Chapter 16

There was darkness. Darkness all around her as she lied there, helpless. She didn't feel anything. She couldn't feel anything. Pain, sorrow, or happiness. She couldn't feel any of those things. All she felt was...the warm air, hitting against her skin. Everything around her seemed to feel like warmth. Moka's eyes fluttered opened. She shot straight up, seeing that she was somewhere else. Somewhere, that wasn't at her house. She looked around her and immediately felt shock run through her body. Everything that surrounded her form, all seemed familiar to her eyes. She was back at Ichigo's place. "Why? What am I doing here? Wasn't I just outside...passed out after that hollow attacked me?" she asked herself, wanting to find the answers to the questions that were coming out of her mouth. She went to stand up, but immediately flinched, when she felt pain shoot through her body. "So...it was all an illusion, then?" As she asked this, her rosary began to glow. She glanced down at the rosary, questionably. "So it was you, Mikazuki?" she asked the glowing cross. "Anyway, I shouldn't be here. I have to leave." She opened the nearest window and wiggled through it, carefully landing on her feet.

She ran away from the clinic as fast as she could, but made sure to be careful, so she would not re-open her wounds. She didn't go back to her house. She couldn't go back to her house. Because they know she lived across the street from Ichigo. And if she fled there, they'd find her for sure.

Tired from running, Moka came to a stop to a bench, near the park. She breathed in and out heavily, her breath feeling a little shallow. She felt tired. Not only tired, but sweaty. She felt like she wasn't going to make it any further. "I won't stop here...I'm going to make it. I won't let the pain get to me..." With that said, she stood up from the bench and continued on running. As she ran a few miles or so, away from the previous place she was, she felt a speck of water hit her cheek. She glanced up at the sky and saw that it was about to rain. "I can't...stop here now. I have to...keep going..." Making her words promised, she continued walking, trying to stay strong as her feet carried along the soaked streets.

Moka didn't seem to care. She didn't seem to care that she was drenched and soaked by rain as she ran. She felt herself being brought down to one knee, due from strength being drawn from her body. But she was not about to let that stop her. She steadily stood up on two of her feet and kept walking, not having the strength to run anymore. A few moments later, she collapsed on her knees, holding her stomach. "I-It's okay... I can still...walk..." Not having the strength to stand anymore, she started to crawl. "Hang...in there...I'm not...dead yet... I won't...give up... I...won't..." she breathed out, with the kind of strength she had in her body.

"Moka!" shouted a familiar male voice, making her stop. Moka turned her head and felt her eyes go wide at what she saw. There stood Ichigo, along with Orihime, Rukia, Chad, Uryu, Renji and Rangiku, standing there with either shocked looks, or worried expressions on their faces. Not wanting to deal with them, she started back to what she was doing. "Moka, don't move." As she heard footsteps from behind her, she carefully and quickly stood up and went to run, only to have a hand grip her arm. "Where are you going?"

"Let go of me, Ichigo. Let me go. I have to go..." she said, quietly.

"And go where? And probably kill yourself?"

Moka looked at him in disbelief. "No. That's not it." she whispered.

"Then what is it, then?" he demanded.

Moka looked towards the soaked ground, her bangs shadowing over her eyes. "I was...just going back to my house... That's it..."

"Really, now? Because it's awfully strange that your house would be this far away, don't you think?" he told her, with a sarcastic remark. "Honestly, Moka. Where are you seriously going?" She stared towards the ground, not daring to look at Ichigo in the eye. "So that's it, isn't it? You're going somewhere to die..."

Moka kept her eyes hidden under her hair. "Yeah, that's right." she answered, making the others stare at her confused and shocked at the words that came out of her mouth. "Why are you so worried? It's not like you'll care if I die or not... Besides...you have your own friends to worry about, don't you?" she stated coldly.

"Moka..." Ichigo said, stunned at her reaction. "What are you..." he trailed off, unable to find the words he wanted to tell her. Did he just hear right? Did he actually just hear those words come straight out of her mouth? "What do you mean?"

She looked at him, a mountain of ice clouding her eyes. "I think you know what I mean, Ichigo." she told him. "You have everything that you ever wanted...and I got shit." Ichigo's eyes widen in surprise. Did he just hear her use that kind of language? That's not like her. "I had everything that I always wanted. Perfect friends...perfect fighting abilities...and everything." she said, looking away from him. "What's the point of living, if you've lost everything, you worked so hard for?"

"So what?" he said, making the girl stare at him, shocked. "What difference does it make, if you've lost everything?" she didn't say anything, but just stared at the ground. "You have friends, don't you?"

"What friends do I have?" she told him, not looking at him. "The friends I have are back in Loch Noches and they hate me now. I'm no longer consider to be one of the ranks, since I failed at completing my task."

"You have friends down here too." he said, taking her shoulders in his hands, forcing her to look at him. "We might not have hung out much, but to us, you're still our friend. And none of that is going to change that."

"Ichigo..." she whispered. "But I was sent here to kidnap your friend, and I didn't save you, or your friends. Should you show a little hatred for me? I'm your enemy, not your friend. Besides, you already know what my intentions are, since you read my diary." she said, a sadden look on her face. "I think you should, just eliminate me. I can tell-

"Wait a second, Moka." Rukia interjected, making the others turn to you. "We can't just kill you."

Moka looked at her, confused. "What do you mean, you can't kill me?"

"Well, you see. You're not the only one, who's been betrayed by the one, you thought you can trust. Aizen, if I'm right is the one, you thought you could trust. Correct?" Rukia asked. Moka nodded. "You're not the only victim of Aizen's betrayal. First, we have to find out what caused your injuries and then we'll let the Soul Society decide what to do with you."

All of them stared at Rukia in pure disbelief, except for Moka and surprisingly Rangiku. They didn't know whether to think that Rukia was giving her chance, despite the fact that Moka might be their enemy.

Short chapter. I know. But I'll try to make a much longer one, better than the one I just wrote.
