…...

Releasing me from the hug I was reluctant to let go but I knew that if I were I to leave the place I spent the last nine years of my life, the only ones I could remember and take my rightful place I had to go pack.

"Will I go pack my things Daddy?" the smile almost split his face as I used the unfamiliar idiom.

"No princess," my face fell I thought he said I could go home? He continued "I shall be much faster and with a wave of his wand I heard my stuff pack itself. Pulling a quill and parchment out of his pocket he wrote a letter for the grangers. My stuff piled at the stairs I took one last looks at my "brother" and he apparated us away. I grimaced as the air was forced out of my lungs as the familiar, tight band of apparition squeezed me until I thought I might faint. I crash landed on an unfamiliar driveway in front of a large three storey house, it looked huge too big but I then remembered I now live with seven other people.

I look up to see my father smirking at me in an ungraceful heap on the ground.

"Need a hand princess?" he asked no longer bothering to hide his amusement, but I did the mature thing I stuck out my tongue and took the help anyway. I looked up at the huge house still astounded by the size. He seemed to know what I was thinking for the next thing he said was

"I know it looks large and impersonal but the thing is we need the space a family this large there's no two ways about it." He reached for the door and in the process dropped all of my bags, slipped and landed on his arse. I tried to hide my laughter but in the end I failed pitifully snorting endlessly at my helpless father. He raised one eyebrow and got to his feet. He pulled a set of keys out of his pocket and opened the door, but nothing could have prepared me for the madhouse within.

A pair of toddlers ran past in nothing, absolutely nothing, a girl of four or five chased them.

"Last time you put a bucket on MY head!" she screamed. Then a girl of about sixteen ran past holding a girl about nine with a pumping cut on her head and screamed

"HANK, WHERE THE HELL IS THE BANDAGE!" just then the girl looking over her shoulder noticed us and began to squirm, she wiggled out of her sisters arms and ran over to us.

"DADDY" she cried, "Nigel hit me with a dart" dad tutted and picked her up, he sat her on the newel post and put a plaster which he had plucked from his pocket on a bleeding gash on her forehead. The poor girl still looked close to tears, so dad asked her

"Would you like me to kiss it better?" With a slightly amused expression on his face. She nodded her head rapidly. He sighed and placed a kiss atop the bandage. He sat her on his hip and faced in my direction and I realized I was still standing awkwardly in the doorway with my luggage. Both girls were now staring at me and I could feel my cheeks heating up. The sixteen year old looked like all her Christmases had come at once and ran like the hammers of hell to give me a hug knocking the two of us to the ground at the foot of the stairs. Just as we were sitting up giggling the small, ginger girl with the bandage on her head threw herself on top of us in the dog pile. I saw a pair of high heels at my head and a soft voice speaking in low tones to my father. I don't know how but I knew it was my mother. She bent down and lifted the young girl of us.

"Go Charlie get every one for dinner" she instructed. She put her hands at my shoulders as if appraising me and eventually I passed the bill as she pulled me in for a hug, this hug was soft and warm with none of the granger's coldness. Charlie came back in and said to our parents

"Everybody's at the table except you lot mummy" mum nodded

"Fair enough pet, come on you two" she said motioning to me and the older girl aria-something.

"Good to have you back" mum said to me as I sat at the kitchen table in between a girl who could have been my twin and the baby in the highchair. The girl beside me passed me the garlic bread and then began to speak above the hullaballoo of the full dining room.

"I'm Imogen" she started "you might already know this but we're twins" she said. I stared at her incredulously and looked at dad who nodded and said

"Hermione Keira Snape you have an awful memory because I already told you that!" he rolled his eyes at me and mum smacked him on the arm.

"Severus Tobias Snape that girl had a lot to process and you decided to hope she remembers every detail!" this started a round of laughter at his expense.

After dinner hank and mark were assigned dishes while we were herded into the living room to pick a film. I perused the book shelves with Imogen and Ariadne and I spotted my favourite movie I reached for P.S I love you at the exact same time as the two girls. Mum laughed when the three of us held it up and called it fate. By the time dad came in from the chicken coop the film was started and his groans at the rom-com drowned out.

For the next hour and a half myself and my mother and sisters bonded over Gerard Butlers amazing looks, this was how I wanted family life to be but in a family this big the question was would it stay that way?

Please review I know it's been ages but my laptop honestly broke I promise
