Done To Death

A selection of one shots; each an Ian/Mickey cliché

Mickey Stops Ian From Getting On The Bus

:-:

Don't.

How pathetic was that? Way to go Mick – say what you really feel why don't you?

Fuck. Mickey punches the bedroom wall but it does little to appease him: his hand is already numb and bloody from previous attempts. The red liquid slips down between his fingers and it feels as though his life is literally draining from him onto the already stained dirty carpet.

He stares at it, lying there without him – Mandy's words dripping onto the carpet along with the red liquid seeping into the floor.

It is a split second decision and one Mickey will question later, but he picks his life back up and throws his pride down in its place.

To hell with this.

He is rushing out of the front door before he has really thought this through – Terry is asleep on the couch and Svetlana has a baby in her belly, and yet Mickey is running down the street without consideration for either of them.

Because he gets it now: his life is fucked, and the one thing in it worth living for is leaving the battles of South-Side Chicago for actual honest to God war. And he figures if Gallagher wants to fight anyway, why not fight for what they have?

Because Mickey has never given them anything to fight for, that's why.

No Milkovich gets accused of being a pussy, but Ian's legs are faster than his and Mickey is definitely more out of shape, and if Firecrotch turns that corner then Mickey will lose him.

"Don't leave!" He meant to shout 'stop' or 'wait', but the words his subconscious chose have done the trick for Ian is halting and turning and Mickey is all but barrelling into him.

It is a public street for fuck's sake and Mickey should really be pulling away from where Gallagher has hold of his arms, but he fears it will be the last time they touch and his skin burns with the contact.

Ian looks down into him and Mickey is suffocating.

"Don't make me say it again," Mickey practically begs. And he hopes that Ian understands – that he is asking him 'Don't leave me'. And when the light comes back into Gallagher's eyes he thinks the message has finally gotten through.

And he never has to turn around and go home ever again if he doesn't want to – because if Ian still wants to run then Mickey is running with him.

But for now he will settle for pulling Firecrotch into the nearest alley and dragging him down for a searing kiss; hoping it says everything he can't put into words.

And hoping, against all odds, that it is enough.
