The Allfather had almost killed Loki when they returned to Asgard, were it not for Thor intervening. He had never seen his father so angry before in his life. He had lost his only daughter for the second time, and although he would not admit it, it was taking a toll on the king's heart. Without a lot of convincing, Odin reluctantly placed Loki into Thor's custody. His voice was filled with sorrow as he spoke to the two men in the great hall. "I saved you from certain death in Jotunheim called you my son. Frigga loved you like a son. Apparently Evalith loved you in a closer manner and that is the only reason why you are alive. I will not have more bloodshed." Odin's words were soft. He presented the demeanour of a deeply hurt man. Asgard had taken an immense amount of damage because of Evalith, buildings were flattened, fires were still burning and hundreds and hundreds of Asgardian citizens had died. It was worse in Midgard, people were in hysteria because of the sudden "natural disasters". Millions of people died, and millions more were left stranded and homeless. Evalith had almost annihilated the realm.

Loki sat in the room with Evalith since he and Thor returned to Asgard with Evalith. He kept replaying the scene in his head. He killed her with the knife Heimdallr had given him, he said it was an ancient Niflheim artefact said to absorb any power or energy it came into contact with and holding it. Thor stood on the balcony, the two wide oak doors opening up the room behind him. He watched his brother carefully for a few days, worried to leave him alone for a second. Thor watched Loki sit in the room, not moving, eating or sleeping. The man was completely detached from reality. Evalith's lifeless body lay on the bed she and Loki used to share. Her hands were clasped across her chest and her hair was brushed neatly on either side.

"I don't want anyone in here." Loki looked up at his brother who was watching Old Nurse clean Evalith's face.

"Please, brother, just let her do what is necessary." Thor was exhausted but Loki nodded with him and sat back down in the balcony.

Old Nurse held back the tears as she cleaned the Goddesses' face, she gently wiped the damp cloth across her forehead. She dipped the cloth into a bowl of warm water, ringing out the excess she turned around and could sense something. She hovered her hands searching for something when she suddenly felt subtle heart beats pulsing up and through her hands. "She's alive?" Through her confusion she hovered her hands over Evalith when she stopped and a shiver crawled down the woman's spine.

"Thor Odinson, there is something you may want to see." Old Nurse calmly ushered the two men over inside the room. Both exchanged a confused glance and followed the woman.

"What is it Old Nurse?" Thor creased his eyes trying to understand what the woman was going on about. The nurse took Thor's hand and placed it on Evalith's chest, and he could feel the heart beats. He could hardly contained his shock.

"Loki! She's still alive!" Thor blinked back the tears of joy as his brother merely stood still. Loki couldn't process what he just heard, slowly he took a few steps forward to the bed. Carefully sitting next to her, Old Nurse placed his hand on Evalith's chest just as she did with Thor's a moment earlier. And Loki could feel the beats through his hand and he couldn't figure out what he was feeling. It was all too overwhelming and he couldn't comprehend what was going on. He could not believe it, and he didn't know what to think.

"Sire, there is one other thing you should know." Old Nurse looked at both Loki and Thor and they couldn't interpret the look on her face.

"What is it Old Nurse?"

"Evalith, she… she is with child."
