches with Kyoya.
Emi matches with Hikaru.
But there is no one for me…
Mori looked at Chrissy-Tia.
"Don't worry big guy, I'm going to find you someone special as well."
He smiled softly at her.
Oh, but I might have already found her…
They returned to the table with many plates of cake.
Meanwhile Kyoya was trying to phrase his words correctly.
"Eva I…"
"No don't say anything. I need to tell you something…I'm sick of being the one that people leave behind…I want someone to care for me and stay with me…Kyoya I love you unconditionally…I will understand if you…"
He kissed her intensely. This kiss was different from the others. It revealed his pain, longing, passion, and requited love. Eva looked into his eyes, and saw what she wanted all her life to see…longing. Oh, my lord! He wants me as much as I want him.
He broke away. She was breathless from this revelation and his intense kissing…He took this moment quickly to explain, "I am in love with you Eva. I got angry with you last week, because of that call you got…I assumed that it was the person you loved romantically. However, when I finally traced that number, I discovered that it was indeed your grandmother as you told me…I realized that I was jealous of the idea of anyone trying to make you theirs, when I wanted you to be mine…I couldn't bear the thought if I lost you to someone else…Can you forgive my lapse of intelligence?"
Eva realized how much emotional pain he was in over this and decided to forgive him wholeheartedly.
"Kyoya, I forgive you, but promise me next time you look up the facts before you jump to conclusions".
He smiled. A real smile that was huge. He then bent down on one knee and opened a huge box that held the purple necklace and a beautiful diamond ring with a purple gem in the middle.
"Will you marry me from the heart; and not just for the sake of our family's' companies joining?"
"I will!" she exclaimed with tears of joy streaming down her face.
He then placed the ring on her finger and snapped the necklace around her neck.
She threw her arms around his neck and kissed him passionately.
Yoshio Ootori looked on as his son was enjoying his beautiful love in his arms.
He was happy that their arrangement was working out in that way for them. Most people thought of him as a very heartless man, but he was very heartfelt…He just didn't want people to find out so he didn't show it at all…He used to be caring before he pushed away the love of his life and was forced to marry a heartless woman…But that was many years ago and I have changed since then.
A woman in the crowd looked around for a man who broke her heart a long time ago… Oh Ootori. Where are you?
Chrissy-Tia had snuck away from her relatives and the Host Club to answer an important phone call from Nicole; she told her that she was engaged to her boyfriend as of last week. She had told her cousin congrats and talked with her a little while longer until her and her fiancée Ritsu started making out.
Young love is so wild, she mused.
She then caught a beautiful glimpse of Kyoya and Eva kissing and confessing their love to one another (although it was technically just Kyoya confessing and not so much Eva)…My dreams were right again! Thank God! I always listen to them about everything even the smallest details.
She came back to the ball room happy as can be. 3 down, 5 more to go.
She had a sudden unsettling feeling that something dreadful was going to happen…She saw a man heading over towards Haruhi and was slowly pulling out a semi-automatic.
Chrissy-Tia wasted no time. She picked up her dress and ran over to Haruhi. Once she reached her, she pushed Haruhi out of the way.
The gun went off and the bullet seared through her abdomen.
A sharp pang spiraled throughout her body.
She fell to the ground…and was dimly aware of the chaos that happened around her.
"Call an ambulance!" shouted a familiar voice. Alex?
"Alexandria, please save this dress," she uttered before she slipped into unconsciousness.

Author's Note: There will be a sequel to this story and it will be called "The Scars of the Past". It will be primarily Alex and Kaoru's story. Keiko and Honey will start moving toward a little romance…Who knows maybe even a little Tamaki/Haruhi/Hikaru action. And much more!
