-Sequel-
"Yuru?"
A shock of blonde hair popped out from under the table "Yes, mom?"
Hinata smiled at her nine year old son, "How was training with your grandpa?"
"Yuru made Grandpa mad, because he said that his training was boring and that training with Uncle Lee was more fun." Kimyona, Yuru's three year younger sister giggled.
Hinata bit down her grin, she could just about imagine how her father's face looked when he heard he was losing in popularity against the Green Beast. Thankfully Lee had gotten rid of the hideous green spandex over the years, but that meant by no means that his sense in fashion had improved in any way… or that his enthusiasm lessened in the slightest.
"Shut up!" Yuru scowled at pulled his sister's blonde pigtail. Within seconds her pale violet eyes filled with tears and almost immediately he felt bad.
"Sorry, Kim" he hugged his sister and she sniffed still teary eyes, but had already forgiven him. It wasn't like it hurt very much, but Kim did inherit her father's mischievous streak.
Kim gave him a wet kiss on his cheek to indicate her forgivness and giggled at the face he made.
"Can I go play with Kiya?" Yuru's pupilless pale blue eyes looked up hopefully at his mother. He asked partly because he wanted to get away from his sister but more so because he absolutely loved his very best friend and they spent every possible second together.
Hinata absolutely adored her son's eyes. They were the brightest known to the Hyuga Clan and when he activated the Byakugan their center became almost as blue as his fathers. Naruto said that he was glad their daughter had her beautiful eyes, but she had always found her eyes boring and creepy. However the blond hair that accompanied the pale lavender made them look exotic and striking, at least that was how she saw their daughter.
"Kiya is going to come by later, remember. Today's your daddy's birthday and everyone is coming to celebrate" Hinata reminded her son and his eyes shone with excitement at the prospect of a celebration.
"Is Auntie Hanabi coming with Uncle Gaara?" Kim interrupted before her brother could say something.
"Yes Kim, and yes, Tayori and Kara are coming as well," at the mention of her cousins names Kimyona clapped her hands together and giggled happily.
"Tch, who cares about them? When will Aunt Ino come with Kiya?" Yuru was persistent to find out when his best friend would be here. He got along with most of the kids but Ino's and Chouji's daughter Kiyasume was his best friend and he was overly fixated on her and overly protective.
His mother rolled her eyes, "They will be here in a few hours. Now will you help me decorate the cake?" Hinata sighed, hoping Naruto would be back soon from picking up Hanabi and Gaara with their kids.
"No, that's for girls! I want to do something manly!" he demanded.
"Fine then will you pull out the chairs and the table in the garden? They are very heavy so it's only for very manly men."
The blond boy saluted, "No problem, mom."
When Hinata felt a little pull at the hem of her dress, she saw her daughter looking up her with big eyes, "Can I help with the cake, mom?"
"Of course, Kim," Hinata lifted her up and allowed her daughter to carefully place chocolate plates on the orange cake.
Loud clamour from the direction of the stairs made them abandon the cake.
"I won, I'm telling you!" a brunette boy around the age of eight claimed. His green eyes narrowed at his opponent.
"You liar! I was clearly faster than you!" his exact copy exclaimed upset.
"Sheigyo, Shai!" the origin of their eyes yelled from the top of the chair, "Didn't I tell you not to disturb Aunt Hinata!"
The twins exchanged looks, "Ahh! It's the giant forehead monster! Safe us aunt Hina." the two ran towards her and hid behind her legs.
A vein popped on Sakura's head and she cursed the day she fell in love with Kankuro.
"Shei, Shai, it's not nice to call your mother a monster!" Hinata scolded lightly and set her daughter down who stared at the two wide eyes. Hinata couldn't blame her, Kim hadn't seen the twins in almost a year and they had grown a lot since then.
"That's right boys. You shouldn't call your mom a monster, no matter how true it is," Kankuro barely avoided the punch his wife threw at him. He bolted down the stairs and tried to hide behind Hinata as well.
"Kankuro, it's nice to see you!" Hinata hugged the tall man and dispersed the tension, however playful it may be "Yuru is outside to help me with the table and the chairs. Do you guys think you could support him?" she asked the twins.
Again the twins exchanged looks. It had always amazed Hinata how they communicated like that, Hanabi and her could do that but that was because of the Byakugan.
"How could we deny such a beautiful lady?" "Leave it to us."
They bowed to her and one of the two even gave her a wink. Definitely their father's sons.
Hinata blinked in surprise, "Thank you".
"This is your entire fault Kankuro I hope you know that," Sakura huffed and greeted the hostess. Said man tried to wipe the proud look off his face and replace it with something similar to guilt, but failed horribly at it.
Sakura shock her head. "…Of course not. I really wish we could have gotten a girl."
"Why can't you just be happy that our sons don't have your hair?"
"What is that supposed to mean? Are you implying that my hair isn't pretty?"
"Wha..? No, pfff, don't be ridiculous. Just it's pink and they are boys."
The threatening aura around Sakura didn't lessen and Kankuro concluded that maybe he should have just kept his mouth shut.
"Sakura, please don't destroy stuff in our house," Naruto appeared upstairs as well followed by Gaara and Hanabi with their two children. He made his way next to his wife and kissed her temple. Then he brought an arm around her waist and stroke her ever growing belly lovingly.
After their warm greeting, Gaara's five year old red headed daughter directed her sea green eyes traversed by silver threads, at Hinata. She would be grow up to be a real beauty. "Where's Kim?"
"Ah Kara, of course! Kim was already asking for you," Hinata looked about expecting her daughter to still be around, "Maybe you should look outside. She could be with her brother."
The little girl visibly hesitated and she reached out her hand to her brother, staring at him with a pleading look. The seven year old groaned and took her hand, "Fine I'll go with you, you crybaby."
"Tayori, be nice to your sister." Gaara warned and was rewarded by a bright smile of his youngest, which he returned fully.
"And, Tayo?" Hanabi looked at him with a stern look. "Try to keep the twins in check."
"Hey, my children are little angels," Kankuro protested. "They said the thing with the noodles was an accident and I believe them."
Naruto, who had played a very unfortunate part in the "noodle incident", opposed that quite animatedly and the two of them started to bicker on their way outside.
"Who else is coming?" Hanabi followed Hinata to the kitchen to put her cake in the fridge.
"Pretty much everyone. Sai can only make it in the evening though and Shino cancelled because Shiho is due everyday now and he wants to stay with her."
"Do they know the gender yet?"
"No, Shiho didn't want to know and forced Shino to suffer in ignorance with her. He's not happy about it, though," Hinata giggled, recalling her former teammate's tormented face.
"Can I help with something? You may want to rest your feet for a while." Sakura stuck her head in kitchen and Hinata hesitated. She loved the pinkette, she really did, but her talents in the kitchen were limited at best. Then her eyes fell on her rather big stomach and she accepted gratefully for the short break.
Soon enough the house was filled with noise and laughter. Yuru had monopolized Kiya the minute Chouji and Ino stepped through the door with their light blond girl. The commotion reached his peek when Kiba and Karui arrived. All packed with their two boys and their infant daughter and of course followed by three dogs as well.
To balance them out Shikamaru's and Temari's son Zuno and Neji's and Tenten's daughter Ribati as the oldest kids at eleven and ten were both quiet and reserved. Lee and Karin had only brought their one year old since their elder daughters were on a training trip with their godfather Gai.
Hinata allowed herself to sigh in relief when every adult was finally sitting and eating cake. The day had been rather stressful and she was glad that the worst of it was over now.
"Everything alright? I don't want you to overstrain yourself." Naruto's blue eyes glanced at her with worry and the hand that wasn't occupied with stuffing himself with cake caressed her swollen stomach. The bulge was larger than with her first two children but that was to be expected. After all, this time they have twins. After Kimyona Naruto and Hinata had decided that two kids were enough to deal with, even though initially both had wanted a huge family. The news of her pregnancy came unexpected but they were both looking forward to their new family members.
"Don't worry, I'm fine," she whispered and accepted his offering of a mouthful of cake.
His ears perked up by a sudden crash and loud noise on the other side of the garden. A yell had most parents alerted.
"I'll look what's up," Hinata was about to get up but her husband held her back.
"No, you sit down. I'll go," he stalked through the garden and behind the house.
"What's going on here?" His stern question was directed at his son, who was breathing with anger and had obviously delivered a punch to one of the twins. Yuru glared at Sei who looked more surprised than hurt.
After his son didn't answer, he shot a questioning gaze at Neji's daughter. "I don't know, Zuno and I were playing with Nokkiru." Kiba's son nodded and his golden eyes showed his confusion. He had barely never seen Yuru get mad at anything or anyone. The Hokage's son was his role model and his eyes were wide at the scene.
Tayo shrugged and said that he with his sister and Kim. So Naruto was left with either his son or Sei and Shai, "I will ask one more time. What happened?"
Shai, the twin who wasn't lying on the ground helped his brother up and said. "Yuru suddenly punched Sei."
Naruto looked at his son. Yuru was usually a calm collected kid, if he didn't have one of his not-so-good ideas that led to nothing but chaos. But he wasn't a kid that solved problems with his fists.
"He called Kiya fat." Yuru finally spoke up still glaring at Sei. "And he wouldn't take it back."
Naruto shot a look at Ino's daughter who stood a little behind his son, her eyes still glazed over with tears. He sighed, he should have figured. Yuru never got violent unless someone insulted his best friend or made her cry. His son was very protective of her and got furious when other people made fun of her. He had been sent home twice from school already for attacking people who bullied the girl.
Kiya was really a cute little girl. She looked like a copy of Ino, except she had her father's stature. While she wasn't fat or anything, she still had a lot of baby fat left on her body. Yuru had made it his personal goal to make sure no one even looked at her the wrong way.
"Yuru, we don't just punch people, even if they said some hurtful things." Naruto bend down to his nine-year-old's level. "You should apologize to Sei. And Sei, it's not nice to call someone fat, you shouldn't insult people, because it will hurt their feelings."
"I won't apologize unless Sei apologizes to Kiya," his son insisted and Naruto was very proud of Yuru, even if he couldn't approve of his means. Not that he would show his pride, that would certainly not be approved by Hinata.
Sei looked rather uncomfortable at all the stared directed at him. "Fine, I'm sorry Kiyasume. I take it back, ok?"
The girl nodded reluctantly and Yurushi seemed to accept it as well, because he extended his arm to Sei. And not even two minutes later the twins were happily playing with Yuru and Kiya in the sandbox that had up until now been occupied by Gaara's children. Not that that was a surprise, they had inherited their father's ability to control it and both of them left out no opportunity to work on their skills.
He turned back to the party, his birthday party, in the garden of his house. His beautiful perfect wife that he loved like crazy was leaning back to look at him and when their eyes met she smiled. Her hands rested on her stomach where his soon-to-be-born children waited to get to know him. When he looked back at his life he wouldn't change a thing if it led to this scene. All the pain and the mistakes ended in him being surrounded by a family that loved him and friends that supported him. Long strides steered him in the welcoming arms of his wife and best friend all in one.
-The End-
