Chapter Twenty: Stalls & Stables

At Collins Horse Farm's Horse Stable:

When the six of them exit the building of Collins Horse Farm, the saw two gentlemen in horseback riding uniform talking to the receptionist – Mia, and the three of them were standing by the stable. Not long later, Mia noticed of their presence so she quickly led the two gentlemen towards them to greet them

"Hi guys!" Mia greeted before turning around to face the two gentlemen, "There are our new students that will be taking a ninety minute horseback section that I just told you guys a minute ago."

They two of them nodded their heads in reply.

"Don't worry guys! I've left you guys in good hands! After your section, you guys can take a shower at the changing room before you guys leave. See you guys after your session!" Mia said before returning into the building of Collins Horse Farm.

"Good morning, gentlemen! I'm Antonio and this is Jeff. We will be your instructors for your section." A tall and thin brunette man in red polo t-shirt and black full seat breech stepped forwards to greet them.

"Do you guys have any experience in Horseback riding?" Next to Antonio was a blonde husky man, who was a little taller than Antonio, in black polo t-shirt and white full seat breech.

"No, none of us have any experience in horseback riding." Austin replied for the all of them.

"I see. In that case, we shall choose your horse first and we will carry on further from there. Please follow me into the stable." Jeff said before leading them into the stable next to them.

Inside the stable, there are horses, all in their own individual stalls, on either side of the stable. As they walked, they noticed that there was a horse handler in one of the horse stalls feeding a horse, one was in another stall grooming a horse and one was in an empty stable cleaning up all the horse's left behind. Since this was their first time in a horse stable, they were all amazed by practically everything they saw, from feeding a horse to cleaning a stable; all of it looked interesting and new to them.

"Since you guys are new to horseback riding, we will help you guys choose a horse that's easier to control and of a slightly less chance of getting spooked. As a spooked horse will be something a beginner should try to avoid." Jeff explained as he led the guys deeper into the stable.

"Jeff is right. Usually for beginners, Arabians and American Quarter Horse will be a better choice. As these horses are more intelligent and quick learners and they are among the most mild-mannered mounts. They work well on the ranch because they are not easily spooked by wayward calves or stampeding herds, which means they make surefooted mounts for beginners." Antonio added.

After walking for another minute, they arrived at the end of the stable, mostly with Arabians and American Quarter Horses.

"Here are our Arabians and American Quarter Horses!" Antonio announced.

"Cool! Let's pick us some horse!" Austin said enthusiastically.

Before they even moved towards the horse, Antonio quickly added, "Since you guys are beginners at horseback riding, so instead of choosing your horse, we will let the horse choose you."

Logan stunned and asked nervously, "Let the horse choose us? What do you mean by horse choose us?"

Antonio and Jeff chuckled when they saw Austin, Ty, Mark, Dez and Deuce all gotten tense too, and all six of them were now staring at the two of them as though they were big foot.

"Relax, we're not asking you to do anything dangerous. Antonio meant that we will bring these horses out for some fresh air. You guys will slowly move towards them. When they lower their head to let you pat them that means you've gotten your horse for the day." Jeff explained.

"Oh. I see." Logan replied, as the rest took a relived sign.

Slowly, Antonio and Jeff led the horse out of the stable to an empty horse corral to let the horse move around on the grass. After Antonio and Jeff let all of the Arabians and American Quarter Horses, with a few of the other breeds into the corral, they asked Ty to enter the corral first to guide him on how to interact with the horses as an example to show the others what to do later.

Ty was the first one to be in the corral, one by one, the horses start to move towards him. The moment the horses bend down to take a sniff on Ty, Ty immediate froze and stiffen as he does not know what to do. Slowly the horses come and go but a chestnut American Quarter Horse with brown mane stayed with Ty and after sniffing Ty for a while more; she bends her head towards Ty. A wide grin started to appear on Ty as he carefully raised an arm to pat the beauty in front of them.

"Great choice, Ty! This horse is named Abby. She would be perfect for you. Now Antonio will help you put on a saddle and bridle on Abby to help you control her later." Jeff praised as Antonio walked towards Ty to place a brown saddle and bridle on Abby.

"Ok! Ty, now you can gently guide your horse out of the corral and towards the riding arena first. Remember do not yank or force your horse to follow you, just pull the bridle gently to let her know that you want her to follow you. I will bring you there so we can give you some time to bond with your horse." Antonio said.

"Deuce? Dez? You two have seen how a horse picked Ty right? Why don't you two enter the corral together to find your horse?" Jeff said after Antonio and Ty left the corral.

Dez and Deuce nodded and exchanged looks before entering the corral. Same thing happened to Dez and Deuce as to Ty before; horses come and go after a sniff of them. Dez gave a gentle pat to every horse as they passed him as Deuce, still terrified by the size of the horses, stood frozen.

"Deuce! You don't have to be so tense around them. They could sense your fear and this may make them tensed too. Relax! They are just trying to get to know you." Jeff comforted Deuce, in hopes of helping him loosen up.

Deuce nodded his head, took a deep breath and slowly relaxes himself. Beside him, a dark chestnut American Quarter Horses with black mane started to bend his head towards Dez and Dez quickly hugged him. The horse let out a small scream but did not reject or backed away from Dez's friendly hug.

"Dez, be gentle to Gatsby, we do not want to spook him. Guys, remember try to slow down your actions when you're around your horse, ok?" Jeff advised as he moved towards Dez with a black saddle and bridle on Gatsby.

Behind him, a brown Arabian stood beside Deuce and the horse slowly bends his head to look into Deuce's eyes. Deuce carefully raised his arm and the horse slowly tucked his head under Deuce's palm to let Deuce touch him. Deuce chuckled as he patted the horse with a wide grin on his horse.

"Nice one! Deuce, this is Rio. He's a very gentle Arabian. I'm sure you two will have a great time together later." Jeff said.

"Whoa! Deuce and Dez is done already? You two sure are fast in picking your horse. Come, follow me and remember to be gentle to your horse when you're leading it." Antonia said, impressed as he returned to the corral.

After Antonio helped Deuce and Dez get their horse out of the collar, Jeff asked, "Ok! Can the three of you manage in the collar? Or you guys want to split up?"

Logan, Austin and Mark exchanged looks for a minute and said, "We'll go in together."

Jeff nodded and opened the gate to let the three of them enter the coral.

The three of them slowly walked towards the horse. Most of the horse moved away when they saw the three of them moving towards the herd. But one of the black Arabian with black mane stayed put as Mark approached it. It even licked Mark's hand when he tried to pat the horse. Mark chuckled as the horse licked his right hand while patting the horse with his left hand.

"West is indeed a wonderful choice. Mark, good job!" Jeff picked up another black saddle and bridle and entered the coral to put it onto West.

Austin moved slowly to the herd again and this time, the horses moved towards him too. Among the horses, one blonde Tennessee Walking Horse with light chestnut mane started to sniff around Austin. When Austin tried to pat him, the horse backed a few steps away. Austin stunned for a little before moving towards the horse again, and this time, the horse did not back away. As Austin moved towards the horse, it slowly bend his head towards Austin to let Austin patted his head.

"Whoa! We only let in a few Tennessee Walking Horse to see how it worked out. And now, Austin you've bonded with Ace. He is one of our best horses in the stable." Jeff praised.

After Jeff put a brown saddle and bridle on Ace, he turned to see how Logan's doing. Seems like Logan was having a hard time trying to find his horse as most of the horses sniffed Logan for a few seconds and moved away. After a few minutes, one black Arabian sniffed Logan for a few seconds and just as Logan thought he's gotten his horse, the horse backed away too. Logan let out a disappointed sign and turned around. Behind him was a white Tennessee Walking Horse with blonde mane looking at him with its head tilted to the right. Logan chuckled and moved towards it. She let out a happy cry before letting Logan patted her head. Logan chuckled as she cuddled towards him.

"Look at that! Moonlight seems to like you! Moonlight was my favorite horse when I first came to Collins Horse Farm and now she's bonding with you! Nice one, Logan!" Antonio gasped when he returned to the corral.

"Mine too!" Jeff added as he passed a brown saddle and bridle to Antonio.

"Looks like you guys have all gotten your horse! Shall we move out of her and towards the arena for some horseback riding?" Jeff asked after Antonio secured the saddle on Moonlight.

Together, Antonio and Jeff guided Austin, Mark, Logan and their horse to the arena for some horseback riding.

At 'A Super Cute Boutique':

Before the shop even opens at 10am, there was already a long queue in front of the boutique as this boutique was one of the famous shops that Miami girls love to visit, not to mention that they are having their annual Summer Sale today. The moment the shop open, people try to squeeze into the shop but the security guards by the barrier rope have restricted the entering of customers so that the shop will not have more than 250 customers in the shop, ensuring their level of customer service maintains.

"For the love of goats, there is no way we can make it into the shop!" Tinka gasped at the sight of the boutique.

"May be we should come by another day? I don't even think we can make it in before lunch." Dina suggested.

"I agree with Dina." Rocky added.

"Girls, we are here to shop! We cannot let something like a long queue stop us!" Cece objected.

"Girls!" Trish suddenly shouted behind them.

The girls turned around to where Ally and Trish standing, all with a puzzled face.

Ally giggled when she saw their facial expression.

"Relax! I am Trish de la Rosa. I never go shopping unprepared." Trish raised her hand with a couple of VIP lanyards and continued, "We are going in to the boutique, VIP style!"

The four of them started to squeak the moment Trish finish her sentence, even Ally and Trish joined in.

After a minute, they finally gotten a hold themselves and took a deep breath.

"Ladies! Shall we go?" Ally asked with the accent and tone of an Upper East Side lady.

"We shall!" They replied, too with the accent and tone of an Upper East Side lady.

Together, they ran towards the boutique. The group of sprinting girls almost scared the hell out of the security guards by the barrier ropes but the experience of being a security guide at the local famous boutique have already helped them see how females can be like when it comes to shopping. So when they saw the VIP passes on their neck, the security guards did not hesitate to let them in, leaving a hundred pairs of envy eyes behind, looking at them enter the boutique.
