Hey Guys! This is the second to last chapter. I'm actually a little sad. I have to admit when I first started this story, I didn't think that it would get so much feedback as it did. So I'll take the chance now to thank everyone that's reviewed, liked, or followed my story.

Chapter 15
Andrea POV
The night of the concert I was nothing but a big bundle of nerves in a 35$ dress from Burlington. If David was nervous, he didn't show it. Despite what Mereideth was doing, we were still going to sing in the concert. We had the plan all worked out.
''You'll be great.'' Julie said. Julie had submitted her poem two days ago. She hadn't let me read it which kinda bummed me out,
Everyone was coming. Mom, Dad, Gus, Aunt Bree, Janis, Claire, Julie. Hailey was probably the most reluctant one to come. She was missing some stupid sleepover at her friend Amy's house.
She's been bitching about it all day. I don't get what's so special. It's the millionth one she's been to.
It felt weird being in school at night. It kinda feels like you're doing something wrong, but your not. David and I went behind stage with all the other acts. Julie, Gus, Janis, and Claire snuck backstage with us. Gus was there to help put the plan .Julie, Claire, and Janis were here incase we needed to stall. According to them, they had a whole plan worked out.
We watched the acts go up one by one. The first was a boy named Lewis that had a dummy that ''talked''. The next act was nine girls from the choir singing ''Somewhere over the rainbow''. After that a group of boys dancing to ''Bad'' by Michael Jackson. Next was the strings and brass sections from the band doing the Hunger Games theme song. Then our plan went in to action.
Gus worked his magic. Quickly connecting the hidden camera to the huge monitor beside the stage. The one that zoomed in on the person that was performing.
Mereideth stood center stage in a shimmering sliver dress that was inappropriately short. Instead of hearing the music to my song a video of her, in her bedroom, talking with her friend Paige.
''I can't believe you did that.'' Paige said on the tape.
The Mereideth that's not on the tape whirled around and gawked at the monitor, then her eyes narrowed and glared at me, who was still behind stage.
Video Mereideth asked ,''Did what?''
''You know stealing David's phone and then black mailing Andrea.'' Video Paige answered.
There was a sharp intake of breath throughout the crowd. Gus kept playing the tape, though.
''Yeah. Andrea had a better voice than I thought she did.'' Video Mereideth said.
''Better than yours.'' Video Paige snickered.
''Paige!'' Both video and real life Mereideth said.
''What? It's true! Every time you go to do your scales, you sound like a dying cat. That's why your lip synching to Andrea's voice right?''
Bingo. I told Gus to stop the tape.
''Miss Hollister!'' The music teacher said. ''Is that true?''
Before Mereideth could answer , the music teacher grabbed her arm and dragged her off the stage.
''Ready David?'' I whispered.
''No.'' He said.
''What?'' I asked.
''I left the CD in the car!''
''You've got to be kidding!'' I cried.
''I'll get it!'' Gus said running out the backstage door.
I turned to Julie, Claire, and Janis.'' I hope you weren't kidding about having a backup plan.''
''Don't worry, we weren't.'' Janis said.
Claire opened the door and in came all the acts except for Mereideth. Aunt Bree was with them!
''Okay everyone!'' Julie said.'' This isn't a drill. This is the real deal. So get in your places!''
Everyone assembled behind the closed curtain. I was a little shocked when Julie grabbed a microphone.
''What are you doing?'' I asked.
''Stalling.'' Julie said walking out on the stage.
The curtain opened Aunt Bree started the piano intro.
''What song is that?'' I asked David.
''It sounds like ''Say a little prayer'' by Dionne Warwick, but I can't be sure .''
Julie started to sing .'' The moment I wake up.. Before I put on my makeup.''
''I say a little prayer for you.'' Janis, Claire, and the choir girls sang backup.
I was bowled over by how good Julie sounded. Everyone was great. The boys were dancing and singing backup with the girls. Lewis was making his puppet lip synch the lyrics. The band played along with Aunt Bree. The song went like this; (AN: The words in parenthesis a backup)
Oh Forever (forever) you'll stay in my heart
And I will love you
Forever (and ever) we never will part
Oh, how I'll love you
Together (together) that's how it must be
To live without you would only bring heartbreak for me
I run for the bus dear
And while riding I think of us dear
I say a little prayer for you
At work I just take time
And all through my coffee break time
I say a little prayer for you
By the second chorus everyone in the audience was clapping and singing along. God I wished Julie would win and not get in trouble.
My darling believe me (believe her)
For me there is no one but you
Please love me too (answer her prayer)
I'm in love with you (answer her prayer)
Answer my prayer (answer her prayer now)
''Sat you'll love me too.'' Julie sang hitting a high note on the word ''too'. While she held the note, the backup singers sang the chorus. Everyone was clapping to the beat.
When the song ended Julie got a standing ovation.
''Here's your stupid CD..'' Gus said tossing the CD to David.
''Hurry put it in!'' I said.
I'll save you the details of David and my act. It wasn't nearly as good as Julie's ''stalling'' act. When still got claps and cheers from the audience.
Since our act was the last one, awards were handed out right after we finished the song.
''I'd just like to say that all of you did a fabulous job tonight.'' The music teacher said. ''The awards will go out as following. Third place goes to all the act excluding, Julie Carson and Andrea Roberts and David Abbot. Second place goes to Andrea Roberts and David Abbot. And first place goes to Julie Carson.''
Everybody applauded. I was too happy for Julie to be the lease bit upset about not getting first place.
We left the school with Julie wearing a gold medal and David and me wearing silver ones.
''I can't believe you won!'' I said.
''It was nothing, really.'' Julie said blushing.
''So are you three thinking about going in to the music career?'' Mom asked.
''Not me.'' I said. ''I was thinking about being a veterinarian.''
''That's my girl!'' Dad said.
I beamed. You won't believe how long it's been since I heard that.
