Hello reader!

I guess you could say that this is an afterthought to the Summaries chapter because I thought of some other things to add to it. And I'm too lazy to try and edit the original document…so a new chapter it is.

Things I Forgot to Mention/ Expand Upon… Or Summaries- Part 2

To kick off this off, let's talk about my favorite love/ hate story genre on fanfiction…romance.

There have been summaries that I've read, that have tried to hint at a certain topics- mostly possible pairings/ future pairings- and there is nothing wrong with that… accept when they put in whose getting together in the characters section of the summary.

For instance:

Blah, Blah, Blah… Who will win Robin's heart?

Rated: K+ - English - Romance - Chapters: 6 - Words: 4,500 - Reviews: 5 - Favs: 5 - Follows: 5 - Updated: 10h ago - Published: Jun 24 - [Luffy, Robin] Sanji

Like, I'd hate to sound obnoxious, but the [Luffy, Robin] in brackets kind of gives away your major plot reveal on who will win Robin's heart. There would be nothing wrong with listing possible candidates, but when you make it obvious, it just makes your suggestive summary pointless.

Another problem I have expands upon my "spelling rule" from the previous chapter.

Before I said that, "If the author can't spell 90% of the short blurb, I can't imagine how bad the story would be". I should have also added that it is unacceptable for a summary (and the story for that matter) to butcher basic grammar rules. Like, for instance, capitalizing the first word in a sentence, or a name, or place.

If anyone has to wonder why I say this… then, I'm sorry, but that's just sad. Maybe it's my 13+ years schooling talking, but for a summary to consistently break this rule, it just hurts, and I'm not even a writing major. Also, I've said this before and I'll say it again, but if the grammar and spelling in a summary are bad, then I can't imagine how bad the story would be.

I understand that not everyone has access to auto correct or Microsoft word, but please, my dear reader, try to make an effort to follow basic grammar rules.

Thanks for listening to me rant. It's just that I was skimming through fanfiction and came across these two problems a handful of times in the course of an hour and though that I should have included them in the previous chapter.

If I made anyone feel sad, then I'm sorry, unless it's because of the capitalization rule, then you're welcome in advance. Trust me that stuff would not fly with a high school teacher, much less a college professor.
