Chapter 4: Caught Slipping, News Flash!

Keiko's POV

"Oww!"

I woke up face planting on the floor. 'Life just doesn't like me does it, even when I'm technically dead.' I picked myself up off the floor, trying to remember that tug that made me get up. It was like someone yanked on my hair really hard. 'Didn't that book spirit Ted say something about this?'

{FLASH BACK}

"Little guardian when you enter the Universe you're assigned to you'll feel a tug in your head sometimes depending on the situation. That tug on your head means that one of your charges needs you; rather it be a mental, emotional, or battle problem."

"Wait a sec... you're telling me that I have more than one charge other than the scouts?"

"You'll see when you go. Also in order for you know which of your charge is in trouble you have to close your eyes and say 'Byakko'. That will give you an image of the person in need. Then say Byakko no transport, it'll take you close to them, you can figure out the rest by sensing their Ki."

I sweat dropped and deadpanned at him. "So basically I'm a counselor /guardian angel/warrior for a bunch of anime superheroes is what you're trying to say?"

Ted nodded."Correct, but is that all you got from that?"

"Ummm...what happens if I say yes?" I asked sweat dropping more.

"BAKA GUARDIAN! PAY CLOSER ATTENTION THIS IS IMPORTANT!"

"Calm down! (try's to get the ringing out of her ears) Jeez, didn't know a book can yell that loud."

{END OF FLASH BACK}

I rubbed the back of my head sheepishly, sweat dropping at the memory. "Okay so that's what he meant by a tug...well let's try that. Byakko! (image of Serena flashes) wow she can't catch a break. Hold on Serena I gotcha! Byakko no transport."

I disappeared in a flash of gold and blue .

Only to reappear in the air, upside down on top of the fucking crown, and land head first.

My right eye started to twitch, "Why can't I land on my feet like normal people or maybe a cat? But no~, I always hit my head or some other crazy shit."

I stood up and looked over the edge. I spotted Darien's car so that means they're inside. Quickly using that clothing technique I learned, I change into some black cargo shorts, a blue V-neck T-shirt, and a pair of black ninja shoes. I jumped down into the alley next to the shop and went inside the crown.

The first thing I see when I walk inside the crown is Serena, just standing there looking like she couldn't decide rather to explode, cry, or run out. I didn't see Andrew at the counter or any of the other scouts there, and I couldn't see what she was looking at. She didn't even notice me come in. I know she probably look to see who it was when the bell above the door rung so she must really be out of it. I slowly walked over to her, I looked over her shoulder to see what put her in the conflicting state she's in.

I got mad quick as hell when I did.

Darien was making out with a girl, actually he still is. He didn't even notice that his supposed girlfriend was standing in front of him. 'That arrogant son of a bitch! Now I don't like cheating, but If you're gonna cheat at least be discreet with it. Dude, you're just asking for a beat down. You already know the girls come here every day. Hell even I know that, and I didn't watch a lot of this series. You fucking live here!

You know what...

I know a perfect way to introduce myself to you and get Serena out of her frozen state at the same time. Besides I didn't even like you that much in the show.'

I walked pass Serena and started ranting, "HEY PUNK ASS, BITCH ASS DARIEN! YOU JUST MADE AN HUGE MISTAKE! YOU'RE ABOUT TO GET YOUR ASS KICKED!"

My yelling got Serena out of her I'm stuck I don't- know –what- to- do-BECAUSE- I'm-SO- pissed state. It also managed to distract Darien long enough from sucking faces with Ms. Kissy Face for him to realise the situation he's in.

His eyes got big when he saw Serena. Then became a little frightened when he saw me standing next to her glaring and emitting waves of heavy killing intent directed towards him.

The girl just blinked and frowned slightly. Flipping a piece of her orange hair out of the way."Who are they Dare-kun, and why do you look like a ghost?"

Seeing that Serena wasn't ready speak, I decided to do the honors. I scowled at Darien, before answering." Hello Ms. Kissy Face my name is Keiko. Darien looks like that because he just got caught cheating. Oh! And don't forget that I'm very close to beatin' his ass. As for who we are, I'm her friend..." I pointed to Serena ,"...and she's his girlfriend( points to Darien). Though I think that after seeing you two sucking faces, she's about to make him her Ex." I finished crossing my arms.

The girl,that I've named 'Ms. Kissy face', got mad and sprung from her seat after slapping him and ran out yelling don't ever call me again.

I sweat dropped as she ran out of here like a kid trying to catch the ice cream truck. 'Well at least we know she didn't know he had a girlfriend and that takes care of a problem.'

I snapped out of it when seeing Serena punch Darien in the nose hard; knocking him to the ground with a major nose bleed.

"We're over and don't think I'm going to ever come back to you, especially after this!" Serena whispered harshly with her fists clenched, but I could hear her perfectly.'Hehehe, there you go Serena. I guess our talk helped you out huh? I didn't really have to do much of anything to help.'

She turned her back on him, over to me and tugged on my arm trying to get me to leave,"Come on Cali it's time for us to go." I didn't move a muscle.

An innocent sweet smile appeared on my face.

Much too sweet.

"Hold on a sec I wanna try something out." I walked over to where Darien was laying down on the floor and pointed at him with one hand covering my mouth.

"DAAAAMMMNNN! YOU JUST GOT KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT! Did that hurt? Oh wait yo ass is on the ground, so of course it did. Tsk, tsk,tsk maybe you should-be a loyal boyfriend, and not a jerk. Now you've got no girl and a broken nose. Oh well." I kicked him making him groan i pain, then grabbed Serena and hightailed it out of there before Andrew snapped out of his frozen state. I laughed in excitement, "I've always wanted to do that!"

We finally stopped in front of a shrine. I looked at Serena to see if she was okay. She still looked pissed but she looks like a lot of weight has been lifted off her shoulders.

I grinned at her, " Hey! I told you you'd see me again in the daytime. Do you feel better now?"

A small smile appeared on her face,"Yeah, thanks for having my back Cali–Chan, but how did you know that was where I was there?"

I sweat dropped, "Umm..." 'Should I just say that I'm her guardian angel now, or do I wait to say it to all the scouts? Damn it then I got to deal with all the questions. Fuck it I'll just say it. I'd have to go through at some point, might as well get it over with. '

A loud irritated voice interrupted me before I got a chance to. "Hey meatball head you're here early for the meeting that's a first, and who's the girl with you. She's got a tail did she eat a devil fruit?"

I looked at my tail and I could feel more sweat drops on the back of my head. 'Aww, what the hell? I don't even have a choice. And did she just say devil fruit?'

Serena took a deep breath and sighed. Then started making her way up the stairs,"Raye don't be rude, and she's my friend and my guardian of sorts."

Face palming, I walked gloomily up to my doom-oops I ment up the stairs. I could've sworn that you could see a rain cloud over my head. 'She just had to say the guardian part. Why did I even tell that I'm some sort of guardian in the first place? I would've been able to avoid this for a bit longer. Now I'm going to have to answer a shit load of questions. Life just loves to laugh at me doesn't it.'

I waved Raye off when she started to open her mouth. "I'll explain it to you all inside the shrine. I'd like to say this only once."
