This is it – the final chapter of Enchanting.

Thank you to everyone who helped me to make it this far, particularly Loki Firefox and Tuuzmorado for their wonderful ideas.

Though there won't be an official sequel to this story, I'm planning on writing a oneshot series set in this universe, based around what happens when the Glee characters visit Andalasia. I highly doubt that I'll be able to post it until this summer at the earliest, though if inspiration strikes, then I might have something up a little earlier. And if anyone has any ideas for oneshots that they'd like to see, leave a review to let me know! Though I can't guarantee that absolutely every prompt will be included in the story, I'll try my best to include as many of your ideas as I can.

And finally, thank you so much for reading and reviewing.

Outside, the rescue workers were still trying to get Robert and Giselle down from the roof. Nobody was inside the building anymore, which was why Blaine had decided that this would be the perfect time to sneak back inside and retrieve the poisoned apple.

Sam went with him, of course, even though just the thought of getting close to that apple again made his skin crawl. But Blaine had said that they couldn't leave it in this world, and he was right, of course. It would be way too dangerous, and Sam didn't want anyone else to end up touching it on accident.

A couple of his friends had decided to sneak back inside with them, though Sam didn't exactly get why they'd want to. He'd figured that they'd all want to run home and get away from this place as soon as possible, like Rachel and Finn had done. But Brittany had insisted that she wanted to talk about the dragon attack on her next Fondue for Two (which she still aired, even though she had to go back to Ohio to do it, since Lord Tubbington wasn't allowed to live in her dorm). Which explained why Santana and Brittany had followed them. And it'd make sense that Edward would be sticking around, considering he was a prince and probably did this sort of thing all the time.

Sam wasn't too clear on why Kurt, Adam, and Shelby were still here, but he didn't ask. Based on the way they were acting, Sam guessed that it was either because they wanted to face their fears of this place or something, or because they were scared that another monster was going to attack and didn't want to get too far away from the guys who knew how to deal with those things. Either way, that seemed way too personal for Sam to bring up.

"There," Blaine said. He was kneeling on the top step of the staircase, wrapping the apple in one of the handkerchiefs that he'd brought from Andalasia. He finished with the wrapping and tucked the apple into his pocket, but instead of standing, he turned and sat on the step instead, smiling up at Sam. "Come here," he said, patting the spot next to him.

Sam smiled back and took the seat, trying to think of something to say. He didn't think that it should be this hard. Except, well, apparently they were each other's true love, and as awesome as that was, it was also a little weird. How do you start a conversation after finding out something like that?

Good news was, Sam didn't have to have the answer, because Blaine was the one who spoke first. "How is your hand?"

Sam grimaced, looking down at his palm, which was still blistered and burning. "Not bad," he said, which was mostly a lie. But at the same time, it didn't hurt as badly as it had earlier, so that meant that Sam was kind of telling the truth.

It still hurt like crazy, though, and he got the feeling that it was only going to get worse. It had started to go numb when the apple had made him sleepy, and after that, he'd had so much adrenaline that he'd barely even noticed the burn. Now, though it was really, really starting to sting.

Blaine must have heard the lie in his voice, though, because he frowned. Gently, he took Sam's wrist and turned Sam's hand so that he could see it. "It doesn't look as bad as it did earlier," he said after a moment. "I think that our kiss must have worked as an antidote to the poison, including the poison in your burn." Sam nodded, even though he wasn't entirely clear what that meant, but trusting that Blaine was probably right. After a second, Blaine continued, "Still, this doesn't look good. We should take you to get treated immediately."

Blaine started to jump to his feet right then, but Sam said, "Wait." Blaine stopped, and Sam shrugged and added, "Can we just sit here a moment?"

"Why?" Blaine asked, though he was already sitting back down next to Sam.

Sam thought about it, then shrugged again. "I guess I just kind of want another minute to realize that it's all real."

Before, everything had been so crazy that Sam hadn't gotten the chance to even think. Now, though, the ballroom was almost completely empty. Santana and Brittany were over examining some of the rubble, with Brittany practically bouncing as she explained something to Santana. Whatever it was, it included a lot of dramatic hand gestures. Clearly the dragon hadn't scared her much. Or, it had, but she'd gotten over it fast.

Kurt and Adam were sitting a little ways away, their arms around each other, talking in low voices. Edward was wandering around, looking bored and not really doing much, while Shelby was sitting on the ground, looking at one of the shoes that Giselle had left behind.

And next to Sam, Blaine was leaning forward, watching Sam with this intense look on his face, and it made Sam remember for about the billionth time every second that Blaine was in love with him. And he loved Blaine. And that they were destined marry each other.

As awesome as that was, it was also kind of a lot to suddenly find out about. To be honest, Sam felt like he'd be less nervous about facing another dragon than he was about talking to Blaine about all of this.

He cleared his throat, trying to figure out what exactly he was going to say, when he glanced at Edward now, who was wandering over closer to Shelby. "So," Sam said, "you found your true love, and Edward didn't. I thought that that wasn't how it's supposed to work in your world. Doesn't the older brother have to get married or something before the little bro is allowed to fall in love?"

"Well, yes," Blaine said, "but then again, in my world, Giselle would still be considered his true love. I feel like we're making our own rules."

"Huh," Sam said. "Isn't that kind of scary?"

Blaine opened his mouth to answer, then closed it again with a frown. "It is," he finally admitted. "But I think that it's the good kind of fear."

Sam didn't really know what to say to that, so he looked away again. Kurt had his arms wrapped around Adam's shoulders, with Adam's head tucked next to his neck, and the way that they were holding each other was way too intimate. Sam looked away from them quickly, feeling like he had already violated their privacy just by glancing over there.

Edward had wandered over to Shelby and was crouching beside her, saying something with a wide smile on his face. And Sam was tempted to keep watching to see what happened between them, but then he decided that this was stupid, and he wasn't going to sit here being afraid of talking to Blaine. This was Blaine, for crying out loud. And Sam might not have known him for that long, but he did know that they could talk to each other about this stuff. So he took a deep breath and turned to face Blaine. "What are we going to do about all this?"

"What are you talking about, specifically?" Blaine asked.

"I mean," Sam said, then paused a minute, trying to work out what exactly he was going to say. "I mean that you're totally awesome, and we already know that I'm in love with you, but I don't want to get married to you right now. It's like, on one hand, I love the idea of riding off into the sunset and doing all of that fairytale stuff, but I tried getting married to my girlfriend in high school, and that didn't really work out well. And I know that was different, since she wasn't my true love and you are, but-"

Blaine held up one hand, silencing Sam before he could keep ranting. "I understand," he said, then bit his lip and added, "Before I came to this world, I would have been quite disappointed to hear that. I imagined that once I found my true love, I would barely be able to wait a day before the two of us became one. But I'm beginning to see things differently."

"Oh." Sam relaxed slightly and smiled at Blaine. "Okay, good."

Blaine smiled back, and reached out to take Sam's unburned hand, intertwining their fingers and giving him a light squeeze. "Your friend Kurt and I had an interesting conversation," he said slowly. "Kurt said that true love isn't only about what you feel. You need to think about it as well, to make sure that this truly as right as you feel that it is."

Sam grinned. "Yeah, that sounds like something he would say." Kurt was smart like that.

"Well, we don't need to think about the fact that we belong together," Blaine said, and got this really happy, blissed-out look on his face as he said it, which made Sam feel super happy. Because even though he knew Blaine loved him, it was still nice to see the proof written across his face. Then Blaine took on a more serious look and added, "We will have to figure out how we are going to make this relationship work, however. We do still live in separate worlds."

Oh, yeah. There was that, too. "People make long distance work all the time," he offered weakly, but he didn't really like the idea. And judging from the way that Blaine frowned, he wasn't too fond of it, either.

But it was okay. They'd figure out a way.

"THE SHOE FITS!"

Sam and Blaine both spun around to look at Edward, who was laughing as he pulled Shelby to her feet and spun her around, looking completely ecstatic. Blaine and Sam both glanced at each other, then scrambled to their feet. Sam didn't exactly know what was going on, but he figured that he'd want to find out.

"What do you mean, Edward?" Blaine asked as they made it to the bottom of the steps and joined Edward and Shelby.

Edward set Shelby down, who was looking pretty dazed and confused, and turned to Blaine. "The abandoned shoe left on the ground – it's a perfect fit for this fine lady's foot. And of course you know what that means." He turned and smiled at Shelby, giving her the same adoring look that he'd sent to Giselle earlier.

Sam realized what Edward meant at the exact same time that Shelby did.

"You can't be serious," she said, pulling out of his grip. Edward blinked, looking puzzled, and she added, "Half an hour ago you thought that you were in love with some other woman."

"But I have seen the error of my ways," Edward insisted, stepping forward and taking her hand, holding it gently in his as he looked into her eyes. "Come to Andalasia with me."

For a moment, Shelby was silent. Then- "What?"

"Come with me," Edward insisted, drawing her closer.

"Are you crazy?" Shelby asked. "I can't just pack up and move to a fantasy land. I have a life, my business is going well… I have a child, for crying out loud, I can't just take her to live in some land of make believe."

"But it isn't make believe," Edward insisted. "It is as real as this world, and your daughter will love it there. She will be a real princess. That's every girl's dream, isn't it?"

For one long, weird, crazy second, Sam almost thought that Shelby was going to say yes. Then she pulled her hand away from him. "I'm sorry, but I'm not marrying a man that I just met," she said firmly, then turned and walked away before Edward could say anything more.

Edward cocked his head, looking like he didn't have the slightest idea what had just happened. Then he laughed. "She'll come around to the idea," he said to the group as a whole. Then he turned to Blaine. "I trust that you can care for Andalasia until I return?"

"I- What?" Blaine asked, looking just as confused as Edward had a moment ago.

Edward laughed again and shook his head condescendingly. "Oh, little brother, it's simple," he said. "With Mother gone, I will have to take over as ruler immediately, but there is no possible way that I would be able to return while my heart remains here. Until my love decides to come with me, I shall not return to Andalasia. Which is why I need to be able to trust that you will care for my kingdom in my absence."

"I- Of course," Blaine said, looking like he still hadn't quite gotten over his confusion.

"Excellent!" Edward exclaimed, throwing one arm around Blaine's shoulders. "Nathaniel will be there to back up your claim if anyone questions it," he said, apparently having forgotten that Nathaniel had been working for the evil queen earlier, or else he was just really trusting. Probably both. "Nobody should doubt you, though," Edward added. "You are of the royal blood, after all. And now, I am off!" He turned and ran off without another word, practically skipping with excitement. It was a little adorable, actually.

"So," Kurt said, from where he and Adam were still sitting a few feet away. "You're going back to your world, then." Kurt made a face at that, clearly not used to the idea that Blaine actually came from a different world.

"Yes," Blaine said. "What else would I have done?"

Kurt shrugged, but said, "I'd kind of figured that you were going to stay here with Sam, since you two are true loves and all."

Sam frowned for a moment. Honestly, he'd thought of that, too, and he liked the idea a lot. But he wasn't going to force Blaine into staying here when the options were between living with Sam in his crappy apartment and getting to be an actual king of a fairy-tale world. There was no question which one Blaine would want.

Instead, he just smiled. "We'll be okay," he told Kurt, "even if we have to live in different worlds."

Blaine was quiet for a minute, then turned toward Sam. "We don't have to," he said, and took Sam's good hand again. "Come with me."

Sam blinked. Now it was his turn to feel all confused. "You're imitating Edward now?" he asked. "I thought we decided against getting married right away."

"We did, and that's not what I'm asking," Blaine said. He looked Sam straight in the eye, a smile on his face. "We said before that we had to talk about this and make decisions, correct?" When Sam nodded, Blaine continued, "I believe that I have had another revelation. If we need to take the time to think about this, then there's no reason why we have to make the decisions tonight, is there?"

"I guess not," Sam said, not sure where exactly Blaine was going with this.

Blaine grinned, and practically vibrated with energy. "Then come with me," he said again. "You mentioned that you don't have classes for a few more days. Stay with me in Andalasia until then." He took a step forward. His face was intense, his eyes locked on Sam's, even though he also looked happier than Sam had ever seen him. "It doesn't have to be forever, and we have a long time to figure out how we want to create out happily-ever-after. For now, I just want us to stay together. The rest will come later."

Sam just stared at him for a moment, long enough that Blaine's excited face slipped away into something more nervous. "So, just to make sure I got this," Sam said, "you want me to come stay with you in Andalasia?"

"Just for the weekend," Blaine said quickly. "We have a beautiful palace with plenty of room, I assure you, and a royal healer who will be able to treat your hand." He bit his lip. "If you don't like the idea-"

Sam laughed. "Dude, that's awesome!" he said. "Of course I want to come with you!" Because who would turn down the chance to live with their true love in a palace in a world straight from a fairy tale?

But Blaine was right. Sam wasn't sure if he wanted to live there forever, not when he hadn't even seen the place yet. But this sounded like the perfect way to do it.

And Sam agreed with Blaine about one other thing, too. He didn't really want to be figuring out the future just yet. Right now, all he wanted was to stay with Blaine. The complicated decisions weren't important. Not yet, anyway.

Blaine body sagged with relief, and he smiled again, looking so sweet and happy and beautiful that Sam couldn't help grabbing him and kissing him again. He figured that it was only fair, since he'd been almost unconscious for most of their first kiss. And Blaine didn't seem like he was complaining as he wrapped his arms around Sam's waist and kissed him back.

In that moment, Sam felt like he had everything that he could ever want in the world. Blaine had said that they still had a lot to figure out, and he was right. Even so, Sam couldn't help but think that this was exactly how happily-ever-after should feel.
