I explained some things to the kids in the next hours, for example how telephone trees work or how you can see where north, south, east and west is without asking a compass. Some simple things that all the soldiers of the colony would also know. I didn't tell them how to kill or communicate with dinosaurs, because they were no killers such as the soldiers and also too good-hearted to touch any fly. And to communicate with a dinosaur was so unrealistic that either the soldiers wouldn't manage to do so. It was my thing to ask and tell what happens exactly in the jungle.

I shook my head, looking around carefully. It was some kind of a bad habit, but I couldn't get rid of it. It was a part of me to be attentive and suspicious of my periphery and it was also a part of me to notice nearly everything. So I didn't miss Skye spinning around when she saw me in front of the flat building that represented the elementary school of the colony. I chuckled and followed her without undue haste.

I reached her in front of Taylor's biro. "Hey, are you in a hurry or what?", I asked grinning. She turned around again. "No, I just act as if I was.", she replied repellent. I shook my head.
As she noticed I wouldn't go away that easy Skye looked at the ground, then asked quite faintly: "I have heard of a party in 'Boylan's Bar' the next day… erm, would you come with me?" I sure was surprised that she asked me of all people to come with her to a party. While I didn't answer at all, she continued fighting the conversation: "It's some sort of karaoke, I don't know. I don't even want to go there, so forget it." She smiled at me and except I was not good in reading people's minds I somehow knew she was a bit sad about it. When she already turned away to the stairs that would guide her to Taylor, I found my voice again and gave her an answer: "I would like to come with you to the party." I tried to put on a nice smile, but I was not good with this too. Although it must have been a fail she smiled back and replied: "Then we will meet in front of his bar tomorrow at 7 pm." I nodded and followed her movements with my eyes. Then I looked up to the sky. According to the stand of the sun I would have at least three hours to prepare the lesson for the first group of soldiers. So I went back to my hut to start organizing the meeting.
