Chapter- The darkness had manifested

I turned, the darkness besides the ghosts' aura around us - I finally knew what it was,"Shade!"

The shade of Gríma Wormtongue appeared from a space in the trees. His hair had changed to a blood red and his eyes were maroon. Yep, defiantly a shade. We are sooooo screwed. Gríma laughed darkly,"These Sprits will not aid you. Not while I control them."

I snarled,"I should have known Sauron would have found a way to create a shade," I drew my blade, this was going to be soooo not easy.

"Dusky," Aragorn halted me,"Do not attack him-"

"You don't understand," my eyes never left Wormtounge,"Shades are extremely powerful and dangerous, they are one of the most feared creatures in all of Alagaesia. Shades are created by spirits possessing the person and melding with them. Those turned Into Shades gain superhuman abilities, such as increased strength, speed, stamina, pain tolerance and are EXTREMELY resistant to death. I've never heard of them controlling spirits- more the other way around- but I guess you learn new things everyday."

Wormtounge chuckled and shook his head,"Ahhh. I see the wench from another world knows all about the creatures that aren't supposed to exist in her world. Hey elf, do you think that's why she chose YOU! I bet it is!"

I growled,"what on earth is that suppossed to mean?"

Legolas drew an arrow,"Silence. I will not have you speak of her that way!"

Gimli drew his axe,"I can't believe I'm saying this but I agree with the elf here. No one insults or speaks ill of Dusky while we're around!"

Crap. I have to tell Legolas, Gimli and Aragorn to hit him in the heart. It's the only way to kill him!

Gríma just had to keep pushing it,"Oh, am I hitting a nerve? Does the little Ancient One pup still have a few more truths to tell? Like she knew what was going to happen this entire time that she could have stopped a lot of heartache?"

No! Okay... Maybe a little... Or a lot. Yes people, I've even been lying to you readers of this fine little story. Break the fourth wall why don't I. I think I've actually done it a lot... Anyway, I've actually known what was going to happen this whole time. Dawn told me everything two summers before when she became a fanatic. But getting it out into the open. It felt like a duct-tape band-aid being ripped off. I snarled and bounded forward in wolf form. I got two steps before I froze and decided to do a mindful assault. Literally.

I fought my way into Gríma's mind. It wasn't that hard, his mind shields were weak. I started flipping thru his memories. When Grima's mental voice yelled a word in the ancient language I did recognize. I couldn't move. It's was as if my body wouldn't listen to me! HELP I screamed form inside my own body. /WHAT IS THIS? What did you do?/

Gríma smiled in triumph,"Fram."

My paws strode forward. I couldn't stop, I had no control. Legolas Gimli and Aragorn were as confused as ever,"Dusky," Gimli called,"What are ya doing lass?"

Gríma sneered at them,"It seems your little Child of Magic has seen the light or rather the darkness."

I let out a growl. Gríma repeated the word I couldn't recognize. It came and left my mind like a leaf in a late autumn breeze. I felt my head pound, I let out a muffled yell. Soon, I could only see and hear. I couldn't even feel my body. Legolas pulled the bow tighter,"What did you do her?"

Gríma placed his hand on my head,"She's under my control now. She won't listen to you. Isn't that right Dusky?"

"Yessir," my voice came out strangled. It sounded so monotone and foreign. I shivered on the inside. I tried to reach out mentally to Aragorn, Gimli or Legolas. But I kept hitting this wall and bouncing right back off of it.
