So we're finally here, the last chapter...

Chapter 23

The Gateway Opens

Butei High – Boys Dormitory Room X07

October 18th – 12:24

The past few days had passed in a haze. Tatsu had told me something about closing the gates that the Shadow Demons were coming through. He didn't take me with him though; he just disappeared for a day. When he came back he had only said that he was nearly done here.

The man that had held Riko captive had disappeared without a trace. A vague description of him had been placed on the Butei wanted board. But Tatsu said that he wouldn't be caught, something about him having already left.

I remember seeing Professor Tokumi and his assistant Amalia multiple times. Tatsu and the professor had discussed multiple topics. I remember him mentioning the completion of two IS units (whatever those were) and multiple revisions of various other inventions.

I was sitting on a couch in Tatsu's room drinking tea when he walked in drinking, what I now knew was, an American soda called Mountain Dew. He had a strange obsession with it.

When he sat down across from me I asked, "So what next?

"Well if you're really serious about coming with me then I'm almost done getting ready to leave this dimension, and we probably wouldn't come back here for a while."

I thought about everything that I'd be leaving behind but I realized that more than anything I wanted to be with him. "I still want to go with you. Wherever it is that you want to go, I'll follow you."

He smiled, "Well then, I'm glad to have you as a traveling companion."

"So what is your 'master plan' anyway? How do you plan on recruiting an entire army to take on your brother?"

In response he held up a finger and pulled a small journal with a large red dragon on the cover from his jacket pocket. "This journal is mostly full of lists with names of people that I'm looking for along with any thing I can think of that might be useful."

I opened the book to a random page saw a list on each page, One had a bunch a names on it but the other caught my attention.

I looked at him skeptically. "You have Pandora's Box?"

"Yeah. Don't you remember, you were the one who found it."

Vaguely I remembered a small black box wrapped in silver chains. "Was that small box really 'the' Pandora's Box?"

"The most dangerous things always comes in the most unlikely of packages."

"That sounds like some old proverb."

He shrugged, "Probably but I don't remember where I heard it."

"So your long term plan is to kill your brother and take back the throne, but what are we doing next? You said we were leaving but where are we going?"

"Well if we're going to get an army and tons of different artifacts, then we are going to need a base of operations right? Well years ago my father decided to leave an investment in a dimension that wanted to expand its space program. That didn't work out too well but it did create a very powerful series of weapons. But honestly that isn't that important. He left a special kind of artifact there in case of an emergency. Thankfully by that point my older brother had decided that he didn't want to go around traveling all the time, so it's likely that he doesn't even know about it."

"But how does that get us a base, if it's just another artifact?"

"Because that artifact is a castle capable of moving through dimensions with a Shadow."

BUT it is only the end of book 1! Book 2 shall take place in "Another Dimension" (Different Fandom) but will continue off this story line.

Reki will still be joining us, Professor Tokumi and his assistant Amalia are likely to return soon as well.

Despite Reki being from the Hidan no Aria (Aria the Scarlet Ammo) fandom, I will not be listing the story under Crossover since it's only one character and personally I don't think it's a big deal.
