Don't own Minecraft. Notch does, along with his friends (ex. Dinnerbone), Mojang, and affiliate companies.

Anyways, this idea came out of the blue while thinking. I always like a cool hero, and a self-sacrifice can usually knock someone normal into the hero category. This is not one of those times.

Somehow, the master thief Lupin got it into his head that there had to be amazing treasure at the Nether Fortress.

He'd stolen many times before, ranging from (in his early days) just pickpocketing or taking pies steaming and cooling off at a window counter to his newest heists, which earned him the title of master thief from the media and the populace.

Yet this was different. There'd be danger at every corner, although that's not to say Lupin was afraid of danger. His heists had landed him on the Top Ten Most Notorious list, as (once he decided to be a full-fledged criminal) he mugged people, murdered others for their possessions, held people hostage, and yes, still continued to steal pies from windowsills.

These various crimes sometimes put him at swordpoint, bowpoint, or even caused him to be threatened by TNT directly under his feet. Nonetheless, he always kept his cool and thought of a way out of his situations.

Now, he was aware that the Nether brought new dangers, so he'd need a sidekick just for this mission. Lupin handpicked the perfect person, kidnapped them from their home at night while they slept, and now was currently about to try to convince them that they need to help him steal all the Nether Fortress loot possible.

The blonde teenage girl he tied to a chair in front of him was not amused, and was currently debating whether this warranted a knockout by book to skull, or if killing him would count as self-defense. Her pigtails were still in their little bags on his head, but her emerald eyes glared holes into the criminal in front of her.

"Now-" he began but the girl cut him off.

"I assume you want my help in stealing something, and if you need help then it must be something dangerous or difficult to obtain." She said, monotone with boredom.

"N- Yes, that is precisely why I picked you. I knew you'd be a good pick; smart, a bit lonely, and someone who habitually locks their door to prevent their father from coming inside to wake her up with a proclamation of love and a hug."

"Yeah. Whatever. Look, I'll help, but I want one thing along with whatever the Nether you plan to give me, if anything, on our 'mission.'"

The thief was nearly reconsidering his choice, when he gave in. After all, it was one item; what could go wrong? He nodded. "Sure, kid. What do you want? A pony?"

If the girl hadn't been bound to the chair, she'd probably have caused him massive cranial damage just for that remark, but she composed herself. "An Ender Pearl. I'll hang onto it, and if we get in a sticky situation you can grab me and I'll throw it, teleporting us away from whatever would normally hurt us."

Lupin asked, "Why do you get to hold it?"

"You said it yourself. I'm smart, so I'll know when it's a waste of a pearl or not."

The thief thought it over. "Alright, I'll give you your orb. Now, we're going to rob the Nether Fortress."

The girl was a bit shocked, as the man who stole her from her home didn't even bother to let her change out of her pajamas, and now expected her to walk across a fiery land in another dimension with bunny slippers.

"At least Papa will be freaking out," she noted with some happiness. After all, he deserved to suffer a bit after continually cheating on the girl's mother.

Lupin wondered how he'd kill this girl once the job was done. After all, she could and probably would reveal to the authorities where his lair was. Killing her in the current hellish dimension seemed to be the optimal choice, as her body would be burnt up in the Nether's flames and lava.

Either way, their destination was quickly approaching: the Nether Fortress.

The pair reached an entrance to the rouge castle-like structure, before rattling from behind them made them turn.

A Wither skeleton towered over them, and raised its sword to strike down the thief first. Lupin grabbed the girl and placed her in front of him for her to take the blow.

She had no intention of dying that day. Quickly fishing out the Ender Pearl, she threw it towards the Nether Portal that had brought them there.

"Later, Lupin. Or not," she smirked as the pearl broke in front of the portal, mere feet away. She was teleported to the shattered pieces, and could see the thief get sliced into.

"Seems to be a classic decapitation," she noted. "No feedback from the brain to the body and vice versa. The brain dies from lack of blood, and the body dies from lack of directions. Ooh, now the skeleton's just stabbing the dead body. Whatever. Hope Papa doesn't freak out too much when I get home."

She passed through the purple portal, happy to leave her captor behind to rot.

So, yes, that was it. A bit small, but I think I did well. Anyways, a cookie to whoever can tell me the inspiration for the female character first, if you all are hungry for cookies.
