A/N: I know I've been gone for awhile but I'm back now and hopefully I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. I"m gonna get right to the point because every hates authors notes but Ali tells all and the girls are one step closer to figuring out who -A. Tbh I don't know how much longer this story is gonna last I just don't feel as into as I used to and besides the girls are hot on the -A trail and I'm not gonna drag out the hunt for -A too long but anyway I hope you like this chapter. Please don't hate me for some of this.
Narrator POV
Time jump to one month later
Its been one month since Aria and Emily have gotten out of the hospital and they lives are finally starting to get back to normal. Well as normal as life can be with a tormenter as evil as A and having your dead best friend back in your life that is. Aria and Hanna decided it was best to just stay friends about 2 weeks ago and as soon as Emily and Aria get home from the hospital Emily and Spencer realize how hard it is to be together once they're getting back into the swing of things. They fought a lot over Spencer's releationship with Aria and Emily's with Hanna.
*Flashback Emily's POV
"Hey Em I'm back!" I hear after hours of waiting on Spencer to get back with dinner
"Spencer where have you been? You left nearly 3 hours ago. You were just going to the Grill." I says as she walks into my room and lies down on the bed next to me
"Sorry babe. Aria called while I was on my way to the Grill. Hanna had to have dinner with her dad. He just showed up and surprised her right before Ari called. She was home alone and hadn't eaten dinner yet. You know she's still in a wheelchair because of her broken leg and can't be left alnoe for that long."
"You could have invited her over here to have dinner with us. Just because we're a couple now doesn't mean our friends can't join us for dinner."
"I know but this was our first night alone together and I wanted to make it speical and if Aria came it would kinda ruin things."
"Yeah well you already ruined things so just give me my food and go! You could have at least called ya know!"
"Emily this isn't just about me being late is it? Is something else bothering you?''
"Oh no nothing else is bothering me except for the fact that my girlfriend ditched me on our first night alone for her ex-girlfriend!"
"Emily, Aria may be my ex but she's still my best friend. Besides what was I supposed to do leave her there alone and hungry until Hanna got back. Her dad wanted to take her out to some kind of amusement park or something like that afterwards but she turned him down so I could come be with you. Her dad was only in town for tonight and the only reason he came was to introduce her to his new wife and step-daughter. She thought he came because he missed her but he came so he didn't have to tell her the news over the phone. He couldn't even bother to invite her to the wedding. She was really upset so me and Aria were trying to console her. I have friends who need me sometimes too ya know!"
"I know that Spencer but she could have called Alison. They've gotten really close since she's been back but no she's calls you. Her ex. Wonder why Spence. She's still in love with you. She calls. You come running. I call. You come as soon as everyone else is taken care of."
"God Emily what do you want from me. First you bitch about the way me and Hanna used to fight and how I treat Aria when we were together and right after we broke up and now when I'm trying to be a better friend to the two of them then you bitch about that too!"
"Your the only one who hasn't tried to rebuild their releationship with Ali yet you wanna treat Aria better then your own girlfriend and Hanna too as long as she's with Aria which she usually is. You care more about your ex then your girlfriend and you pretend to care about Hanna more then me and you don't seem to care about Ali at all. Something's wrong with that picture Spence."
"Me and Alison were never as close as the rest of you were and I do care about her. If you think I care more about the others than you or don't care about you at all then your the one with the problem!"
"Your right I am the one with the problem. My girlfriend and her ex-girlfriend are still in love so my girlfriend doesn't care about me like I care about her so yeah I have a fucking problem Spencer."
"Emily I do care about you why can't you get that and stop trying to put everything on me. I see the way you and Hanna look at each other so yeah maybe me and Aria aren't over each other and maybe I'm not in love with you but I do love you. You and Hanna aren't over each other yet either and unless you can look me in the eye and tell me you love me your just as much to blame for our failed attempt of a releationship as I am."
"I'm sorry Spencer your right. When me and Hanna broke up it wasn't because we stopped loving each other it was because we couldn't make it work at the time and I'm guessing the same goes for you and Aria."
"I love you Emily Fields just not in the way I want to."
"Me too."
"So is this it? Are we breaking up?"
"I think its for the best." We just sit on my bed and cry for nearly an hour before we decide to go get our girls back. We didn't cry because we were sad we broke up and we still wanted to be together. We cried because that meant it probably wasn't gonna work with anyone but Hanna and Aria and that scared us to death considering how badly both releationships ended the first time but the most terrifying thing was how much we loved them.
*End flashback
Spencer POV
Aria spent the night for the first time we got back together and Emily and Hanna had a sleep over of there own and of cousre Hanna had to tell me they didn't do much sleeping but its not like me and Aria slept much either. Now we're waiting on them and Ali to get here. Alison's finally gonna tell us what happened that night and maybe we can fianlly figure out who -A is and put a stop to the bitch.
Alison Pov
About 15 minutes after I get to Spencer's house Hanna and Emily finally decide to show up. Today the girls find out what really happened that night and who saved me from my near death.
"Oh god where do I even begin to start" I wonder out loud as I join the other girls on Spencer's bed
"How about the beginning?" Hanna says in a sarcastic tone and shoving a handful of popcorn in her mouth
"Actually Han I was thinking about starting with right now. Of course I'm starting at the beginning but I mean what part of the night should I start at. We aren't watching a movie babe so why the popcorn?" I shoot back just as sarcastically and taking a drink from my red solo cup "Ok well we all had been drinking pretty heavily that night. Before long the four of you were passed out. Or so I thought." I say looking at Spencer "I got a call from a blocked number and I stepped outside to answer it. I said hello several times but no reply. Finally I say 'I know your there I can hear you breathing' getting very annoyed with this person. The line went dead. I heard footsteps behind me. It was only Spencer thank god. You girls didn't know about A yet and I was trying to protect you so I lead Spencer back to the barn and told her to wait there for me. I look around because I could feel someone watch me. I turn around and there stood A."
"You know who A is and you still haven't told us. Really Ali?'' Hanna interrupts with a mouthful of popcorn and dropping peices on her shirt
"It was dark and I couldn't see their face very well. All of a sudden the hood comes off and-"
"Who was it?" I get interrupted for the second time but this time by Aria
"Jenna!" Spencer answers for me
"How would you know?" questions Emily
"No I'm saying Jenna is the one Ali saw but I know she was there and she was not blind at all I can tell you that much." Spencer says standing up from the bed and starts pacing. Just as she's about to talk again I start telling my story again
"Pigskin?'' I questioned the figure that stood before me in complete shock that none other then Paige McCullers is the one who dares to compete with me. "Jenna was there but that she wasn't person I saw. Let me tell the story Spencer."
"I have a name you know" Paige says annoyed and with a eye roll asnwering my question
"Paige is A! Omg that explains why she's trying so hard to get close to Emily!" Hanna cries jumping up off the bed
"Will you and Spencer sit down and shut up so Ali can finish her story?'' Emily interjects
"Thats it! Jenna must have been behind you and hit you over the head then she and Paige tried to bury your body!" Spencer's says ingoring Emily's request
"I was just getting to that part before I was so rudely interrupted now everyone sit down and shut up if you want to know what happened! Ok so before I can say anything else I hear a voice behind me ask 'What should we do with the body boss?' I turn around to see Jenna standing behind me. 'What body' I ask fearful of the asnwer but I don't let it show. 'Yours' she answer and next thing I know I'm being hit over the head with a shovel. I wake in a hole with dirt being shoveled on top of me." I tell the girls as tears start to stream down my face.
"Ali we can finish this another time. If your not ready to keep going we'll doing something else. Something fun. K babe" Aria says as she pulls me in for a hug then starts to rub small circles on my back
"Thanks but I wanna just get this over with then get to the fun stuff. Ok so um I wake up in a hole to dirt being shoveled on top of me. 'Help!' I cried 'Please someone help me!' All of a sudden another figure comes out of no where and next thing I know both Paige and Jenna are gone then the figure pulls me up out of the ground. You'll never believe who it was." I say as a smile slowly starts to creep onto my face "It was Noel. He took me to his cabin and cleaned me up. He'd been helping me hide out. As Em and Maya started to grow closer I had him get closer to her and get some answers about how you were doing since they found 'my body'. Then when I remembered that Aria used to have a thing for him I had him get closer to her too. I wanted to make sure you were always safe and Noel was the perfect inside man because he could get close to Emily through Maya for me and Hanna through Sean and then Aria through herself. Noel was the only person I ever came in contact with. Soon I started to devolop feelings for him and I eventually worked up the nerve to tell him and thats how we started dating. I came back because he said it was safe and I trust him with my life because well you know."
"Paige and Jenna are A? Wow I never saw that coming. It makes so much more sense now that you and Noel are dating." Aria says
"I get why Jenna would wanna torture us but not Paige. What did we ever do to her?" Emily adds
"What if there is more then one A like a whole big A team and Jenna is the leader. The big A"
"Thats the smartest thing I've ever heard you say Hanna." I tease
"Thats a good theory Han but Jenna can't be big A."
"Why not she's part of the A team?" Aria asks with a puzzled look on her face
"Maybe she wasn't blind then but she definately is now. I think she was faking her blindness then but even though she wasn't blind then she was going to go blind evetually ." Spencer answers
"Ok well if Jenna isn't big A then who is?" Emily and Hanna both ask
"Well it has to be someone who hates us as much if not more then Jenna does. Who is the only other person who could possible hate us that much?" I ask already knowing the asnwer with a small smirk on my face
"Toby?" Spencer, Emily, and Aria all ask
"Why would Toby be Big A or hate us for that matter? He is Spencer's ex after all. Why would he date someone he hated?" Hanna asks confused
"Han who took the fall for the Jenna thing?" Emily questions
"And if you were them wouldn't you hate us just as much as Jenna does if not more considering the releationship they had?" Spencer adds
"Ok well that still doesn't explain why he would want to date one of us."
"To get close to us. To find out our secrets and use them against us. First he went for Emily and she was starting to realize she was gay. Then he goes for me next because I seemed to have a big secret at the time which I did and he found out." Spencer answers
"Yeah I didn't just come out of the the closet Han. I fell out on my face because A pushed me out . As a matter fact your the only one who didn't fall out on her face. We all knew you were gay we just waited for you to come out and didn't push you." Emily adds rather annoyed
"Why is it that Hanna is the only one who didn't fall out on her face?" Aria questions
"Because Toby was out of our lives by that time. He starting get close to Em right before she was pushed out and he was dating me when I was pushed out and you were the one I left him for so of course he would want to push you out too."
"Wait I thought Aria forced you to come out to Toby before you were ready." I ask
"She did. Besides Aria he was the first one to know I was gay."
"Oh ok you guys were really getting me confused there for and second." Hanna says
"So how can we be sure Toby really is Big A?" the girls ask
"I know one way but it will take some time and we'll need Caleb's help."
"Caleb? Why him?" Hanna asks
"Because he's the best phone hacker we know."
"He's the only phone hacker we know." She shoots back
"Whatever. Ok so here's the plan. Emily since you were the second closest to him you need to get close to him again and get his phone but be careful if he's who we think he is then he's dangerous."
"Why me? Why not Spencer?"
"Hey I broke up with him for a girl do you really think that would work Em?"
"I rejected him for a girl but whatever."
"Ok so Em you get close to him and get his phone."
"How do I do that?"
"God must I do everything! You girls haven't changed a bit! Invite him over to your house and we'll get Caleb, Noel and Jason there for backup just in case. He has to go to the bathroom eventually and when he does he'll most like leave his phone. Once he's out of sight take his phone and put it in your bra so he can't see that you have it. When he comes back and looks for his phone tell him you thought he took it with him and after a few mintues of him looking for it look at your phone and say your late for swim practice and if you find his phone you'll bring it back to him. Once he's gone give the phone to Caleb to see if he can hack into it and see if he can find anything A releated."
"He probably uses a different phone for A business."
"If he is big A he's probably used that phone for something A releated at least once and if he has Caleb will find it."
"What if Caleb doesn't find anything?" Hanna asks
"Then he might not be A. He'll still be a suspect but we'd have to start looking for other suspects."
"Ezra!" Aria cries
"What about him?" I ask
"He has a connection to you and he knew who I was before but yet he still got involved with someone he knew would become one of his students. He asked a lot about you and mysteriosly knew things about you that we didn't even know. Maybe he's not big A but definatley guilty of something. I think we should add him to the suspect list."
"Your right he's definatley hidding something and we're gonna figure out what it is. You do the same thing Emily's doing with Toby but you should probably go to his apartment and we'll figure out somewhere to hide the boys."
Emily POV
"Hey Toby! Glad you could make it!"
"Hey Emily. We haven't talked in forever. Is something up?"
"No. Nothing's up I just missed my old friend Toby."
"Ok um got anything to drink?"
"Yeah I'll be right back." I return shortly with two drinks in hand
"Thanks Em. So how have you been? I heard about you car accident."
"Me and Aria are doing a lot better now but what about you? I haven't seen you around much."
"Yeah I guess I've just been staying under the radar lately. Can I use your bathroom?''
"Yeah of course." Toby takes 2 phones out of his pockets and lies them down on the coffee table
"I'll be right" Toby returns shortly to discover his phone's missing "What did you do with my phones?!"
"I don't know what phone's your talking about." *checks phone "Hey I have to go I'm gonna be late for swim pratice but I'll let you know if I find any phones."
Aria POV
"Thanks for letting me come over. I know we'll probably never be together again since I'm gay but I've missed you."
"Hey I need to use the bathroom real quick and then we can talk." Ezra leaves his phone next to me on the couch so I quickly grab it and hid it
"Hey have you seen my phone it was right here a second ago."
"No I haven't seen it. Shit I totally spaced I'm suppossed to pick up Mike for lacrosse pratice. I have to go. We'll talk later."
Time jump to two weeks later
Alison POV
"Ok girls what do you have for us? Who's at the top of the A list."
"Ezra. Caleb didn't find anything on Toby but he found a lot of -A like activity on Ezra's phone but Toby's two phones are still a little suspicious if you ask me." Hanna answers
"But why would Ezra be -A?'' Spencer questions
"I don't know why he would hate you girls but I know why he would hate me. I'm the reason Jackie and Ezra didn't get married. I thought I was preganant and I told Ezra. e told me I better get rid of it because he was about to get married and he couldn't have people knowing he got a 15 year girl preganant. I was mad. I told Jackie. I told her I was preganant with Ezra's baby and that he said he wanted to be with me and we could raise our baby together. Ezra was so pissed. I don't know what I wanted from him but I wanted something."
"Ezra got you preganant! You slept with my boyfriend!"
"Oh please Aria this was way before you met him so calm the fuck down."
"Ok so our -A team suspects are Ezra, Jenna, and Paige?" Emily asks chaning the subject
"We all know Mona was the original -A. Who's says she not still part of the -A team and Toby is deffinately hiding something." Spencer answers
"Ok well I have to have family night with my dads new family so lets finish this tomorrow."
"Ok Bye Han. Call if you want help getting away. I love you babe."
"Ok Emily can we not get all lovey dovey to our girlfriend right now." Ali snaps
"Whats wrong Ali? Jealous much?" Hanna teases
"No I wanted Aria not you Hanna."
"Hey bac-"
"Calm down Spencer it was just a joke. Everyone knows Emily was always my favorite but Noel Kahn owns my heart now."
"Wow who whould have thought that Noel Kahn could turn Ali into somewhat of a romantic."
"I thought you had somewhere to be Hanna?"
"Yeah I know I'm going. Bye love you all!"
"Bye Hanna!" all 4 of us girls say in unison
