RECAP:

"Everyone, after Takuya!" Kouji commanded once we were all out.

"Ewww….we need to wash this off later." I grimaced at all the mud and Izumi agreed with me whole heartedly. But none the less, we all ran after Vritramon.

We arrived just as Gigasmon's digicode appeared.

"The 5 spirits!" Tomoki exclaimed, happy that he could get his spirit back now. Vritramon infolded his wings and took off.

"Gigasmon's Spirit! Mizumon's Spirit!" I smiled as I got my spirit back.

"Chakmon's Spirit!" Tomoki cheered as he got his back as well.

"Now, return Fairymon's Spirit too!" Vritramon charged at him.

"Ah hurry!" I warned, but it was too late. The digicode had disappeared and Grottomon immediately escaped by digging into the ground.

"Damn it…He got away! And Fairymon's Spirit is…"

"Ne, Bokomon?"

"Yes?"

"Is there a lake or hot spring or something around here?" I asked.

"Why do you ask?"

"…..I'm not sure if you've noticed but….we're still kind of covered in mud?" I gestured to all the…well mud.

"Ah yes! Of course! I believe there is a small hot spring just past these woods! Follow me then!" We all followed her without question. I don't know about the boys, but Izumi and I are QUITE relieved that we can wash off all this gunk.

-TIME SKIP-WHOOP-

"Rock! Paper! Scissors!"

"Yes! Girls first~" I smirked at the boys and high five Izumi. Junpei and Takuya groaned in defeat and Kouji just "hmphed". We had made it to the hot spring, but since there was only one, we couldn't decide who went first. After a lot of debating and reasoning and arguing…we settled it with a round of "rock paper scissors." And obviously….girls won~

As I stood up to hide behind some boulders, Izumi whipped around to glare at the boys.

"And don't ANY of you DARE to peep!" She pointed a finger at them and sassily followed me.

"I wouldn't be too worried if I was you, it's not any of them have a death wish." I commented and Izumi giggled. Unbeknownst to us, it appears that one of them DID have a death wish…

Guys POV

"Psst, Tomoki! Junpei!" Takuya urged with a whisper. Tomoki and Junpei looked at each other, shrugged and got up to follow Takuya. Kouji had his back to them and paid no attention.

"OK, here's the plan…." Takuya immediately starts talking in a hushed voice with a mischievous grin on his face.

"Takuya-niichan, I don't think we should…"

"Why would we-" Takuya cuts off Junpei,

"It'll be fun!"

Yuki's POV

"Yuki…" I glanced up at Izumi, pausing in my task of getting mud out of my hair. We had just finished washing and hanging our clothes, so now we're just soaking in the hot spring.

"Don't take this wrong but… You're really different from my first impression of you…I had thought you were um…kind of anti social and uh…rude…" She continued uncertainly, probably hoping that I wouldn't be offended. I just sighed and gave her a small smile,

"I…uh, get that a lot…"

"Is there a reason for that?" She asked and I shrugged, sinking into the warm water,

"I dunno...I guess it's just easier to keep others at a distance. Losing ones you care about is tough, ya know?" I sighed again and stood up, pulling all my hair to the side to wring out some water. Suddenly, I heard a gasp,

"Yuki what-your back!" Izumi exclaimed. My hand immediately touches the spot between my shoulder blades on reflex.

"Oh this…I got it in a car accident when I was 7…" My fingers traced the lightning bolt shaped scar. Izumi looked like she wanted to ask more, but she glanced at my expression and stopped.

"So, you got a back story?" I sat down again and smiled at her. She took a deep breath, as if bracing herself, and then she started talking. She talked about how she didn't know how to interact with the girls at her school and being left alone on a school camping trip. I listened silently and thought about how much I could relate to her.

And just like that, we chatted and a strong bond formed. I didn't really talk much about my family issues, but I did mention Ai, whom Izumi thought was adorable and wanted to meet someday. Suddenly, there was a rustling noise from our left and I jolted up. Izumi and I looked at each other worriedly. Suddenly, before either of us could say anything, freezing water fell on our head and rolled down our backs, sending chills through my body. And so, I did what most people would do.

I screamed.

Izumi also screeched and I caught a faint chuckle behind us. Then, all of a sudden, Kouji burst out from the bushes in front of us.

'What-" His face turned beet red and Kouji immediately spun around. I gasped and ducked into the water, covering myself. Izumi squealed and started chucking pebbles at the back of Kouji's head.

"GO AWAY!" We cried in unison. As Kouji rushed into the bushes, I heard more chuckling behind me. This time, I'm SURE it wasn't my imagination…That someone chuckling MUST be the one who prepared the icy water…I grabbed Izumi's arm and whispered in her ear. Her face was still read from being…well...seen...

"On the count of 3…1…2…3!" Together, we created a big wave of water and aimed it in the direction of the laughing. There were cries of shock and I smirked. Now that, whoever that was, is soaked, they'll be easier to find. Leaving a trail of muddy footsteps or water or something… I dunno, that was the best plan I could come up with before they could run away.

-AFTER GETTING DRIED AND DRESSED-

"What the hell was that-" Izumi and I angrily stomped back to the boys. I was angry at Kouji for well…you know. But my sentence was cut off when I noticed Takuya, Tomoki, and Junpei were soaked…Then realization hit me.

"How. Dare. You!" I fumed and Izumi raised a hand, about to slap Junpei.

"No no, wait, Izumi-chan! It- it was Takuya!" Junpei frantically tried to scramble away. Tomoki nodded quickly from his hiding behind a tree. Both Izumi and I snapped to face the nervous looking goggles head.

"TA-KU-YA…" I cracked my knuckles.

"Ah wait! I can explain! HELP ME!" Takuya struggled with anime tears streaming down his face.

Takuya's POV

I...just...experienced…hell…THOSE GIRLS ARE DEMONS I TELL YOU! DEMONS! I shuddered in the memory…

"Why was I the only one punished…" I grumbled.

"It was your idea, you idiot." Kouji scoffed at me and I glared in response.

"Yeah well…you saw them naked! They should beat you up too!" Kouji jolted and looked away.

"…I saw nothing" I scoffed loudly and Yuki shot me a glare. A chill went up my spine and I broke out into cold sweat, so I decided to shut up.

I have learned a very valuable lesson today…never EVER piss off girls…
