When Loki told Odin about his circumstances with Evalith, Loki didn't want to admit he was a little frightened at his reaction.
"I am too old for this."
That is all the Allfather had said on the matter as Thor stood there dumbfounded. It had been a few months since Evalith nearly destroyed two realms. During those months she had regained most of her strength, and her belly had grown large. Also during that time was when Loki had to tell Odin about the pregnancy, about the near annihilation of a realm, the fact he was sleeping with his daughter but technically it was okay because they weren't exactly related, etc etc.
During the time, Loki couldn't help but feel that something was strange and looked at his sister like she was an anomaly. She changed so many things about him, and now she was giving him a child. Never in his lifetime had he thought he would be as lucky as to have a child with the woman he loved most dear. Although he received looks from those who passed him in the halls, Thor reiterated his support when he could.
"I feel so silly, I can barely walk properly!" Evalith squeezed Loki's hand as she tried to maintain some balance. She couldn't believe what she had done a few month ago. She remembered trying to force the Aether out of her body, out of her mind. After it consumed her, all she felt was the darkness pushing against her. She wasn't aware of her actions, all the destruction and death she caused. Deep inside she could still feel darkness within her, but she also felt complete control over it, so she never spoke of it. Evalith had to focus on this baby, she and Loki's baby. She blushed every time she thought back to that night, but only she could feel the flutters in her heart when she thought about it. Loki was very, romantic so to say.
"You're doing fine my love, just keep holding my hand and take a seat here." Loki supported her back as he helped her sit down. He didn't tell her about what happened back on Midgard, that is to say he didn't tell her how he and Thor managed to stop her from destroying everything. He figured it was something she didn't need to burden. So he and Thor agreed not to tell her.
Evalith heard a knock on the door and tried to turn to see who it was, instead her bumping her belly on the table. Loki couldn't help but laugh and she glared at him.
"Sorry! But you have to admit, it's wonderful that you're relying on me more." Loki put up his hands as he walked over to the door. Thor smiled as Loki moved to let him in.
"Evalith! How are you feeling this fine day?" Thor walked over to his sister and sat on the chair opposite. He admitted to himself and Loki that he would never be entirely used to their relationship, but would continue to support it as long as Evalith was alright. But he had to thank Loki, he was the one who was brave enough to stop their sister when she wasn't in control.
"I'm doing well Thor. But this child needs to hurry and meet the world. I can barely walk by myself!" Evalith laughed as she shared the moment with her brother and Loki. For the first time, in a long time, she felt as though she was meant to be here. Because to avoid death twice, she thought it had to mean something was keeping her here. And that's all she needed to believe for now.
Okay! So this is it for Evalith for now, but I'm currently working on something even bigger that includes a vast variety of characters from across the Marvel Universe. This was my first fanfic I've ever written and all this positive feedback is the reason I kept going. Evalith isn't gone, but she will be back! Thank you so much for all your support!
