-The Legend of Zelda: Island of Dreams-
In the Portal
The portal led into a massive multicolored void. Link couldn't see anything within except the hand that had taken King Harkinian into the mysterious portal, which was making its way towards a smaller portal.
Link: "Get back here! Drop the king and tell me what this place is!"
Link found he had to swim around the no-gravity void. Every time he got close to the hand, it warped towards the small portal even more. Eventually, both the hand and Link made it through the portal. What lay beyond the portal defied even Link's imagination.
Unknown Area
The area beyond the portal bore a slight resemblance to Pi'illo Castle. The emphasis here is on the word "slight." While the castle Link was familiar with had typical stone brick walls, this place had brick walls that were constantly shifting, making everything a swirling, migranine-inducing landscape. There were large windows hanging in the air, though these didn't seem to connect to anything and opened up to a bizarre raibow-colored landscape. On top of that, massive statues of some beast held torches high above themselves. But all of Link's attention was on the still-escaping hand.
Link: "Hey! Get back here and tell me where this is!"
Link followed the hand down a nearby hallway, with a massive series of doorways to his left and right. He tried to follow the hand through one, but just popped out in another door. He went through every door he could, even coming out the door he walked into at one point, but he got nowhere.
Link: "So this is it, then. Trapped in an endless hallway with no way out. I'm... sorry, King Harkinian."
Before Link could start crying, he heard a small chiming noise. Locating the source of the sound, he saw a light purple ball of energy drifting along the hallway. He decided to follow to see what it was, and found out that the orb was guiding him through the doors, and they eventually found themselves in a small room.
Link: "Thanks, whatever you are. Man, if Zelda found out I was about to start crying..."
Zelda: "Well, she knows now."
Link: "HOLY MOTHER OF ARCEUS! WHO SAID THAT?"
That question was answered as the ball of light began glowing brighter. When the light faded, Zelda was standing next to him, giggling uncontrollably.
Link: "Why the heck are you here, Zelda?"
Zelda: "Well, it's my dream. I'd assume I'd be in it."
Link: "What do you mean this is a dream? And why do you look different?"
Zelda did indeed look different. The saphirre on he crown was now a constantly shifting rainbow of color, and her nightgown-like dress had become longer and more etheral, almost ghost-like.
Zelda: "Well, Tingle's gas put me right to sleep, and I started dreaming about the castle. As to why I look different, once again, it's my dream. I can make myself look any way I want. A bit taller, prettier, and more mature than the normal me."
Link: "Nothing could make you look prettier... I mean, you saw the hand too, I presume?"
Zelda: "Quite honestly, I have no clue why I'd dream of a giant disembodied hand carrying away my dad into the castle labryinth. But yeah, I saw it."
Link: "That hand is demonuic! We are going to have to take that thing out of commision."
Zelda: "And how are you going to do that without your sword?"
Link looked in his pocket. Sure enough, his sword was missing. AGAIN.
Zelda: "We could search for that old plain sword, but in the interest of time, I've got something to more than make up for it."
Zelda outstrecthed her arms and a massive burst of multicolored electricity appeared. The electricity toned down a bit, and Link could see a new sword appear. It was razor-sharp, it had two curving blades that looked like a double helix, and a gem at its hilt was glowing with green energy.
You got the Helix Sword! This dream-powered sword was given to you as a replacement for the lost one. The Helix Sword can dish out melee damage on top of being able to fire bolts of energy!
As soon as Link took the Helix Sword, a small hole in the wall opened up. Inside, there was what appeared to be a massive horde of Boroblin, but they were purple and seemed much better coordinated.
Zelda: "Crap! We woke up some Doroblins! I couldn't stop dreaming about them after the Boroblin attack!"
Link: "How do you know what they are?"
Zelda: "It's my dream. I'm supposed to know everything about it."
As it turned out, the Doroblins were even weaker than the actual thing. A simple wave of energy from Link's new Helix Sword wiped them all out instantly. The two kept walking down the path that had opened up, and eventually cornered the hand and Harkinian.
Link: "Alright, drop the king or I'll use this on you!"
Zelda: "Daddy! Stay calm! You'll be okay!"
Harkinian: "Zelda! Link! Where are we? What's this thing? Why is my daughter dressed like that?"
?: "Foolish children... You vill never be able to stop me..."
Link: "The hand talks now? Ok, what are you really?"
?: "A prisoner... Of this cursed realm... But soon... I shall escape... And your souls... should serve as a nice snack before this man helps me do so..."
Harkinian: "Why would I ever help you, you monstrosity?"
Link: " You're nothing but a hand! What could you possibly do to me and Zelda?"
A massive puff of purple smoke appeared as Link asked the question, when it cleared, he saw a carbon copy of himself, but colored pure purple with yellow eyes. It had a psychotic grin on its face, like it was about to slaughter them.
?: "I... von't be doing the damage here... Get them! SCREEE!"
The evil copy of Link dashed at the real one. Link was at the ready, and he parried the clone's oncoming charge. The two slashed at each other, countering every blow, until Link was tired out. The copy, however, seemed to be full of energy, and tried to decapitate Link as he fell to the ground exhausted.
Zelda: "Link, look out!"
Link: (no response)
Zelda: "Gah! Am I going to have to do this myself? Come at me, you fake!"
As much as the Dream Link tried to attack the princess, her ghostly form made her immune to every one of his strikes. Link got to his feet while it was distracted and plunged the Helix Sword through its chest, watching it explode into another shower of smoke and light.
Link: "Victory! Woo!"
Zelda: "As much as I want to say you did nothing, I think we make a good team, Link."
Link: "I'll say! Now, hand, give us back the king! Or else you will die!"
?: "My, my... You two are strong... escpecially you, boy... but my plan vill not fail!"
Zelda: "No! Let my dad go!"
As soon as she said that, a large red portal appeared in the ground under the hand. It sank into it, and before Zelda or Link could reach Harkinian, the portal dissappeared.
Zelda: "What do we do know? And who was that thing?"
Tingle: "I might have some answers..."
==Sorry for the massive hiatus, guys. My computer's gone bananas. I'll try to work here more often now.
Please review!
P.S. For reference, the Helix Sword is in fact the Fierce Deity's sword, scaled down for Toon Link proportions.
