Loki propped his head up with his arm, it's been three nights since Evalith fell into unconsciousness after the events at Vanaheim and Loki hadn't left her side. The deep, bruised bags under his emerald eyes fell across just above the middle of his nose bridge. The creases broke his pale lips. He hadn't moved, he hadn't eaten or slept. Day by day he watched Evalith grow weak, her face turned gaunt and the blood had flood across her neck, along the sides of her face and above her eyes. It even started to cover her shoulders, venturing down the length of her arms. But the blood that discoloured her was dark, cloudy and deep ebony. Hearing a tap on the door, Loki glanced up seeing his brother stepping through the doorway, Mjlonir in hand. He didn't bother to stand as his brother approached the other side of Evalith. But as Thor leaned in closer to examine his younger sister's face, Loki snapped up, crossing to the other side forcefully placing a hand on Thor's arm before sighing. Realising his hasty mistake he apologised, "I-I'm sorry. She hasn't- she won't wake up. Thor, I hate to admit it, especially to you of all people, but I am…afraid." Thor watched as Loki spoke, he could see the pain in his eyes and the sleepiness in his voice. "Our sister is strong, she will wake soon." The God of Thunder, unfortunately, had his doubts.
Evalith swayed in the nothingness, she could hear the voices surrounding the empty spaces of her mind. "Loki! Thor! Get me out of here!" She screamed but the silence was deafening. "Loki help me! Thor, someone answer me!" Pushing her way through the bare systems of her mind, the Aether kept pulling her pack. "Get away from me! Get away!" Evalith extended her arm expanding her energy forcing the Aether back. Turning back she screamed for her brothers. Please answer me. Aether brushed forward ahead of Evalith before rushing back, engrossing her, "No please, get away. Leave me alone!" The Aether didn't give up, with ease it consumed her, and slowly Evalith's frantic screams dimmed, into utter silence.
Her eyes broke open, her forced scream jolted Loki and Thor from the entrance of the room. "Evalith!" Thor ran in the doorway, Loki ran close behind. Evalith floated in mid-air, energy curved across her body. Before he could get close enough Thor stopped, holding Loki back, "Loki stop, that's not Evalith." Loki looked at his brother, confused, "What are you talking about I have to help her, she right there Thor!" The pain in the God's voice was apparent. "That's the Aether Loki! She used the Aether to destroy Malekith, it seems to have lurched itself on her." Loki pushed away from Thor's arm, low breaths escaping his lips. It took every inch of self-control to back away from Evalith. "What do we do?" Loki stood back next to Thor, "We find a way to destroy it, without bringing any harm to Evalith." Loki watched the crimson energy envelope Evalith, his anger breaking down his calm presence. I will take back what's mine. I will destroy the Aether.
