I Know, I know; that was a bitch of a cliffy. But it's necessary to break this story up somewhere because it's 510 pages on my laptop and that's insane. O_o

Consider this your Daryl/Fin mid-season finale until sometime around 6/14 (if the show can do it then why not fics? haha)

I don't do 'Song Fanfics' but music is a huge part of how I write. This is a list of some of the music I used to inspire this Fanfiction, the characters and storyline. I highly recommend them; they're some of my favorite, beautiful and powerful and I think if you were to give them a listen you'd be able to see exactly where some of the emotions in this story came from.

My sometimes-beta Lnz who despite a paralyzing fear of zombies so intense she doesn't even watch the show had a field day tearing open chapters and going after my grammar with a red pen of doom.

Random Questions I've been asked in PM's:

How tall is Fin? 5 foot or 5' 1"

What does the Title Occasio Ultima mean? It's Latin for "Last Chance". It's a play both on Fin's last name and the recurring theme throughout the story of personal choices she's faced with repeatedly to protect herself; or others. Each time she takes a 'chance' exposing herself she gets closer to the people she's equally terrified will learn her secret, while weaving herself into their live, leading her closer to what she desperately wants: family and a chance to stay with them forever.

The last chapter plays on this title with Fin trying to get Carl to believe in her even when she's not sure herself. She needs him to believe he's going to live so she can believe she didn't just throw away her whole life for nothing!

Isn't Patrick dead? Yes! This was a huge mistake on my part! I got the names of Luke and Patrick mixed up for the kid in this story. Patrick died in the prison flu/zombie attack. I did not go back and change this once it was pointed out to me because of the OC Luke Chance I also had in the story; I thought having 'Luke' the kid die; and then 'Luke' Fin's cousin come into the story might lead to some readers going 'wait, What?!'

Are you a Richonne fan, will this story contain any Rick/Michonne? YES. I am a huge RICHONNE fan! LOVE IT! xD But while this (and the next) story will hint at R/M relationship forming/taking place it will not be the main focus in the chapters as of right now. That could change as the story progresses but since this is mostly Seraphim's story more likely they'll end up with a blurb in Tempus Ferati if the mood strikes!

Are you supposed to be Fin? LOL. No. Fin would kick my ass. Fin did get some of my characteristics, my height, hair and eyes; and probably a great deal of my sarcasm but like Norman Reedus insists he's NOT Daryl… I am not Fin. ^_^

How do you write this so fast? I have no idea; I have no life? I'm insane? I think about a million different things at once so when a story starts coming together into solid ideas sometimes It almost feels like I get possessed by a story and it just flies out! I'm not writing it so much as sitting in my head with the characters acting it out for me and I just transcribe they're antics and dialog! I don't always write things in order so often times if I've dumped 5 chapters at once it's because I've had those written forever and was just waiting for the story to catch up to that bit.

What do you do when you're not writing? OMG. You don't even want to know. I'm a total dork. If I'm not writing I'm either dancing in my kitchen, entertaining my son endlessly no doubt. Watching TWD re-runs, cleaning/cooking or working out (which I love to do, nothing works through a difficult chapter like a long run!) I also try to go riding through the backwoods of NC on weekends with my pony Nadia and my girlfriend Catty and her horse Hank. (usually joking the whole time that if we fall down a ravine we'd BETTER get to hallucinate Daryl or Merle!) I love to read, so I'm constantly reading and re-reading books I love.

How accurate is the medical stuff in this story? Please don't try any of this stuff at home. K? Thanks. LOL I try to keep things as real as possible, but it is fiction…. ; )

Do you hate Beth? No I like her, I do think she's been woefully ignored as far as fleshing out as a character by TWD show until just recently. She however filled a purpose in this story and I didn't feel it was improbable for a 17 year old girl to get jealous/act out when she has feelings for someone she doesn't feel notices her at all.

How old is Fin/Daryl? That is the question isn't it? TWD suggests that Daryl is somewhere in his mid-thirty's early forties…same as Rick. I try not to narrow this down too much, though in my opinion if Daryl has been basically following Merle around (before all this happened) that's a rough life, and that kind of life tends to make one look a bit older than they are. If I had to guess I'd say Daryl is somewhere around 32-36. Fin I can be more specific on since she's mine. Fin was born in 1986, which makes her roughly three years into The Turn 28 years old.
