Edward Cullen

The smile that graces his face is undeniable, and so is the reason he's wearing it. He's a Hollywood heartthrob, yet he's completely at ease as he sits on the sofa in the luscious oasis he calls a backyard. From here, you'd never know you were in the middle of Los Angeles. It's a beautiful, sunny day and the twenty-seven year old actor look like Adonis himself wearing dark, designer jeans, a soft gray-t-shirt, and a million dollar smile. As a matter of fact, he looks right at home – and he is.

People: It's been quite a year for you – quite a few changes have been made.

EC: Absolutely. Things felt like a roller coaster there for a while, but I'm on solid ground now. I'm happy, and I have a lot to be thankful for.

P: You do seem more settled than the last time we talked. Is there a reason for that?

EC: There's a reason for everything.

He flashes his smile once again. A couple months ago, photos of Edward with a mysterious brunette dancing in his arms surfaced and ever since, fans and media alike have been questioning who the beautiful young woman is. It was the first time in months since Edward had been seen with a woman since his highly publicized break up with actress Lauren Welch.

P: What can you tell us about the picture of you dancing with a lovely brunette in Morocco?

EC: That picture was taken at the Medina. We'd been enjoying our afternoon shopping and we had just stopped for lunch. We heard the music and couldn't help ourselves.

P: Can you tell us who she is?

EC: She's everything.

Sorry ladies – if you were hoping that Edward Cullen was single, any hope of that was quashed as soon as I asked the question. Edward Cullen is in love and it's not with his job or his fans. Now that's not to say that he doesn't love them too, but there is someone in his life who is infinitely more important.

P: Everything?

EC: Absolutely. She's my girlfriend – my best friend. Her name is Bella and she came to Morocco to celebrate my birthday with me.

P: How long have you two been dating?

EC: Several months but we've known each other longer than that.

P: How did the two of you meet?

EC: We met through my agency.

P: What does she do? Is she an actress?

Edward laughed heartily and shook his head, explaining that the woman who captured his heart, was a professional Chef and caught the attention of his stomach first.

EC: You know what they say, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach.

We joked for a bit before Edward explained how proud he was of his girlfriend – she was starting a new venture with a friend of his who was opening a club for up and coming music artists. Bella would be the head chef.

P: We've heard that Bella isn't the only one to capture your heart. Can you tell us a little bit about that?

EC: I can tell you very little. Bella has a little boy and the two of them are my world, and I'd do anything to protect them. We are very close – he's like a son to me and I treat him as such.

P: How does your career affect your relationship since it's obviously very different from the one you had previously?

EC: I'm more conscious now. I know that it's not just me anymore – I have two people in my life whom I love and want to take care of – that's not saying that they can't take care of themselves, it's something I feel like I need to do. Thankfully we haven't had any huge problems meshing our schedules. We have an equal give and take relationship, and so far it's working well for us.

P: You have several upcoming projects and you're very involved with your music. Your fans are hoping for an album. Is that something that's in the works?

EC: I have a lot on my plate right now work wise. I love music, but right now, it's not in the cards for me. It might be a disappointment to my fans, but music is something that I do only for me, and I'm not ready to share that part of me with the world. I'm happy to be working and doing films that I'm extremely proud of, and I have a few coming out that I'm excited to share with everyone.

Edward took a few moments to give me an overview of the projects he has been working on as well as what he had coming up and Bella tentatively steps out onto the patio. As soon as Edward saw her, his smile widened again and he beckoned her toward us. Up close and personal, I got a first-hand look at the lovely young woman who has stolen the heart of the illustrious Edward Cullen.

Long mahogany hair framed her porcelain face. She's petite and appeared fragile as Cullen tucks her comfortably against his side. Bella was all wide hazel eyes framed in long lashes as she shyly looked up at me. Edward whispered something to her softly and she nodded, returning her focus to me. Quiet introductions were made and Edward made sure that I didn't mind her joining us for the remainder of our meeting.

I questioned Edward about the film he wrapped and the one that he is set to begin filming in a week's time.

P: Can you tell me what this project is about?

EC: I can tell you that it's a Penny Marshall-esque romantic-comedy. The script is fantastic – it's sharp, witty and well written. I'm looking forward to taking on this role very much.

P: I'm sure your fans are eager for you to take it on as well. It seems as though they've wanted you to do a romantic comedy for years.

Edward laughs.

EC: Yes, I suppose they have.

P: You are going to be starring opposite actress Kate Beckinsale. Have you worked with her before?

EC: I've met Kate a couple times and she's a fantastic actress. I've never worked with her professionally, but I'm looking forward to working on this project with her.

For a guy who has the opportunity to live the high life of a Hollywood celebrity, Edward Cullen has his feet firmly planted on the ground. With a beautiful family surrounding him, he's got the biggest fan club he'll ever need. - AW
