One afternoon in Ponyville, Cody, Jeremy, and Spike were taking a walk, "You know guys, this is a good day for us." Cody began.
"What do you mean?" Jeremy wondered.
"Well think about it. Sabrina and the rest of the girls are having a day at Ponyville spa. This is a chance for us guys to bond to ourselves."
"Yeah, but what can we bond over?" Spike asked.
"Well I'm sure there's something we can do. I mean Ponyville's always brimming with excitement huh?" Cody asked.
"Not always," Spike replied, "Sometimes it can be too peaceful."
"Well that sucks." Jeremy grumbled.
"Oh, now what's with all the long faces?" Discord said as he floated down on a cotton candy cloud.
"Hey, Disc." Cody greeted him.
"Just bored is all." Jeremy answered.
"Bored, on a fine day like today?" he asked with the sun shining behind him and flowers all around him before he shoves them aside.
"Pretty much." Spike answered.
"Girls are at the spa, and we don't have plans, or even know what to plan." Cody explained.
"Well, that does sound like a predicament," Discord said, as he rubbed his chin, until a light bulb appeared above his head, "In the words of my dear friend Rarity, I-DEA!"
The three looked at him, as the master of chaos explained, "How about I send you someplace for a little adventure?"
"An adventure?" Spike asked.
"Where will you send us?" Cody asked suspiciously.
"Oh, don't give me that suspicious tone. It's not like I would be sending you in any real danger without help." Discord assured them.
"What kind of help?" Jeremy asked.
"That's a surprise," he winked.
"Huddle!" Cody called, as the three huddled, "So what do you think?"
"I'm all for an adventure, but being sent on one by Discord I'm not so sure." Spike answered.
"Hey, what else do we have today?" Jeremy reminded him.
"Jer's right, let's trust him on this one." Cody said.
"But what if Twilight and the girls find out and go into a panic?" the dragon asked nervously.
"Then we can always pin it on Discord." Cody answered.
Spike seeing Cody and Jeremy wanted to do it, agreed with them. They looked to Discord, as Jeremy spoke, "Disc, we accept this little adventure."
"Wonderful!" Discord clapped, "Now then I will bring you back once you've completed your little quest."
"Aren't you going to tell us what it is?" Spike asked.
"Again ruin the surprise." Discord shook his talon digit.
"Ok, go for it." Cody said.
"Have fun!" Discord said, as he zapped the three off.
Suddenly the three appeared in some jungle dressed in explorer garments complete with pith helmets, "What, where are we?" Jeremy asked, as they saw their surroundings.
"Is this really where Discord wanted to send us?" Spike asked.
"Hey, guys. Look what we're wearing." Cody gasped as they saw their explorer clothes.
"Well, at least we're dressed as explorers now." Jeremy said.
"Yeah, but what is there to explore out here?" Spike asked rhetorically.
"I guess that's something we're going to have to find." Cody suggested.
"I knew this was a bad idea." Spike rolled his eyes.
"Guys, check it out!" Jeremy called, as the two saw their friend looking out from a cliff.
They ran to his spot and looked out from the cliff seeing a temple, "What is that?" Cody asked.
"Some kind of temple." Spike answered.
"You think we're suppose to explore that?" Jeremy asked.
"Well it's here, and Discord transported us to this very location. I'd say that's a yes." Cody deduced.
"You're not exploring anything." a voice said, as they looked around and saw they were surrounded by pony thugs.
"I had a feeling something like this would happen, didn't you guys?" Jeremy asked his chums.
"Unfortunately." Cody sighed, before making an attempt to reason, "Look, fellas. We're all explorers here aren't we? There shouldn't be any reason why we all can't share an exploration of the temple down there, right?" they aimed whatever weapons they were carrying with them at him in response, "So much for the peaceful way."
Spike jumped in, "Don't worry, I got this." he took a deep breath and launched a fireball from his mouth making the group of thugs back away.
"All right, Spike!" Jeremy cheered, as Cody whooped.
As the thugs continued to try and attack, Spike continued to spit fire at them to drive them back, but eventually the thugs got around Spike and were ready to face the human boys, "What do we do now?" Jeremy asked Cody.
"Spread out and find something to fight with!" Cody ordered, as they did so.
Jeremy picked up a rock and threw it at one of the thugs making him back away, while Cody grabbed a thick branch and started swatting at some of the thugs.
Their enemies eventually managed to disarm them and surrounded them, "Well guys, I guess this is the end." Spike said nervously.
"I can't die like this! I have holes in my Little Mermaid underwear!" Jeremy cried in a panic.
"Any last words?" one of the thugs asked, as he was about to strike the three.
"I got some words for ya!" A voice called out, as the group looked up, "Back off!" something flew in and darted around the thugs before using a whip to snap at the thugs.
The three boys watched as whatever was coming to their rescue was taking out the thugs like they were nothing. Suddenly the thugs were on the ground knocked out, and they finally saw who rescued them. It was Daring Do from the Daring Do novel series.
"Guys, do you know who that is?" Spike gasped.
"Isn't that Daring Do?" Jeremy asked.
"The same one from the book series?" Cody gasped.
"Yeah, but Twilight and the others told me she was real." Spike noted.
Daring Do looked to the three, "Are you three ok?" she asked.
"We're fine now, thanks to you." Cody answered.
"Good. You're all lucky I was in the area." Daring Do noted.
"No kidding." Jeremy replied.
"You really are Daring Do, right?" Spike asked.
"The very same," she confirmed before noticing the two teenage boys, "Hey, you two look kinda familiar."
"We do?" Cody asked.
"Yeah, aren't you part of that band that played in Ponyville and Cloudsdale? Summer Fun was it?"
"That's right. I'm Cody Harrison and this is Jeremy Price."
"Pleasure." she returned the greeting.
"My name's Spike, and I'm a friend of Rainbow Dash." Spike introduced himself.
"Oh, so you know Rainbow Dash?" Daring looked at Spike.
"Yeah, she and her friends are like my family."
"Cool. How is Rainbow Dash doing?"
"Very well, actually."
"She loves your book series." Jeremy added.
"Don't I know it," Daring replied, "So what're you three doing out here?"
"Well we were originally in Ponyville looking for something to do." Cody began.
"Then a friend of ours poofed us here saying we could find adventure here." Jeremy added.
"I see," Daring trailed, before she caught on to what their friend was trying to do, "Well then you're right where you should be." she smiled
"Huh?" they asked.
"I was just about on my way to the temple to collect a valuable treasure before Ahuizotl gets it." the pegasus explorer explained.
"Ahuizotl?!" Cody and Jeremy gasped, "Your arch nemesis?"
"That's right," she nodded, "These thugs were actually hired hit ponies under his command.
"Whoa." Cody gasped, "So if they're here, then he's probably not too far behind right?"
"Precisely. Which is why we need to find that treasure before he gets here."
"We?" the three asked.
"Well you wanted an adventure. So now's your chance." she reminded them.
"But in your books you work alone." Jeremy noted.
"Yeah, but that was before I met Rainbow Dash. Now these days I learn to be more trusting of others. And if you're friends of Rainbow Dash then that's all the proof I need to know I can trust you." she smirked.
The three looked at each other knowing this was what Discord was sending them on. Cody answered, "Well, Daring Do. We're at your command."
"Well then let's go!" she ordered, as Cody and Jeremy picked up two machete's owned by two of the pony thugs before the three followed the pegasus explorer to the temple.
