(Here's my new chapter readers. Hope you enjoy the little rumble up in the clouds.)
The next day was the Wonderbolts sky show up in Cloudsdale. As Twilight, her friends, Spike, and their human friends traveled up to said city in the sky, Rainbow spoke, "Oh, this is going to be such an awesome air show!"
"Keep it together, girl." Applejack calmed her.
"Yeah, after all it's not the only thing going down up here." Cody reminded her.
"Yeah, I know. I'm just so excited!" Rainbow cheered.
"Me too!" Pinkie agreed.
"Well, this is it." Jeremy said, as they got off the balloon and started walking through Cloudsdale.
When they reached the Cloudosseum, the band members were escorted to the back where they were to set up their instruments, while Twilight and the others were escorted to the stands. As Cody and Jeremy were tuning up their guitars, Sabrina was testing her keyboard before looking around, "Where the hell is Discord?"
"He should be here soon." Cody stated.
"Well if he flakes out on us I'm gonna..." Jeremy began, until Discord poofed onto the scene with his drum set.
"Don't get yourself in a knot Jer, I'm right here."
"Where've you been?" Sabrina asked.
"Sorry for my punctuality, but I was just making something special for each of us to wear." Discord said, as he poofed up three jackets for them to wear. They were colored red and on the back was an emblem representing a beach with the sun behind it, with the word Summer on top of the image and Fun below the image.
"Whoa, matching jackets?" Jeremy asked, as he held his jacket.
"Nice design." Sabrina admitted, while looking at hers.
"And our own names engraved on front." Cody finished, as he saw his name on the upper right of his jacket.
"I thought you'd like them." Discord said, as he was already wearing his own jacket.
"Discord, you're awesome." Jeremy said.
Discord smirked, "I know you are, but what am I?" the two laughed.
"Well let's get into uniform." Cody said, as the three dawned their new band jackets seeing how they fit nicely.
"Guys, we're gonna look total badass." Sabrina stated.
"Got that right." Jeremy agreed.
Discord poofed up four chairs, and took a seat in one, "Well come on, you three. The air show's about to begin." The three shrugged feeling they should enjoy the show, until it's time to put on theirs.
Soon the Wonderbolts air show had begun. Everypony in the stands, and the band members watched as the Wonderbolts were flying above in a marvelous aerial performance while leaving behind trails of smoke.
Cody and his friends watched in amaze, "Wow they really are like the air force." he stated.
"Except they aren't polluting the air with the smoke they leave behind." Sabrina noted.
"No wonder Rainbow Dash admires them so much." Jeremy realized.
"Oh indeed she does," Discord agreed, "You see it is her dream to one day fly by their sides."
"Well, I got a feeling Rainbow Dash could make it to their league." Cody replied, as they continued to watch.
As the show was about to wrap up, a purple blur dropped down and tackled Soarin onto the arena, taking the Wonderbolts, and the audience by surprise, "What the?" Rainbow gasped.
Soarin groaned, until he saw a gargoyle was on top of him, "What is this?!"
"We have orders." the gargoyle answered.
"We?" the Wonderbolt asked.
The gargoyle looked up, and coming down further from the sky was a whole swarm of gargoyles, "Gargoyles?" Twilight gasped.
"What in sam hill is going on?" Applejack asked in confusion.
"An invasion?" Spike suggested.
"Doubtful, the gargoyles have never had any reason to invade Cloudsdale." Twilight answered.
"So then why are they here?" Fluttershy asked in worry.
"I don't know."
Soon all of the attendees were being escorted out of the stadium, while Spitfire spoke to her team, "Everypony, defend Cloudsdale!" the Wonderbolts flew to attack the gargoyles who started striking back.
On the arena ground, Discord and the three humans watched what was going on, "What do we do now?" Jeremy asked.
"The only logic thing to do, we have to follow the others to safety." Cody answered.
"Wait a minute," Discord said, as he squinted his eyes at the gargoyles, "Those aren't your run of the mill gargoyles."
"What do you mean?" Sabrina asked in confusion.
"I'm sensing dark magic radiating off them, almost as if they were summoned." the master of chaos explained.
"I'm lost here." Jeremy said.
"Guys!" Rainbow flew in, "The others are heading for cover, you guys should as well."
"I don't think so." Discord answered.
"Discord?" the three humans asked.
"You know how I helped you in fighting off those goblins before?"
"Yeah?" Cody asked, wondering what he was getting at.
"Well, your jackets come with a little surprise touch I added for safety precautions while up here in Cloudsdale."
"What'd you do?" Sabrina asked.
Discord snapped his lion's paw digits, and suddenly white feathery wings emerged from the back of their jackets, "What the hell?!" Jeremy cried.
"We got wings now?" Cody asked.
"Mainly your jackets do. So long as you're wearing them you can fly. So be sure not to slip out of them while in the sky." Discord warned them.
"Let's try them out." Jeremy said, and the wings started flapping, and lifted Jeremy off the arena ground.
"Jer, you're flying!" Sabrina called.
"Come on!" Cody called, as he flew up with Jeremy, followed by Sabrina.
"Hey, wait up!" Rainbow called, as she flew up with them.
As they three humans were flying up, they were getting used to the feeling, "Discord sure knows how to help a guy." Jeremy told his friends.
"Just as long as these things hold out." Cody said.
"Or don't fly too close to the sun." Sabrina added.
"Incoming!" a Wonderbolt called to them, as a gargoyle was flying right for them.
"WHOA!" the three called as they barely dodged the gargoyle's strike.
"As it turns out, fighting in mid air could be difficult for us." Jeremy said.
"Ya think?" Sabrina asked in sarcasm.
Cody pondered before a thought came to mind, "Guys, think like we're playing Sky Squadron, only it's real."
The two looked at each other, before Jeremy answered, "Works for me."
"And me." Sabrina finished.
"Then let's go help." Cody said, as they flew to help the Wonderbolts, with Rainbow Dash catching up to them.
Cody flew to one gargoyle and punched it right in the face, "How do ya like that?" he saw another gargoyle dive down at him, "Whoa!" he dodged.
Jeremy was flying around seeing one gargoyle was going after Fleetfoot, "Coming at ya, baby!" he flew forward delivering a kick to the creature's chest knocking him back a bit, before regaining altitude.
"Thanks." Fleetfoot thanked him.
"No problem."
Sabrina grabbed one gargoyle from behind and wrestled with it, "Oh no ya don't!" she called as she held onto it.
Rainbow saw a gargoyle was flying right to Sabrina, "Sabrina, look out!"
Sabrina turned and saw the gargoyle, but it was blasted by magic, "Huh?" she saw Twilight fly up.
"You ok?"
"Never better." she answered.
Rainbow flew over and saw more and more gargoyles were swarming, "How do we stop them?"
Cody flew over with Jeremy, as Cody spoke, "I got an idea, but we'll need every pegasi here."
"I'll round them up." Rainbow said as she took off.
Cody turned to Twilight, "Twi, tell Spitfire that she and the Wonderbolts have to keep the gargoyles closed in."
"I'll do that." she flew off.
Soon Rainbow came back with every pegasus in Cloudsdale behind her, "Ok, listen up!" Cody called, "Follow my lead!" he called as they followed him, Jeremy, and Sabrina.
As the Wonderbolts kept the gargoyles closed in, they saw all the pegasi flying around them forming a ring. Spitfire catching onto their plan smirked, "Not bad," she said to herself before addressing her team, "Follow them!" they joined in as they circled the gargoyles, flying as fast as they could.
With their combined speed they were forming a tornado with the gargoyles inside of it. Discord appeared at the bottom of the tornado they were producing, and smirked as he stuck a cord at the bottom of it, and created a small flame on his talon digit. He lit the thing like it was a cannon, and as it was reaching the end, he plugged his ears before announcing, "FIRE IN THE HOLE!"
Suddenly the tornado shot all of the gargoyles out from the top like a cannon. The creatures flew up before they started falling. Due to the explosion which distorted them they could not fly and fell to the ground below. The pegasi stopped flying so fast, while the three humans saw because they were flying so fast, it was too much for the wings on their jackets to take, and the feathers peeled right off.
"Uh-oh." Cody gasped, as the three started falling, while screaming.
"You think we'll fall through the clouds from up this high?" Jeremy asked.
"I don't know." Sabrina admitted.
Suddenly the three were caught by Spitfire, Soarin, and Fleetfoot, who lowered them safely to the Cloudosseum's floor, "That was close. Are you three ok?" Spitfire asked them.
"Yeah, thanks to you guys." Cody admitted.
The girls and Spike went over to them, "That was amazing!" Rarity beamed.
"You three sure helped save Cloudsdale." Applejack said.
"Well we didn't do alone." Sabrina admitted.
"Yeah, if it weren't for Discord and his team jackets we wouldn't have been able to do what we did up there." Jeremy, added as Discord appeared.
"Why thank you, and if you want I can make the wings as good as new." Discord was about to snap his digits, until Cody held it down.
"I think we prefer to have plain jackets." he said.
"Really?" he asked.
"Yeah, don't get us wrong. Flying was cool, but this just didn't feel safe enough to us." Sabrina admitted.
"Well if you say so." Discord said, obliging by their request.
"What about the sky show?" Fluttershy asked.
"I think that last stunt we all pulled was the bets way to finish it off." Spitfire said.
"Yeah, a lot better than our planned final stunt." Fleetfoot admitted.
"And now we got one last performance before we close it up." Soarin finished, as they looked at the band who nodded in agreement.
In the Everfree Forest, Stygian and Crowl saw some of the gargoyles land on the forest grounded before they poofed away. Stygian frowned, "Another army of creatures failed me!"
"What now, sir?" Crowl asked.
"Now I must come up with another plan." he answered, before storming off inside the cave.
Back in Cloudsdale, all the attendees returned to their seats in the Cloudosseum, as Spitfire was on the stage for the band to play on, "Hello, everypony! Despite the alarming invasion by those funk gargoyles, we all pulled together and saved Cloudsdale. Give yourselves a big round of applause!" the pegasi,Twilight, and her friends let out an applause, "And now to close off our sky show, please welcome the newest band all the way from Ponyville, Summer Fun!"
The crowd applauded, as the curtain opened up revealing, the band members at their positions with their instruments ready. They started playing, as the pegasi listened with enjoyment. As the band played, Twilight looked to her friends, "Things haven't been right lately."
"What do you mean, Twilight?" Pinkie asked.
"First those goblins showing up in the park, where the guys were practicing, and now these gargoyles here in Cloudsdale where they were meant to perform." the alicorn explained.
"What're ya saying, Twi?" Applejack asked.
"You think are human friends are being targeted?" Rarity asked.
"Exactly." Twilight nodded.
"But by who?" Spike inquired.
"I don't know," Twilight answered, "But we have to let Princess Celestia know about this. Maybe she can help in finding out who's sending these creatures."
"Good idea, Twilight. But let's enjoy the concert." Rainbow said, as they continued to watch the band perform.
(And that's the chapter. With the group managed to save Cloudsdale from the gargoyles, but now Twilight is suspicious of these attacks, and is determined to find the cause of them. Catch you later guys.)
