"I'm going to kill it! I'm going to destroy the Aether sending it straight to Hel." Loki furiously ran his hands through his hair pacing back and forth in front of the door. Volstagg and Thor turned around the corner coming from the Allfather's room, "Loki the same energy that swarms around Evalith is now visibly encasing Odin." Lifting his eyes Loki pondered the thought for a moment, "It must be the Aether keeping Odin from awakening". Thor nodded in agreement, "It is certainly plausible, there is no way that Evalith is causing this willingly, it has to be the Aether controlling her. Malekith was a weak host to the energy after all." Loki looked back into the room where Evalith laid on the table. Fandral and Lady Sif came from the courtyard, "Thor what do we do?" Fandral stepped forward to Thor, who leaned on the wall, "Go and fetch Old Nurse to apply some fresh bandages for her wounds, she seems to be stable now." Fandral bowed and went to find the nurse. But Loki sighed, "She's not stable Thor and that is the problem. We have no idea what to do, how to help or when she'll wake up next." Despite the situation, Loki tried to remain calm and rational, he had to be, and he felt as though he had the most to lose.

Old Nurse hushed into the room where the princess lay still, holding a silver tray with new bandages and fresh healing essence from the Asgardian healers place. The brothers stood on the other side while Old Nurse began to remove the old dressings. "So what do you propose we do?" Loki looked up and down at his older brother. Thor squeezed his eyes shut and opened them again, he was exhausted, "Evalith won't wake up and neither will the Allfather. When Jane was infected with Aether by the minute she was visibly getting weaker and frail. Evalith seems to be remaining the same physically, apart from the markings on her body. At this moment I truly do not know what to do." Loki gazed at the floor, the entirety of his being felt completely useless. Too many times he had broken their promise and too many times he had almost lost her. Both brothers were lost in silent thoughts before Old Nurse gasped as the brothers snapped their heads up in unison, Evalith raised her body up, swinging her legs around to the side of the table. Loki rushed forward, his hands stretched outward out to grab her, Evalith shifted her head and he smashed into the corner of the wall. Thor sprinted around taking Old Nurse away from the scene. "What happened?!" Thor held the old woman's shoulders as she shivered, frightened. "Thor Odinson, I was changing her dressings when the blood began to rush to her hands!" Thor yelled for Volstagg to take the woman away from the area. More loud crashes came from the room and Thor ran back inside, seeing Evalith lift Loki from his feet, sending him crashing into the ceiling before hitting the ground. Thor summoned Mjlonir and directed thunder crackling to Evalith. But a mere sway of her hand and Thor was taken aback abruptly through the stone railing outside.

Evalith's feet made contact with the rough stone floor, comforting shivers crawling up her spine. The cracks in her face pulsated crimson as clouded black blood patched across her chest and down her arms. Exiting the room she lifted herself into the air, drifting to the centre of the palace. Sif and Fandral came sprinting from the courtyard upon hearing the noise when they spotted Thor clumsily getting up from the broken stone. Sif kneeled beside him, "Thor! Is it Evalith? What's happened?" Loki limped across to them, coughing from the dust. Thor stood with Mjlonir in hand, "That's not Evalith. The Aether is using her as a host. It's the reason Odin has not been able to awake from the Odinsleep." Thor wiped the dust from the hammer when Fandral surprisingly walked over to an injured Loki, "You know more about Evalith's power than we do, and so what do we do?" Loki looked up confused at the poised man and his moustache, then over to Thor and Sif. And for the first time, Loki wasn't thinking of himself anymore.
