-The Legend of Zelda: Island of Dreams-

Zelda's Dream

Link: "Tingle? How'd you get here?"

Tingle: "Fairy boy... your Highness... There's a lot I haven't told you."

Tingle stepped out of the shadows. His typical tiny upbeat smile was gone replaced by worry and fright.

Tingle: "Me and Dr. Shad... don't really own the island. We just sort of found it with only one being left alive. He told us his race had been wiped out by a massive monster, and he wanted us to take up the role of protecting the world from it. We just decided to bring all the other stuff in to make money on the side. That being passed away, but he gave Shad and I the power to access this place."

Zelda: "What do you mean? This is my dream."

Tingle: "No, it's not. This is the Dream World, pretty much an alternate dimension of the Great Sea. One of many, actually, but that's not the point. Anyway, the Dream World is only accessable through objects created by the Pi'illo Kingdom."

Tingle held up his arm. He was wearing a completely ordinary looking bracelet with the Pi'illo emblem on it.

Link: "What about Zelda, then? I don't think she has any Pi'illo artifacts."

Zelda: "Actually, I have a collection of Pi'illo stuff valued at over 20,000 Rupees. But wearable things? No."

Tingle: "Now, this is where the story gets interesting. You see, the Pi'illos were the offspring of the Wind Fish, god of dreams, and Majora, goddess of nightmares. Their parents made this entire realm just for them- only someone with the Pi'illo's blood could access it without an artifact."

Link: "Are you saying Zelda... is part Pi'illo? As crazy as that sounds, it explains a lot of things."

Link was taking this surprisingly well. Zelda? Not so much. She was near tears at the mention of being one of the race she'd spent her whole life learning about.

Zelda: "All this time... and nobody ever told me this? Why wouldn't they let me know I was like this?"

Tingle: "The bloodline from the Pi'illos traces back incredibly far. I think the reason nobody told you was because nobody knew. Anyways, I'm sure you and fairy boy are aware of that monster?"

Link: "The demonic hand that stole the king and belongs to a monster that tried to kill everyone on our ship? Yes."

Tingle: "Well, the only reason that monster attacked you at all was because of the princess. That thing won't stop at anything until it kills any trace of the Pi'illo blood. And stealing your father? It was searching for you, my dear."

Now Zelda had really lost it. She ran off (as best as she could manage with no real legs) crying with no sign of stopping. Link glared at Tingle.

Link: "Tingle! Not only is Zelda having to deal with her father being kidnapped and being half-extinct, but now you're blaming it all on her?!"

Tingle: "Big talk from a little kid! Let me ask you this- do you want her to feel better?"

Link: "Of course. I pledged to protect and care for the royal family."

Tingle: "Are you sure there's nothing else?"

Ooh, he got you there. Should I tell him, or...

Link: "Nope. Nothing else whatsoever. I just do what I can with absolutely no personal gain involved."

Liar.

Tingle: "Well, what you you say if I told you that there was a way to rescue him?"

At that moment, Zelda rushed back to the two. Her sadness was replaced by a look of pure rage and determination.

Zelda: "I would say that I'd dream up something to beat the crap out of you if you didn't tell us!"

Tingle: "That's my princess. Anyway, you father isn't dead. He's been taken to a place known as the Slumbering Realm."

Link: "I'm assuming it's not a few feet from the castle, is it?"

Tingle: "Honestly, not even Shad and I know how to access it. But if you can somehow find Pi'illo ruins, they may hold something you can use."

Zelda: "I'm going too!"

Link: "Er- Zelda, are you sure you should..."

Zelda: "Link, if this is my fault, helping you is the least I can do. Besides, how are you going to get to the Dream World without me?"

Link: "Good point. Welcome aboard, princess."

Pi'illo Castle

In the real world, everyone had gathered around Zelda's bed. The three royalty members, Magis and Ganondorf were all awaiting the return of Harkinian. Well, all but one...

Ganondorf: "Magis?"

Magis: "Yes, sire?"

Ganondorf: "Our plan to... do away with the king..."

Magis: "With these recent developments, I'm not sure it'll be necessary."

Ganondorf: "I have a strange feeling about that monster from before. When I looked at it, I could swear its goals where the same as mine."

Suddenly, the portal appeared over Zelda's head. Everyone was happy to see the king safe- then their brains were broken when Link appeared on his own.

Vaati: "Where's the king?"

Link: "We have a LOT to talk about.
