Miya's POV (FF 1 Hour)
You stood in the shower and let the hot water nearly burn your skin as you let sink in what had just happened. You couldn't believe you had just let Joey in, and the thought sent delightful chills through your body. You had never felt this way after a "private session" with Seto, and it made your heart race. He was so much gentler and passionate on a different level and you had to be honest with yourself...It was absolutely blissful. You'd wish it had never ended.
Knowing Aaron would be here soon, and so would Kaiba you quickly finished your shower. Wiping the steam off the mirror, you threw your wet hair into a quick, messy bun and pulled your bangs out so they swept across the sides of your face. Pulling on your deep blue jeans, you stared at yourself for a moment.
There were a few dark bruise like marks on your shoulders, and the thought of Joey making them sent chills down your spine again. Shaking the thought from your mind, you pulled on your bra and v-neck t-shirt. Thankful it covered the marks. Flicking the bathroom light off you headed towards Joey's room. You found a goofy kind of smile on your face as you picked your clothes up off Joey's bedroom floor and shoved them in your bag.
From the sounds of it, Joey was in the living room watching TV.
"Miya...What did you just do?" you heard Kisara nearly scream at you.
"I don't know Kisara...It just did."
"You just made this move a lot harder on yourself, I hope you know. Plus what's Joey going to think after that? He thinks your going to stay here now."
"Kisara...I can't leave." you said, almost desperately.
"What are you going to do then?" she asked sternly, as if she didn't already know.
"I'm going to stay here. I can't run away from this anymore."
"We'll talk about this later, Seto and the boys are here." she sighed, irritation heavy in her voice.
"What?" you said out loud as the door bell rang.
It always scared you how she knew certain things, even though she couldn't see the future. Pulling on your white zip- up hoodie, you rushed to the front door and pulled it open. Judging by the looks on everyone's faces, none of them were expecting you to be here so it took Aaron and Mokuba a moment to tackle you in a hug. Unable to handle everyone's weight, you fell backwards onto the entry's cold floor, both boys landing on top of you.
"Sorry Miya! We didn't mean..We didnt know..."
"Hey kiddo's it's alright. I just lost my footing, that's all. No harm done."
"I didn't know you were coming back."
"Well of course I had to come back for a little bit. Wasn't going to let my little brother start the new term of school alone. Had to be here to help you get your new room set up at least."
"How long as you staying?"
"I don't know, but it'll be at least a week."
"Okay. Still not going to tell me where you're going are you?" he said with a sad look on his face.
"You know I can't right now, Aaron. It's for both our sakes."
You hated lying to him. But right now you couldn't tell him that you'd decided to stay. There were too many things you had to work out before you could tell him.
"I know..."
"Well, no more sad face. How about you and Mokuba go check out your new room and start putting stuff where you want it. I'll be up in the little bit."
Aaron grabbed his bags, and Mokuba grabbed a few as well as they ran down the hall with no idea where they were going.
"It's just down the hallway and up the stairwell right by Serenity's room." you shouted down the hall, before slowly turning to face Kaiba.
You'd honestly hoped to avoid him while you were here, but you knew it would be close to impossible when dealing with the boys. What you saw, was not what you were expecting. He looked as if he hadn't eaten in a month and probably hadn't slept at all since he'd been back home.
"Kaiba..."
Hearing his last name come from your mouth seemed to make him cringe a little, but then he straightened back up as if you were no different than any of the gang that he hated.
"Yes Miya?"
"What the hell are you doing to yourself? You look like hell."
"What do you care?"
"I do care still. You need to be there for Mokuba, Seto Kaiba. You can't do this to yourself. It's not fair to him."
"He'll be okay. He can take care of himse.."
"Don't you dare give me that crap. He's just a child. He shouldn't have to take care of himself." you nearly shouted, unsure of where this anger was coming from.
"I had to take care of myself, and him. It build character."
"Oh that's bull. Sure you didn't have much of a childhood, if one at all but that doesn't mean Mokuba has to deal with the same thing. You really want to be like your step- father and deny him the chance to be a kid? Doom him to be the same as you? Be as cold and hateful towards the world?"
Your words seemed to hit him hard as they came from your mouth with a venom.
"As if you have room to talk Miya. Look at the life you've given Aaron."
"I did the best I could for Aaron. We didn't have money to flaunt around and weren't able to do whatever we wanted when we wanted to. Yet look at him...He loves his life. He tries to make every situation a positive one. He's not withdrawn and spiteful. He knows I gave him everything I could. You should be trying to do the same. Trying to give Mokuba every opportunity you didn't have growing up. You keep this self-centered and self-pity stuff up, you'll miss every chance you'll have to give him the great life he deserves."
Seto's POV
You were shocked at the sadness, anger, and everything else in her voice. It wasn't the same Miya who had left you a week ago, standing alone in the entryway at the island. Although you hated to admit it, she was right. But it wasn't her place anymore to tell you what to do.
"I'll do what I think is best for Mokuba. You just keep your opinions to yourself and stay out of how I raise my brother. We were just fine before you, and we'll be okay without you."
"Oh really? You were fine? Before me, you didn't know Mokuba. I bet you couldn't have told me his favorite color, which game he loves to play, and what he does every night before bed. Maybe if you paid a little more attention to him and instead of to yourself and that stupid company that sucked the soul out of you, maybe you wouldn't be so cold and unwelcoming to people trying to help you."
You stood there silent. Unsure of what to say, if you should say anything at all. Again you refused to believe she could be right about you. You weren't the monster everyone pegged you to be. You were better than Gorzoburo, you had to be.
"Drop Mokuba off at Kaiba Corp when the boys are done." you said, turning around and storming off of Joey's front porch and down the stairs to the car.
You flinched as Miya slammed the door behind you as you slammed your own car door closed. Your hand hovered over the gear shift, as your eyes drifted up to the open kitchen window where you could see Miya standing near the kitchen table. Thankfully the windows on your car were heavily tinted, plus the dark sky hid you from her sight.
You were about to open the car door and head back up to the door when Joey appeared in the kitchen. Where had he been the whole time? Did he hear everything you had said to her and her to you?
You watched them carefully, unsure why, but you couldn't get yourself to look away. As the moments passed, your grip on the gear shift tightened painfully as Joey dared to wrap his arms around Miya, and then kiss her.
How dare he move in on your girl like that...But that wasn't the case was it? Miya wasn't your girl anymore, and she had done exactly what you had told her do to. She had run to Joey. You had never in a million years believed you would come in second to Wheeler. Yet...here you sat in your car while Miya was in his arms.
Finally your grip loosened on the gear shift as you slammed it into drive. As you went to smash the gas pedal, you took one last look at Miya. You couldn't be mad at her, you shouldn't be mad at her. Everything she had sad was true, and it was beginning to sink in. Something inside you demanded you go back up those stairs and take back your girl, but your chest ached, telling you to leave things be. You'd screwed things up enough. Releasing a deep sigh, you drove home quietly, your mind still set on what you had just seen.
Joey's POV
It had been the hardest thing to do, to sit in the living room and listen to Kaiba yell at Miya. But you knew better, Miya could handle herself and you were right. By the time Miya had gotten done with her say, Kaiba had left here like the scared puppy he always thought you to be.
But now, she stood in the kitchen looking a drained and about to break. As you pulled her close, you could almost feel her energy changing. You lightly kissed her lightly, unsure of how she would react at this moment.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, Joey. I just really didn't expect to get all of that off my chest at once. I almost feel bad for unloading all of that on him at once."
"He needed it Miya. For Mokuba's sake, let's hope he took it to heart."
"I needed it too."
"What do you mean?"
"I can't leave Aaron here and run away. No matter what trouble Mai has stirred up, I'm staying."
"You have no idea how happy I am to hear that." you said pulling her tightly against you.
After the intense, personal and beyond perfect time you'd spent with her, you hated the thought of her leaving even more.
"So how are you going to deal with everything?"
"Well, gotta find a job first. Then an apartment if I can find one cheap enough."
"You can stay here until you find one. Serenity is leaving for school in a few days, so you can have her room. I'm sure mom wouldn't mind."
"I'll still be sure to ask. But for now, lets go see what the boys are up to."
You smiled as you followed her upstairs.

Miya's POV
You looked at your phone as it turned 10 o'clock.
"Come on Mokuba, time to get you home."
"Aww really? Can't I stay here?"
"No, your brother wants you home tonight. You guys can hang out tomorrow or something. But for now, time to take you home."
"Can I come with.." Aaron yawned.
"From the sounds of it, you need to get to bed. You look and sound exhausted. I'll take Mokuba home and be back in no time. Joey, make sure he takes a shower before going to bed please."
"Sure."
"Alright, Mokuba. You got everything?" you said, taking a quick glance around the somewhat chaotic room. But at least it looked as if they'd gotten half of the unpacking done.
"Yeah."
You smiled and headed downstairs, Mokuba on your heels.
"Miya?"
"Yeah?" you asked, glancing back at him quickly as you reached the bottom of the stairs.
"Is my brother going to be okay? I've never heard him say things like he said to you."
"You guys heard that?"
"Everyone heard that."
"I'm sorry Mokuba...I didn't mean.."
"No , it's okay. I know it needed to be said. I just...want him to be okay. I don't want him to go back to how he use to be before he dated you. He was back to my brother again."
"Mokuba, I cant say for sure. But I do hope he is. I wouldn't want anything less than that for you. Cause, even though Seto and I aren't together, that doesn't mean I love you any less."
Mokuba stopped at the bottom stair, causing you to turn around. Suddenly he ran to you and wrapped his arms around you tightly.
"Miya, please don't leave. I love you!" he cried into the nook of your shoulder.
"Mokuba, calm down. I'm not going anywhere." you whispered softly as you stroked his messy black hair and squeezed him tightly.
"You're not moving?" you looked up at you with tears in his eyes.
"No. That fight with your brother made me realize I need to stay here, for Aaron's sake and for yours."
"But...what are you going to do? You quit your job, you moved out of the Manor. What can I do to help?"
"Don't worry about it Mokuba. I'll figure something out. I always do."
"I still want to help Miya. You've done so much for me, it's the least I could do. I can try to find other jobs and stuff for you."
"Really hun, don't worry. Aaron's going to stay here with Joey until I find something suitable for him to live in."
"You're not living here?"
"No, I'm already looking for a small apartment for just me. I want Aaron to have his own room so I can't afford a two bedroom right now."
"If you say so Miya. But I'll still help in any way I can. If you ever need help, just say the word and I'll do everything I can."
"You're too sweet Mokuba. Thank you. Now, let's get you home before your brother starts throwing a fit." you said, tossling his black hair.
"I love you, Miya."
"I love you too, Mokuba."
FF 2 Weeks
Miya's POV
You laid on your mattress, exchanging your focus from the ceiling to the clock then back to the ceiling. Ever since you'd started your night shift at the Downtown Club, you'd found it impossible to even try and sleep at night anymore. Thankfully Tea had hooked you up with a bar-tending gig that paid you a little more than enough to cover your rent and small handful of bills.
Also, thanks to Joey, Kaiba and Mokuba; Aaron was able to continue his private tutoring at Kaiba Manor in order to keep him safe from the media mob that was still on a head hunt for you. So far, you'd been lucky enough to avoid the majority of the media and their photographers. Only once had you had an issue with one at the work, but they were kicked out almost immediately.
As the clock turned to midnight, you gave an aggrivated sigh and pushed yourself off the mattress and plopped down on the small couch. Digging the remote out of the couch cushions, you clicked on the T.V and began channel surfing, passing by tons of Ad shows. As you passed the news channel, you quickly flipped back hearing Seto's name.
"It seems as if Multi-Billionaire Seto Kaiba, CEO of Kaiba Corp has finally moved on and seems to be over mmysterious ex-girlfriend Miya Suro who he broke up with just weeks ago, Neyo."
"Is that so Yera?"
"Yes, Mr. Kaiba was seen the last few days with Sarah Senora, heiress to the large Senora family business, and based on recent photographs their meetings were not all business if you know what I mean." Yera chuckled, flashing a number of photos on the screen.
You couldn't believe your eyes. In many of these photos, Kaiba had Sarah Senora's tongue, probably half way down his throat.
"And I'm getting news in that earlier today, Ms. Senora was seen moving her things into the now heavily guarded Kaiba Manor."
"Boy, he sure is moving fast with this new girl, Yera."
"And I'm sure his adoring fans aren't too happy now. But at least that Suro girl can probably stop watching her back. Now, I'd be worried about young Sarah Senora."
Not wanting to hear anymore, you groaned and turned the T.V back off and sat as silent as your empty apartment. You jumped out of your skin as your phone broke the dead silence.
"Hello?"
"Hey, hope I didn't wake you up."
"Joey? What are you still doing up? You've got school in the morning?"
"Eh, couldn't sleep. But um, have you seen the news here lately?"
"Yeah..Why?"
"Um, well...I see Kaiba's running with a new girl nowadays."
"I just saw that, not two minutes ago. Sarah Senora."
"Yeah, that girl."
"I'm kinda shocked after the things Kaiba said about her."
"You know her?"
"Yeah, kinda. That ball we went to a while back, it was hosted by the Senora family. Met her and her creepy ass brother there. Kaiba said something about how her parents wanted him and Sarah to date. He figured it was so they could try and get their hands on the company."
"So why would he date her?"
"Hell if I know. Mokuba and Aaron are both telling me that he's completely gone off the deep end. Rose and the staff say he's rarely home and the boys never see him."
"We need to get him out of there."
"I can't really do anything about Mokuba, Joey. I can't just up and steal him, although from what I'm hearing, Kaiba probably wouldn't even notice."
"Well, either way. I don't like that fact that Aaron's over there as much as he is."
"He'll be fine Joey. Rose and the others always keep a close eye on them. I know Rose especially watched those boys like a hawk when I'm not there. But speaking of which, Joey you need to get some sleep."
"Eh, I'll be fine."
"Joey...Don't make me come over there."
"Don't tease me."
You rolled your eyes, and as if Joey could see them through your phone you heard him laugh.
"So, do you work tomorrow?"
"No, I've got the weekend off some how."
"Sweet. Well we're all getting together over at the Duel Dome right after school for a while and I guess Tea's got some big birthday party planned for Yugi."
"Oh shi...I completely forgot about Yugi's birthday this weekend. I haven't gotten him anything."
"I know, that's why I put your name on my gift."
"See...This isn't right. I'm suppose to be the one writing your name on a gift I bought weeks ago."
"Miya, it's alright. I know you've been busy with the new job and online classes, not to mention trying to get your apartment together. So I took care of it."
"Joey...Some days, I have to wonder what I would do without you."
"You know what? I frequently think the same thing. And honestly, I don't know where you'd be either." Joey chuckled.
"Oh shut it, Joey. Now you really should be heading to bed. I don't want your mom mad at me for letting you stay up this late and be on the phone."
"Oh please. Miya. As if Mom would be mad at you. Even if she catches me up this late, she wouldn't blame you."
You rolled your eyes and flopped backwards on the couch. As Joey's loud yawn echoed over the phone, you let out a small laugh.
"Now that's a sign that you really need to go to bed. I'll talk to you after class tomorrow okay? I'll meet you guys at the Duel Dome...as long as Kaiba's not working there."
"You should come even if he is there. I doubt he'd try to start any trouble with all of us there."
"As if that's ever stopped him before?"
"Besides, I'm sure he'll want to stay away from you so he doesn't make his new girlfriend jealous."
"Jealous?"
