A/N: I'M BAAAAAAAACK and extremely sorry for my HUGE delay.
I had thought about abandoning this fanfic because I had lost my vision of Jelsa; however when I got the reviews from Vith-Jelsa (Guest) and Hello (Guest), I started typing again. I will finish this, but it will be maybe a few more chapters. Though I have had an idea for a third book since I started this one, I don't think I will do that. I'd also like to thank LetItFlow0992 for ideas to fill in before the ending.
To that one guest that left a long note recently: yes, I have been trying to write; but I've been busy with soccer, school, vacations, and the fact that I did at one point nearly say I was abandoning it. You are right, though, there is no proof of Rapunzel and Elsa/Anna being related, but it works for this story (sort of). And yes, lots of clichés in this fanfic. However, I regret most of my choices for story direction due to the fact I just write and don't plan. I am beginning to write a Minecraft fanfic (might post the first chapter out to see what people think and then continue it if you guys enjoy it), but I don't know about a Warriors one. Frankly, I hardly remember who died and who is alive; though I do remember major points within the series. So if I were to do a Warriors fanfic, it would most likely be completely original with little to no characters that appear in the series.
So, without further ado, here is the last and final chapter of Black Snow! (I know, I know… short book. But come on, if it took me several months to try and do this, I don't know how another chapter would take. Just going to wrap it up here so it isn't incomplete)
Chapter 11: The Last Stand
Elsa's eyes slowly fluttered open and a wave of heat washed over her. Beads of sweat ran down her forehead. As she tried to stand up, she became light headed and the world started to spin. She fell back to the floor with a thud. Her vision became blurry as she looked around the room. Nicole was collapsed on the floor with her arm bent at an abnormal angle. Emily was awake, but barely since the heat was almost unbearable.
"Emily…" Elsa said hoarsely.
Emily turned towards Elsa. Her eyes were red and puffy from crying and there was a giant bruise on her chin. "Ember betrayed us." She choked out before going into another fit of sobs.
"I don't think it was on purpose." Nicole's voice sounded from a corner of the room, "When you two were thrown in here, Kaitlyn came and knocked Ember out. She said she was taking him where he couldn't use his powers."
"It could still be an act though so we would let our guard down again." Elsa pointed out.
Nicole and Emily started to grieve again, but Elsa did not mourn for Ember. For some reason she was mourning for Nicole. She didn't feel any loss with Ember, but instead pity on her daughter for she loved the boy. Maybe I just knew it was a matter of time before one of our own betrayed us, she thought bitterly, or that I wasn't as connected to Ember as the others. The only people that she knew would break her if they were to betray everyone or die or get hurt would be Jack, Nicole, and Anna. As much as Elsa didn't want to admit it, she would break into millions of pieces if any of them were hurt.
The door swung open and Kaitlyn stormed into the scorching hot room. She grabbed Nicole's wrist before briskly leaving the room again with them in tow.
They turned down several different winding paths before Kaitlyn led her into a room with shackles chained to the wall.
The woman fastened the shackles around Nicole's wrists before leaving the small, burning hot room.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
After what seemed like forever, the door to the small room opened to reveal the person Nicole probably loathed the most: Pitch.
"Hello little snowflake," He said with a mocking smile, "I know what you've done."
Before Nicole could ask what, Pitch put his hands on her forehead. Black sand emitted from his palms as Nicole started to lose consciousness.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Nicole was covered in darkness- just kind of floating there.
After a while, a person appeared. It was Simon.
His eyes were full of fear as he looked at Nicole. Before she could stop it, ice blasted from her hands and struck him.
She watched in horror as his eyes glazed over again and he breathed his final breath.
Then came Ember.
"Join Pitch with me so we can always be together, please." He said with his eyes filled with longing.
"No, I won't join Pitch."
Again, ice shot out of her hands uncontrollably and Ember was hit. He cried in pain as the sharp ice made impact.
Nicole sobbed as she watched her best friend- and lover- die by her hands.
Next was Pitch.
"Join, and this won't happen. You're just like me: cold and uncaring."
"Never…" She glared defiantly at the shadow man.
"Well, one more time: will you join me?"
"No."
"You will be the one who shatters your family because you killed your cousin."
Again Simon died before her eyes by her hands.
"You are meant to be evil; you are meant to destroy; you are meant to join me."
Simon died again.
And again.
And again.
Until something broke in Nicole.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Jack walked into the courtyard to find Elsa, but instead found the dead body of Simon and the mourning parents.
He quickly flew over and asked what had happened.
After Rapunzel explained everything, he called Fyre into the courtyard. And after explaining it again, they headed out into the mountains in search of their lost family.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Elsa looked up as the door burst open again.
She expected it to be Kaitlyn, but it was Jack. Pure joy swept over her as she ran into his arms. Elsa buried her head into the crook of his neck while he whispered comforting things into her ear.
Finally they broke apart and Jack asked, "Where's Nicole?"
"And Ember?" Fyre added in.
"I don't know where Nicole or Ember is." Elsa said, looking down at her feet.
She left out the part where it was Ember that had brought them there, but something about it seemed wrong. Especially since Kaitlyn knocked Ember out after taking Emily and Elsa to the cell.
Fyre went back into the corridor to search the other cells for Nicole or Ember. After a while of looking he found the latter a few cells down from where the women were held captive.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
He could barely breathe- he couldn't even use his magic. Ember racked his brain for something connected to this. Fyre's son knew he had read about it somewhere.
Fire and oxygen…
Fire needed oxygen to work! Without oxygen, it dies. Just like a human.
Ember would wake up, and then after about five minutes of struggling to breathe he would lose consciousness again. It went on like this for hours and hours until he began to lose consciousness again.
Stars dotted his vision as he struggled for air. Ember blinked his eyes in an attempt to clear his eyesight, but to no avail.
Just before he passed out again, a figure burst into his room and scooped Ember up.
Ember lost consciousness as soon as he left the ground.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
The four adults and one teenager walked- well Ember was carried- carefully down the long corridor in the direction that Elsa saw Nicole being taken.
After a while, they saw Kaitlyn looking at them with a smirk. The midnight haired woman turned down another corridor. The group ran ahead in hopes of following her.
They followed Kaitlyn for what seemed like hours. She would wait for them at the end of a corridor until the group would see her, and then put on a smirk before turning playfully down another. Somewhere along the lines Ember woke up and was back in commission.
Finally she led them to a staircase and disappeared up it. Of course they followed.
At the top of the stairs was something none of them were expecting- Elsa's ice castle.
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
(Okay, doin something different. In my opinion I write way better like this anyways)
Someone's POV
I waited in the shadows of the ceiling of an ice castle. Master Pitch wouldn't tell me whose it was, or who we were fighting for that matter. All I know is that I must eliminate all of them. Two have ice powers, two have fire powers, one is mortal, another has sand powers- kind of like Master Pitch, but golden-, and the last three fight with weapons and brute strength. Master Pitch wants me to wait it out until he calls me.
"No mercy," he said, "just kill them all."
Eventually Master Kaitlyn came up from the stairs and went to stand in the center of the icy room. A few minutes later a group of five entered the room. They looked shocked that they were in here.
A man with snow white hair, a staff, and formal wear looked bewildered and said something to a woman with platinum blonde hair and a scar on her face. I caught him say something along the lines of, "How did they make the tunnels come to your ice castle?"
So it's that woman's castle. Interesting.
The group approached Master Kaitlyn with obvious malice. "Where is Nicole?" The man with the staff more demanded than asked.
"You'll see." Master Kaitlyn said with a smirk.
A younger man with black hair lost his temper and shot fireballs at my midnight-haired master. She simply stepped aside and let the fire smash into the far wall.
Then the shadows grew darker and Master Pitch walked out beside Master Kaitlyn. "Are you ready for your last stand?" He asked them with a fake smile.
"You mean your last stand?" The white haired man retorted. Master Pitch just smirked in response.
"I think it's time to kill." The Master said after a few rounds of death-glares sent in several directions.
That was my cue.
I gathered up my power from deep within me and focused it on the cluster of people. When I shot, all hell broke loose.
My black ice flew across the air and met its target: the white haired man.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Jack's POV
"I think it's time to kill." Pitch finally said.
Before I could ready my staff, or do anything for that matter, I heard the familiar whistle of ice shooting through the air. Then it made contact.
The ice lodged itself into my stomach and sent me crumbling to my knees. Stars appeared in my vision as I tried to blink them rapidly away. My hand automatically went to the wound and I immediately felt something wet and sticky… blood. My blood.
I barely remember Elsa bending over me- concern and fright clear on her beautiful face- before she as well was struck in the chest and I lost all consciousness as I tried to get up and save her.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Ember's POV
After Jack and Elsa got hit, someone leapt down from the ceiling and stood beside Pitch. It was a female with platinum-blonde hair with a tint of snow-white. She wore an off-the-shoulder dress that seemed to be made of ice.
Before I could take it all in, she looked up and glared straight at me. I immediately froze in recognition- it was Nicole.
Black ice soared through the air while I barely managed to get my muscles to work in order to dodge. I ducked down to avoid more ice. All my blood seemed to rush to my head and into my ears.
Sound of battle roared dully around me as I focused all of my attention on Nicole. I couldn't hurt her, but I also couldn't just stand idly by while she impaled me. While attempting to dodge her ice and think of a plan at the same time, she had advanced towards me without my knowing. Her fists coated themselves in ice as she punched me in the gut.
I doubled over, the wind knocked out of me. Nicole wasted no time to pin me down onto my back. She straddled my waist while her feet pinned my hands down by my side. A sharp, black ice dagger appeared in her hand as she slowly made her way to my throat, smirking with a wild look in her eyes.
"This isn't you, Nicole!" I tried to reason, but she just kept advancing.
So you know what I did that every person should do to someone that is trying to kill you: I kissed her.
Nicole immediately stopped, eyes wide open and her body went ridged before melting into the kiss.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Fyre's POV
Ember started battling Nicole while Pitch and Kaitlyn turned to me. I fired five consecutive fireballs at their feet. The ice beneath them exploded enough to cause a distraction. I ran over to a bewildered Kaitlyn and delivered a spinning kick to her head. A loud thump echoed through the large room as it connected.
Nightmare horses rushed towards me from either side as I barely got out of the way before getting grazed by some black sand- and let me tell you, it hurt like I had just been stabbed.
I turned my attention to Pitch who had collected a small army of Nightmares to attack for him. I shot fire at one of them, but it just split in half before reforming back into its regular form.
Cursing under my breath, I ran towards the mass with a battle cry. Flames erupted from my body and licked against my skin. Every Nightmare I came in contact with either split away from me or spontaneously combusted; and each Nightmare that came in contact with my skin stabbed through me like a million swords.
By the time all the Nightmares were gone, I was bleeding all over and my breathing had turned ragged.
Kaitlyn finally joined the fight again with blood matted into her hair where I had kicked her. She stood in front of me with a sneer as she kicked me down onto the ground. My mother formed a sword of flames before saying with venom, "You have disgraced me, and therefor do not deserve to live."
The sickening sound of ice driving itself through flesh reached my ears. Ice protruded from Kaitlyn's stomach as she looked down in shock before exploding into flames and disappearing. Behind where she once stood was Nicole with a grim smile crossing her face.
As she offered to help me up, the footsteps of several others echoed in the large ice room. I accepted her hand and stood up to see the Guardians standing in front of me with grim expressions.
" 'e got way." North said with his thick Russian accent.
"And Elsa…" Tooth trailed off. I looked over to where Jack and Elsa had collapsed. Emily did as best as she could during the fight to heal them, but Elsa was lying in her own pool of blood. The Snow Queen was paler than she usually was with no signs of her chest moving up and down to show she was breathing.
"Dead?" My voice cracked. All I got in response was silence. "What about Jack?"
"Barely alive," Ember whispered while Nicole just stared into space devoid of emotion.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Nicole's POV
A month later and father and I still haven't gotten over mother's death. Whatever we looked at reminded us of her. Dad resigned his position as king due to the fact having an immortal king wasn't in everyone's wishes. In his place stood Aunt Anna and Uncle Kristoff until I became twenty-one.
The castle seemed empty and quite now-a-days except for the occasional sobs coming from people's sleeping quarters. We were all in a depression and everyone knew it. The only thing that could fill our hearts again would be the frozen one that was melted so long ago.
And scene! I hoped you guys enjoyed Black Snow and stay tuned for more fanfics from me! Hope the fight scene wasn't too rushed, I don't really like it .-.
I have this challenge: Continue this series with one more book where Elsa wakes up, becomes a Guardian, but has no memory of her past life. She was buried at her ice castle and Jack was visiting her grave when she woke up. So he tries to help her get her memory back. Set 20 years after events of Black Snow: Nicole and Ember are ruling Arendelle. PM me if you do this challenge, I would love to read this.
Things I regret writing in The Snow King for a Snow Queen (SKSQ) and Black Snow
1)Making Fyre 15. I regret this choice because 1) he should be older to crush on Elsa and 2) he makes Elsa freakin' old when they finally have their kids
2)Having Ember and Nicole 14/15. They just need to be a bit older .-. Maybe 17/18/19?
3)Bringing Pitch back twice in SKSQ . However I don't regret bringing Fyre into the mix
4)Making the battle vs the "best fighters in Weselton" be beaten very quickly
5)Resolving the sort-of love triangle between Elsa, Jack, and Fyre within one chapter.
6)Writing almost no Jelsa in Black Snow. I regret centering it on their kids…
The thing I regret most of all is making you guys wait and losing my Jelsa fangirlyness. I do still ship it, but not as much as I used to- thus explaining most of the writer's block n stuff.
