Ash looked at Ritchie, who stared back. "The Red Corner (Ash) will choose first" said the referee. "Go, Butterfree" ordered Ash. "Go, Happy (Ritchie's Butterfree)" Ritchie ordered.
"Happy, use Sunny Day, then use Solarbeam" ordered Ritchie. "Butterfree, use Acrobatics to dodge and get close to it, then use Aerial Impact." The sun shone brightly, and Happy shot a concentrated beam of grass energy, which Butterfree dodged and used a combination of Aerial Ace and Giga Impact to knock out Happy.
"Go, Rose (Ritchie's Swellow)" Ritchie ordered. "Go, Swellow" Ash ordered. "Rose, use Brave Bird" ordered Ritchie. Swellow was struck by Rose's Brave Bird. Rose then took recoil damage. "Swellow, use Brave Double Impact " Ash ordered. Swellow struck Rose, knoicking her out, then taking recoil damage.
"Go, Sparky (Ritchie's Pikachu)" ordered Ritchie. "Go, Pikachu" Ash ordered. "Sparky, use Volt Tackle" ordered Ritchie. Pikachu was struck, and yawned as if to say 'is that the best you can do'. Sparky was then hurt by recoil damage. "Pikachu, unleash ZEKROM'S WRATH!" Ash roared. Pikachu used a combination of Volt Tackle, and Return 10 feet away from Sparky. The sky darkened, as thunderclouds gathered around Pikachu, while Pikachu glowed with legendary power! Ash used Aura to protect everyone, as Pikachu struck the spot that he was aiming for. When the smoke cleared, it was revealed that Ash had shielded Sparky with Aura as well. Sparky however, was heavily wounded. He was sent to the emergency center of the Pokemon center. "I didn't think that it would do that much damage" Ash admitted.
"Go, Cruise (Ritchie's Tyranitar" Ritchie ordered, heavily shaken. At least that was his strongest pokemon though...right? "Go, Lucario" ordered Ash. "Lucario, use Lightspeed-Combat Punch" ordered Ash. Cruise fainted. Ritchie's Tentacruel suffered the same fate.
"Go, Zippo (Ritchie's Charizard)" ordered Ritchie. "Go, Charizard" ordered Ash. Ash's Charizard came out with a mighty roar, the temperature rising a few degrees when he was sent out. "Charizard, Blast Burn" Ash ordered. Zippo fainted.
Max's Sceptile and Shiftry tied with Jessie's Yanmega. It ended up with Slaking against Arbok, Arbok having fought heavily in the battle. Arbok froze Slaking with Ice Fang, and then used Fissure, knocking him out.
A/N Okay, I said that I would show the Max versus Jessie battle, but I decided not to because...I don't know. Whatever, if you want it, I might put it in a redone version of this chapter.
