AN: So, I've come to the decision to do the new OC submission story. HOWEVER *emphasis on the HOWEVER* I am not giving up on Cherry Blossom. Yes it will be deleted, yes it will be on hold for who knows how long, but I WILL be saving all of the character submissions for the story to use later and I WILL get back to it eventually. It's just right now I have no drive for it and need to focus on something else. I hate it when I don't have a story involved with my readers though, so a new one - now more thought out than Cherry ever was - will be posted by May 17th, if not sooner. Here's the information on the new story:
Title: Perception
Summary (for now): Dragonspyre is a world filled with diversity, legends, and lore. When an old prophecy re-arises with the remains of an ancient ruin, it sparks civil unrest among the inhabitants of the world, and with unrest comes war. When a group of mismatched civilians gets pulled into the fray its up to them to discover the cause of a seemingly endless war and put a stop to it.
- Takes place during the war, though main characters are not soldiers unless otherwise stated.
- Takes place in Dragonspyre pre-Titan attack. To be specific, Malistaire will be a student attending Ravenwood at this time (he may or may not make an appearance). Other worlds will be mentioned, especially if a character originates from that world.
- Story will be written in third-person so I can work with a larger cast of characters
- Will be AU and inconsistent with some things involving the game facts and junk.
- MIGHT become a trilogy; I have this story and a sequel planned, but unsure of a third book.
- Rating will be T/Light M. War is gritty, and if you know anything about me, I can be freakin' dark when I want to be. (I even wrote a story about someone torturing a cat! :D) The first book, however, will be considerably light.
As for character submissions, this will be more of a contest. Most detailed characters will win main parts, and all others may or may not be making an appearance some point within the two planned stories depending on if I can reasonably squeeze them in. A Forum has been set up here for you to submit them to, which can be found at the very beginning of my profile.
Selecting characters for main parts will be much easier and cleaner here than with Cherry. Why? Because I'm basing them off the seven main schools of magic. The most detailed Fire student claims spot of Pyromancer, most detailed Death student gets spot of Necromancer. No two main characters will belong to the same school. I want to show how the war is affecting each school via the characters. Here are the currently available schools:
Fire:
Storm:
Life:
Myth:
Death:
Balance:
***Ice is not available as that's my own character and the star of the show, Callia Brittlerose.***
To assure some of my readers, I will be completely unbiased when selecting characters. That means that I won't be playing favorites. New readers and old ones alike will each have an equal chance of winning a part.
If you are a guest reviewer and are unable to go to the forum to submit a character, have no fear. You can email me at the adress found on my profile. (no, it is NOT my personal email). If you don't have an email, then that's when you can leave a review on THIS story. I much prefer an email though as this story will be deleted once the new one is posted, and I don't want to forget any characters purely because I forgot to save them.
The character requirements will be posted on the forum to keep this thing un-cluttered.
To those of you who submitted characters for Cherry, you are able to submit those same characters for the new story. You simply have to re-post the information to the forum. No they are NOT guaranteed a part. HOWEVER, they are assured to appear in Cherry Blossom once I get the story back up. They will NOT be left un-used. If for some reason Cherry is just gone from my mind, I will write a one-shot or short chapter story for them. Believe me, I know the pain of not having your submissions seen in action in a story.
*Bubu's Suggestion for the Day*: If you struggle with creating well thought-out characters, go to . That site is perfect for beginner character-creators to get a real feel for what all should be involved with your character. Just create the character there and post a link on the forum and I'll go check it out.
Thats it then. If you have questions, go to the forum and ask under the "Rules" subject OR - if you're a guest - leave a review. I suggest looking at the rules before asking however; that's more to-the-point than this thing is.
Good luck with the submissions, and have no fear for Cherry Blossom won't be completely destroyed!
