In the locker room, Stiles wasn't paying attention while his coach was giving a speech and getting the rest of his teammates pumped up. He was thinking about Scott, Derek, and the rest of the Hale Pack. He knew most of them would be there. He wasn't going to show fear when he saw them. Hard to when you have to fear to show to begin with. He wasn't going to let them scare him or bully him around. He had a good life for himself here in Red Falls. Here, with Logan, Cleary, and all his other new friends. Sure, he had to put up with William killing and turning people, but he had to deal with psychos in Beacon Hills too, so it wasn't that big a deal.
"Everyone bring it in," said the coach. Stiles and the other boys brought their hands in. "Falcons on three. 1-2-3."
"Falcons!" the team shouted.
"Now let's go win!"
"Yeah!"
Scott sat quietly on the bus as it headed towards Red Falls. His forehead was pressed on the glass and he looked out, but wasn't really looking.
"Scott," said Isaac, who sat next to him. "You okay, man?"
"No."
"Look Scott, being miserable for the rest of your life isn't going to bring Stiles back. He's gone. And you're just gonna have to deal with it. I know what you're feeling and-"
"No, you don't know!" snapped Scott. "You don't know what it's like to lose a friend because you never had any before you joined the pack! Don't act like you're my new best friend! No one can replace Stiles! Not even a Stiles clone! Stiles was always a good friend! You'll never be half the kind of friend he was! So lay off!"
They were silence was about half a minute. Scott spoke up again. "Sorry," he said softly.
"I know," nodded Isaac. He looked away.
Scott closed his eyes and tears ran down his cheeks.
This was it. Beacon Hills Cyclones vs Red Falls Falcons. The stands were packed; students from both schools were there to watch the game. Allison, Lydia, Erica, and Boyd had come to watch Scott, Jackson, Danny, and Isaac. Derek and Peter were there too. Derek wanted to make sure Scott didn't do anything stupid; what happened with Harris was bad enough. And since Derek had to come, Peter decided to tag along since he had nothing better to do.
"How's Scott?" asked Lydia.
"Not good," said Allison. "He's still not moving on."
"I don't blame him," said Erica. "I miss Batman."
Boyd nodded. He missed him too.
While they were sitting on the bleachers, Derek and Peter stood at the bottom, Derek leaning on the side.
"I'm gonna get some hotdogs. You want anything?" Peter asked.
Derek remained silent.
"Hellooooo. Derek?"
Still nothing.
"Fine. Nothing for you."
Peter walked away. Ever since Stiles "died", Derek was more quiet and broody than usual. He never would admit it, but Stiles was pack and he was a very important pack member. He was smart, loyal, and saved his ass just as many time as he had saved Stiles's. Now he was gone and Derek felt that he failed a member of his pack.
'I should've kept him safe,' thought Derek. 'I'm sorry, Stiles.'
Peter came back, and he didn't just bring snacks.
"Derek, this is Logan. He's the alpha here in Red Falls."
Logan smiled. "Hi, nice to meet you."
Derek stared.
Stiles and Cleary got on the field along with the rest of the team.
"Good luck, Sti," said Cleary, wearing a uniform with the number 8 on the back.
"You too, man," said Stiles. His uniform had the number 24 on it. Just like his uniform back at Beacon Hills. He watched as players from the other team walked on the field, including numbers 11, 37, 6, and 14, who he knew were Scott, Jackson, Danny, and Isaac.
Stiles took in a deep breath.
'Let the game begin.'
There were two minutes left in the game. The score was 22 to 25 with Falcons in the lead.
"The hell? How can we be losing?" asked Jackson, pissed.
"That guy, number 24, he's good," panted Isaac.
"Who is he?" asked Scott. "There's something familiar about him."
"Who the hell cares, McCall?" snapped Jackson. "I'm not losing to some nobody!"
The guy in jersey number 24 was really good. Scott, Derek, Allison, Jackson, Lydia, Danny, Isaac, Erica, Boyd, and Peter had been surprised by his skills and moves. He was unbelievable. He was better than Scott and the others and they were werewolves!
"He's good, isn't he?" asked Logan.
"It's not him," said Derek. "You're lying somehow."
"You know I'm not, Derek. It's him."
Both teams were back on the field. Scott and 24 were in the center, waiting for the ref. to drop the ball.
"Who are you?" whispered Scott.
"You really don't know, Scott?"
"Huh?"
The ball was released and the other guy quickly caught it and started running. No matter what the Beacon Hills Cyclones did, they couldn't get the ball from him or tackle him. 24 passed the ball to 8, who passed it to 15, who passed to 0, who passed back to 15, who passed to 31, who passed it to 24.
Number 24 kept dodging the Cyclones everytime they trying to tackle him to the ground. Jackson had, had enough. He was bringing this guy down, even if he had to sent him to the hospital to do it. He charged at the gut, ready to pound him into the ground.
But something happened; the guy ended up knocking Jackson to the ground, and hard! The pack was really shocked by that.
Number 24 was at the goal and throw the ball into the net. Danny tried to catch it, but he missed.
And the Red Falls Falcons won: 26 to 22. The crowd went wild!
The Hale Pack decided to stay at at the field. The boy didn't want to leave for two reasons. One: They didn't want to hear more of Coach Finstock's screaming and insults. And two: They wanted to know what was up with 24. There's no way he could be human.
"Who was he?" Danny asked Jackson. "He is a werewolf like you?"
"He must be," said Scott. "No way could he have done that if he was human."
"Scott, you said he knew your name," said Allison.
"Hey!"
The pack turned their attention who the guy who yelled, who was also they guy they were talking about. He still had his helmet on his head. Logan stood next to him.
"Alright, freak, who the fuck are you!?" snarled Jackson.
Derek and Peter quickly joined the rest of the pack.
"We know who he is," said Peter. "And you're not gonna like this."
"Who is he?" asked Isaac.
Logan turned to his beta. "Time to reintroduce yourself to you ex-pack."
He nodded and took off his helmet. The pack gasped.
"STILES!?" screamed Scott.
